What stupid is that Brendan Rogers has reportedly turned the United job down?!

Number One, there is no way we would or should want him!
Brendan Rogers actually did good in the Premier League before, which is more than Van Gaal can say.

Also, I was a little harsh the other day, I hope Townsend does well at Newcastle. He has shown glimpses of being good in the past and could well be useful for them.

The same does not apply to Adebayor, get stuck in the reserves behind Wickham for all I care.

De Bruyne out for 10 weeks with knee ligament damage sustained in the cup game last night, big blow for City.

Zlatan is flirting with the idea of a return to Ajax.

If that happens I'll be watching every game he plays. He most likely will destroy every possible record, and make Ajax champion all on his own.

Just a friendly reminder that its the fourth round of the FA Cup this weekend and that there is an FA Cup thread 👍

Normal Premier League stuff resumes in midweek and next weekend is Chelsea v Man United.

Transfer window also shuts on the 1st of Feb at 11pm.

Zlatan. Ajax.

Yeah, I'd go and watch him every game, too.

Nemanja Vidic has officially retired, he won the Premier League at Man United five times, the League Cup three times and is also a European Cup winner and was an absolute beat of a defender!

Paris Saint Germain is after 22 rounds on a 21 points lead ahead of nr2 AS Monaco. And PSG can extend it to 24 points this weekend.

Probably early March!

2nd is closer in points to 19th than to 1st.

I wonder has a team ever got 100 points in a 38 game season?

Newcastle's deal to sign Atletico full back Siqueira falls through after he fail to turn up for his medical, They are set ot sign Seydou Doumbia on loan from Roma though.

Jordan Rhodes move to Boro is off too, Boro's official Twitter account made the deal sound all but complete and Paul Lambert was already talking about reinvesting the money into his Blackburn squad. It's sounds as if Rhodes' demands were too high and Boro simply pulled the plug on it.

Swansea signed a striker on Friday, Alberto Paloshi from Cheivo on a three year deal for around £8 million, we needed a striker badly as we are pretty woeful up front this season so this is a welcome addition, Paloshi played for Guidolin at Udinese.

Breaking! Newcastle make £21 million bid for Saido Berahino!

Now all Spurs have to do is promote Kyle Walker-Peters from the academy and they can win games through sheer confusion.

I do wonder if knowing Blackburn were willing to sell him will impact on Rhodes future form should he remain at us after tomorrow.

Big surprise about Terry not getting a new contract at Chelsea, means he'll leave in the summer, I thought they would give him at least another year, he is still a very capable defender at the age of 35 and not to mention a Chelsea legend, this is bizarre from Chelsea, they did the same with Lampard as well.

Stoke have now put a bid in for Berahino too, deadline day tomorrow is going to be all about him!

I'd pay maybe 10-12 but not 20+ for him, I don't get what the hype around him is. He's not bad, but I wouldn't pay double the amount for someone who act's like a spoil brat when he doesn't get his way.

He's overrated. He's not even worth over 10 mill, just a young English player who has one good season. Same goes to Jack Grealish who people put a valuation of 20 mill last season but now he has fallen to the bench to Sinclair.

If they want a good young striker then they should go and hijack Niang of AC Milan. Definitely a one for the now and the future.

Rhodes basically told "sod off" by Lambert at training this morning. Also:

No surprise whatsoever about Guardiola, I think Pellegrini has done a great job in charge though and has kept his dignity throughout the Guardiola speculation.

----------------------------------------------------

Transfer stuff, mostly loan deals...

Seydou Doumbia from Roma to Newcastle
Patrick Roberts from Man City to Celtic
Mathieu Debuchy from Arsenal to Bordeaux
Eder from Swansea to Lille
Federico Fazio from Spurs to Sevilla
Aiden McGeady from Everton to Sheffield Wednesday
Alex Pritchard from Spurs to West Brom

Those are the loan deals, there are some permanent transfers...

Watford have just this minute signed Abdoulaye Doucoure for £8million from Rennes
Bournemouth have signed left back Rhoys Wiggins from Sheffield Wednesday.
Stoke in talks with Gianni Imbula from Porto on what would be a club record £18.5 million fee.
Jordan Rhodes arrives at Middlesbrough training ground ahead of talks
Everton in talks for Lokomotiv Moscow for striker Oumar Niasse for a £13.5 million fee

That's its for now....

Teddy Sheringham being sacked as Stevenage boss might be [a surprise].

I'm more surprised that they hired him. But at least he has tried to cut his teeth at a lower league club rather than be parachuted into a job way above his station.

1st February - Teddy Sheringham (Stevenage, sacked) League Two

Sackings: 36
Resignations: 4
Expirations: 2
Approaches: 4

Total: 46
