2014 New Zealand / Australia General Discussion

ok so as it stands there is 4 people in the top 14 who have already qualified, and 1 who is underage, so top 19 would be in the national as it stands.

from what i know in the top 14: Joshmuggo, warrior2167, MINT-GTR

Beau231 is also underage

Also keep in mind those that qualified by live event, will lose that live event promotion if they get a higher result in Online, the live event spot will then go to the next highest outside of the top 15 in the live event and vice versa for online.
yeah sucks for me then always an under age problem for me :(

what do you think will be the cut off times for Australia? For the top 14 or top 19?? :S i am guessing around a 2:15.5 will be cut off by the end of the two weeks... I am on a 2:15.8xx and i have a .350 in first sector and .100 in the second sector... Just gotta string it together... Ill get there :)

Don't worry you've got time on your side, eventually you'll be eligible. I'm on the opposite end of the spectrum, don't wish away your youth. You can never get it back :P

I'm not fast enough to make it anyway, but it's probably my last chance anyway so throwing everything at this. Can see possible flat 16's.

Would love to come and watch you guys battle it out though 👍

Don't think I will be able to make it.... I am too slow :( 15.8 is the best i can do... :S even if i improve still don't think it will be enough!

I give up... There is no way I am going to better my time.... :banghead: :grumpy:

No no no no that is not the attitude you need to succeed, I made the finals last time by slowly chipping away at my time.

Every lap you do you will learn something new even it might not seem like it, you will train your muscle memory and weed out little mistakes. These time trials will try and break you mentally if you're not an alien but if you put in the time you will get there.

Im not the most talented but I know by grinding it out and watching replays of the top guys I can eventually replicate what they do.

How bad do you want this?

yeah good point... I have rage fits.... Seriously... Just did 25 red laps.......... Didn't even chip away at anything, the last 4 hours.... I know what I need to do, I just can't put it together... Seriously getting under my skin....

I just rage quit... Maybe time for bed... Start fresh tomorrow after work or a days rest.

Haven't even attempted this time trial still got the other 2 to go i keep spinning at Apricott hill damn you nissans i know I will not stand a chance with the top dogs so i gave up maybe next year on the ps4.

You mean 4 years, the requirment is a full license which isn't possible here untill age 20 at earliest.

Very unfair for us.
yes but doodle is USA he can be 18 for it i think n i find it unfair that im too young i would love to race a real race car or anything like it i dnt know why try GT academy if im not old enough for it anyway im not doing it next year theres no point :(
n yes i mean 4 years sorry
n what u mean unfair for u? ur over age 20 arent u how is it unfair for u?

Us, as in our country.

Im 23 with a full license so it doesn't bother me but I find it unfair that our license rules make our minimum age higher then every other country.

Sydney top 3 times are up,

Bah, someone beat my .5 :)

To Rotor, don't worry about getting that ultimate lap right now. Just sit down and churn out a 'race distance' effort of just consistently staying within the boundaries of the lap. Don't push 100%, just churn out good laps at 97%. You will find that within 2 or 3 sittings doing these 'just under the limit laps' that you will gain 2-3 tenths consistently, and your variation from your session fastlap will be within a few tenths instead of several tenths. It's at this point that you start pushing harder, preferably at the end of the 3rd 1.5h stint (or 4th, or 5th).

The reason for doing it this way is to train you brain to become adjusted to the feel of the car subconsciously. You will then be driving more on 'prediction' rather than 'reaction'. It's worth the time and effort, as this is actually the easiest way to train your mind for a hotlap.

Cheers,
metal
