There's no way anyone can get into the 33s lol. I reckon a 34.3 will be the best. There's another .2 in immortals lap who's ghost I've been following, I faster through the first sector and the bend just before the chicane, but that god dam chicane is costing me a top 10 time, its driving me insane, I simply cannot do it!! Any have any advice? I'm fine on the entry, I just can't get the exit that everyone can get.

@Tidgney That's pretty much what I was trying to say about the handbrake until I got chastised for my views on it. Nothing against you at all when I say this, but I guess it just depends on who you are when opinions are voiced. I have seen this same thing in other parts of the forums. I voice my opinion about something and I'm full of crap, but let another more popular/respected person says the same exact thing, and then suddenly it has great merit or is a great opinion. Anyway, good luck to you also in reaching your goals, I'm off back to my noob table.

It may just be the way people read it, as I even read it slightly differently to my post if I'm honest! Don't take stuff to heart though on forums or the general interwebz, only so many ways you can right something and unlimited ways for it to be interpreted.

2 tenths behind TRL IMMORTAL going into that chicane and yet again i messed it up :banghead: There's always one corner on every track that i just seem to struggle with.
I hope Tidgney's tut will help me out with it when he posts it.

My guide will be out Saturday, not much time in the week to do it with work and such as I also like to get a good grip and idea of the lap and any additional techniques I learn through the week :)! I'm also going to try get some form of wheel cam I hope, as steering is a big part of this one!

The best advice would be to actually think about your entrance, even I fell for this on my 2nd go before realising me thinking my entrance was good was actually bad (No offence or anything by this)! If you get the entrance wrong, or reduce the angle of the second corner in anyway you compromise EVERYTHING afterwards and it can be a ton of time. The best advice is to tighten the angle on the first part by as much as you can so the 2nd angle is reduced and you fly through. A good speed trap on exit is the end of the kerb where I've hit 72mph on a perfect chicane run!

Duly noted and respect your opinion as you didn't come off as some elitist ass as some have. It however is still clear that I don't belong here voicing my opinions/views among the elite, so I will just quietly be on my way. Good luck Raman??, wish you well in the Academy bud.

Man, you sure like victimizing yourself, don'tcha?

News flash: Considering I've never even done a WRS qualifier or any of the GT Academy stuff, haven't accomplished anything but 1 reverse grid victory in GT6, and don't race in any of these "high class series" I definitely must be an elitist ass, right? To me, it's rather common courtesy to make fun of completely bizarre banning suggestions. The handbrake is an in-game feature that can't be turned off or on like driving aids, so people will inevitably use it. Deal with it.

Ahhh I see, I'm losing about .3 on that chicane, its a real killer. I have been taking a more "straight" approach if that makes sense then flicking the car round to exit, my speed at the end of the kerb is just 67mph!

I'll give your technique a try when I get back on and see how it goes, thanks tidgney.

I've done some laps these days and I finally did 1:35.585. I'm fast as a best drivers till the chicane, when I always lose too much time! Afraid to hit a cones....

Finally got gold. 1.37.7 something. No more, I got the credits and now I'm running! That car shouldn't be as slidey as they made it surely?

@GTP_CargoRatt I don't have a time for you in RD1 or 2, have I missed you posting your time?

No, you haven't missed my times as I haven't posted any. My times are not worthy enough for the leaderboard, besides, if anyone is really that interested in my time, (don't know why they would be as I am no threat to anyone here) there is the leaderboard in the game in which they can view my time.

It's the comfort soft tyres... They really make it a little funky monkey.

Why are you letting yourself down like that over one little comment? Don't let that get in your head buddy and keep on focusing on what you normally do: constantly improve. And you are! You nearly ran a D1 bronze time on week 15 of the WRS. Many people wish they could be even close to that kind of pace!

Never let yourself down like that and stay fast.

Always believe in yourself. Even when nobody else believes you've got what it takes, keep believing. I didn't get to this level without believing that I could be number 1. 👍

Always believe in your own ability to improve!
My mindset is "if anyone else can do it, so can I".
Sure, in some cases I may have to work hard for it, but then again; we all have the same basic premises as humans. At least when it comes to driving a car in a game...

I made the leaderboard and I don't care what your times are post 'em. I post my >15000th place times, no need to be shy.

I have friend-ed people around my times to find more races/racers that I can be competitive with. There is always someone faster/better/richer.

Where do you look for the total entries? It would be interesting to have that updated on the site somewhere!

Thank you
I have a friend who purposely ran a very slow time. He is at the bottom of the leaderboard and sent me his rank.

Had another go tonight with a much cooler head, and it's paid off: 1:35.142, good for 70th worldwide, 16th in the UK.

I can't help but notice the incredible standard the UK is setting this year. We've got 17 Brits in the top 75, only two of them having been to Race Camp before; I'm going to have my work cut out trying to qualify for the national finals. :scared: I might have to go to another live event this year :D

The weird thing is we don't even have anyone in the top 20.

I was 20 earlier as I improved to a 1:34.887! Lost time at the hairpin this time but certainly able to go faster, I think even a 34.3 is very ambitious time wise there's not alot of braking in this lap so there's not actually a huge amount of itme to gain! Will be interesting to watch though for sure and definitely making for an interesting combo!! I noticed immortal had put in a hell of a stint according to the mileage count on his lap! WTB a little more free time :D!

You're now 22nd :P Good lap though 👍 I probably won't get back on until the weekend but hoping for a 34.8 in my next session. :)

Was alright ;), amazing laps going in up the board though all setting up to be a cracking final round! I hope the top guys aren't going to burn out to early though we're still talking another month yet!

1:35:642. Funny thing is the chicane is probably my best corner on the track.I'm loosing way too much time in the first sector and the hairpin. 8 tenth back at the end of sector 2
