I'd love it if a driver who doesn't run the nationwide races wins the cup championship. It won't change anything but it'll show that one does not have to run the lower series in the same weekend to get better at cup.

Even though if I'm honest, we know that's not the REAL reason the Cup Drivers do it.

Maybe its just me, but I would not mind them going back to running the exact same cars as Cup. Clearly, it hasn't made a difference with Cup drivers running Nationwide and young drivers would actually know what its like to run the equipment.

NASCAR could do good by going back to a lot of things they don't do anymore, and they could start by dropping the chase and reverting back to a normal championship.

2 cup drivers win today.

I would love to see nationwide run all of the small tracks that they used to run. Hickory, Myrtle Beach, IRP, Milwaukee. Had they run some same-day truck/nationwide doubleheaders, they might have been able to keep tracks like North Wilkesboro and Rockingham afloat.

Buschwhacking is a popular hobby amongst drivers who have such a low self esteem that they desperately need to find ways to appear more talented than they actually are.

They should sign Landon Cassill or Parker Kligerman if they plan on having a second car next year. Their lower division drivers aren't ready yet and both Cassill and Kligerman have done way too much to not deserve a full-time ride somewhere...

Probably won't happen though.
Possible candidates for the second RPM car:

-Michael Annett (2013 Nationwide season with RPM, still has ties?)

-Dakoda Armstrong (2014 RPM Nationwide rookie, seems too early but who knows)

-Landon Cassill (would love that to happen, don't believe it will though)

-David Gilliland (Ford guy already, 2014 Free Agent)

-Sam Hornish Jr. (2014 Free Agent)

-Parker Kligerman (read about him going to IndyLights)

-Corey LaJoie (RPM development driver, set to make his first Cup start at Loudon, September 21)

-Michael McDowell (Ford guy already, deserves a better ride than LFR's)

-David Ragan (Ford guy already, 2014 Free Agent)

-David Reutimann (ran a few 2014 races with FRM Fords. The most experienced of the bunch, will be 45, and the only one with Ragan that has wins)

I see one of the 3 bolded drivers, or perhaps they run multiple drivers (say Ron Fellows for road courses, Scott Speed/Reutimann for Plate races, Armstrong in all tracks with common Xfinity dates, etc...) ?

So long Marcos, you will be missed.

Hopefully if they are still a 2-car operation next year they use the #44 or #45 instead of the #9.
There's still a possibility Ambrose returns as a road ringer for Team Penske in Cup and Nationwide at Watkins Glen in the following years, but yeah, his nice personality will be missed.

@Johnny1996
thanks! didn't catch that.

So, was the Nationwide race any good, or was it just the typical bushwacking? I'm asking that since the comments point to the latter, but I want to be sure (missed it cause I was at a baseball game while it was on) since the comments are pointing towards the latter.

Brian Scott gave me a glimmer of hope that he would finally win a race.

That lasted all of five laps before Kyle went right by him. He went on to dominate and would've won except he got caught out by a yellow during a pit stop sequence. Harvick grabbed the checkers to no one's surprise.

So I guess I missed absolutely nothing since it wasn't that good of a race.

I'm pretty sure we're skeptical of all new members that have shown up in this thread since that guy was banned last year... at least I have...

I don't start getting suspicious until they start posting in a certain way and follow a similar pattern (usually involving Gordon every time)

Gordon is my first sign, then I go and see if they mention Corvettes anywhere. From there on it's an Ignore List spot and I wait for everyone to out him

I'd like to see David Ragan take over the #9 44 RPM Ford for 2015. His talent far exceeds Front Row Motorsports' low standing in NASCAR.

David Ragan would be nice at RPM, but I personally want them to change the number, 44 is historically a Petty Enterprises/RPM number, and that would leave the 9 open for Hendrick to buy for Elliott

Fun fact: Humpy Wheeler once wrote that David Ragan could be more popular than both Matt Kenseth and Carl Edwards.
Another Fun Fact: After the 2007 Coca Cola 600, Darrell Waltrip said Casey Mears would win the 2008 championship, because Gordon won his first race in the 1994 Coca Cola 600, then won the Championship.

At least Humpy had a good reason- his thinking was that a lot of former Bill Elliott fans would get behind another quiet Georgian who is a master at plate tracks. Keep in mind this was back in 2009 before the 6 car went to total crap and Ragan had almost made the 2008 Chase. That's also while Chase was off of most people's radars, too.

If McMurray had been this good earlier in the season he would have easily made the chase...

I'm watching baseball at the moment and recording the race. Is it even worth watching at the moment, or is is sort of a repeat of the Nationwide race?
