Adam Johnson has pled guilty to one count of scoring with the U-16s.

He has not pled guilty to two further counts and awaits a jury decision on those.

Yeah, remember when that first came up and everybody jumped on it before it faded away into nothingness? Looks like it's hot news again.
Shame. He has been one of Sunderland's key players this season.

Abou Diaby will make an appearance tomorrow in the Coupe De France after countless of injuries.

And it seems Barcelona has taken pity for the Neville's and selected a squad full of young players for tonight's game.

Liverpool scrap the £77 ticket prices for the new stand next season after the outcry about it...

Barcelona proceed into the final of the Copa Del Rey on aggregate of 8-1 against Valencia.

Ben Arfa could be joining PSG in the summer from Nice after comments of praise from Blanc. Scoring 11 goals so far as a right winger this season.

So your statement of him raping a child is wrong
I'm not sure you quite grasped the content of my post.

You're saying he hasn't been charged with rape. That would make it quite hard for him to appear in court and plead guilty to having sex with a child (and having sex with a child is what we term "statutory rape"), since you have to be charged in order to enter a plea in court.

He's also pleaded guilty to grooming the child too. And denied two further charges of having sex with her.

It's a very odd reaction to read "Footballer admits he groomed and child and had sex with her" and think "Well, that's bad for his team".

So your statement of him raping a child is wrong so don't exaggerate things by comparing him to Jimmy Saville.

Edit.

Could have seen that tree'd coming.

I haven't been up to date on this case. He has admitted to grooming and sexual activity but doesn't rape legally require 'penetration', which he has yet to be charged with having sex with the teenager but just sexual activity.

No.

Which is to say "not necessarily with the penis" in adults (penetration with any part of the body can be rape, although it can also be sexual assault), and when it comes to kids, not necessarily with anything.

Nevertheless, he's been charged with, and pleaded guilty to, grooming a child and engaging in sexual activity with her. It's a very odd first reaction to think about how that affects Sunderland.

On a lower scale, Wednesday striker Gary Madine punched a Wednesday fan in a nightclub* and was gaoled. He was our top scorer at the time and I couldn't have given two short 🤬 about how it affected us - we needed to get shot of him because screw him and people like him.

And a United fan a month later in a different nightclub. I suppose they're people too.

Anyways..... Transfermarkt has updated their market values for the BPL.

Mahrez: 8-15 million.
Vardy: 4-9 million.
Bellerin: 3-9 million.
Alli: 3-9 million.
Ighalo: 3-9 million.

Other news:

Bolton chairman Phil Gartside has died of cancer, aged 63.

And another sacking!

Saved the club from relegation to the Conference with a Great Escape relegation battle with a deficit of over 10pts? Nah, not good enough this season. Hartlepool fans are already putting their appreciation on record and noting how there isn't the budget to compete higher than the lower half of L2.

Hartlepool are looking for their 10th manager in 11 years.

10th February - Ronnie Moore (Hartlepool United, sacked) League Two

Sackings: 39
Resignations: 4
Expirations: 2
Approaches: 5

Total: 50

Ah, would you look at that! 50 departures since June. Fifty. There are some duplicate clubs there sure, but it's a staggering figure.

Now that Huub Stevens has quit as headcoach at Hoffenheim, the youngest ever coach in the Bundesliga has taken his place.

28 year old Julian Nagelsmann.

Let's see how that pans out.

Adidas have terminated its contract with Adam Johnson with immediate effect and Sam Allardyce confirmed he wont be picked for the United game on Saturday.

He is an absolute pillock, not only has he wrecked a teenage girl's life but he has now destroyed everything he has ever worked for, hope the idiot gets everything that's coming to him...

Totally agree 100%

Hoffenheim's season has been diabolical, and I don't know how they are playing so bad as they have an abundance of good players. But they have 14 games left so it's not too late to salvage. Tomorrow is a must win game for them as well as they face Werder Bremen who are level on points.

Were Hoffenheim not the team who had already announced a very young manager as their incumbent's designated successor? Maybe they've pulled the trigger early.
