Well at the end of last season Fellaini got sent of in the final game against Hull meaning he missed three games at the start of this season, this is fairly similar but this time he'll be back for the cup final.

Love that story about Wes Morgan buying everyone Jaegerbombs in a Leicester bar!

So, so, so. Middlesbrough vs Brighton tomorrow. Win for Brighton sees them promoted automatically and 'Boro in the play-offs. Anything else is a reversal. A massive game and it's on Sky, so I'll be watching.

Be nice to see the local team in the Premiership.

Edit: Help from a mod would be nice, because I didn't triple-post.

Man City v Arsenal is probably the only big game left at the top of the premier league. It's basically winner goes straight into the champions league group stage, although if Arsenal win then city may have to watch their back for whoever wins between West Ham and Man United on Wednesday, but I can't see Man City losing to Swansea last game.
A draw for Arsenal Sunday would be enough since they have a bye, I mean Villa, last game. :sly:

Ok then lovely people its the penultimate weekend of the season, there are some games in midweek next week and the final day is next Sunday, here are this weekend's games

Saturday
Aston Villa v Newcastle
Bournemouth v West Brom
Crystal Palace v Stoke
Leicester v Everton (5.30 Sky)
Norwich v Man United (12.45 BT)
Sunderland v Chelsea
West Ham v Swansea

Sunday
Liverpool v Watford
Man City v Arsenal (4pm Sky)
Tottenham v Southampton (1.30 Sky)

Its also the final day of the normal Championship season before the play-offs, Middlesbrough v Brighton is a winner take all match at the top, don't forget Leicester get the trophy tomorrow too...

A new twist to manager watch!

6th May - Russell Slade (Cardiff City, kicked upstairs) Championship

Sackings: 49
Resignations: 4
Expirations: 2
Approaches: 5
Kicks Upstairs: 1

Total: 61

Moussa Dembele suspended for six matches after his eye gouge on Diego Costa on Monday night, pretty big ban that, but deserved IMO.

Kicked Upstairs? What does that mean?

Hope this influences Spurs to get a replacement Dembele over the summer, no other Centre Mid is anywhere near as good for us.

Spurs have only lost 1 PL game that Dembele played this season, and that was when he was playing right wing.

26 year old Patrick Ekeng of Dinamo Bucharest collapsed and died on the pitch tonight.

GOOD NEWS EVERYONE!

Rafael van der Vaart has been deemed fit enough to join the Real Betis squad! He has been on the pitch 7 times this season!

Ugh, don't get me started. A late season collapse means we're looking at a ninth season in the non-leagues. Pay attention United, Liverpool, Wednesday, Leeds, Forest, Newcastle and fans of any other perceived sleeping giants. It can always be worse. Always.

We typically release 10-12 players each year and a lot of fringe reserve/U-21s were let go so the story alone is not unusual. The captain is a thirsty man so that's not a surprise either but what it does mean is a brand new squad of faceless unknowns next year. Oh joy.

Big Congrats to Middlesbrough, back in the Premier League after a seven year wait 👍

Really didn't expect Swansea to win let alone beat West Ham 1-4 away from home, especially after making six changes and resting Ashley Williams for final two games for the Euros, was a very nice surprise! :)

So... is there any rule that says that professional footballers must be male?

There are female professionals but I assume you mean females playing in what could otherwise be called "male professional football".

Here's a snippet from the Laws Of The Game.

P3 "Notes On The Laws Of The Game"
Male and Female
References to the male gender in the Laws of the Game in respect of referees,
assistant referees, players and officials are for simplification and apply to both
men and women

In which case you'd think it would be at the discretion of the respective leagues whether they would accept mixed gender teams or not.

That's the thing - it isn't called that. Women's football is gender specific, but the 'normal' kind isn't.

It made me wonder if a lower-league team could sign a woman instead of a more expensive or less talented male player. For instance relegation-haunted Doncaster could sign someone from the Belles.

And that's without mentioning the transminefield.

Congratulations to Burton Albion on promotion to the Championship, they were a Southern League team in 2005 and have had back to back promotions after coming up from League Two last season, quite a journey they have had so far 👍

Its the final day of the Spanish La Liga today as well with three teams still vying for the title, all games kick-off at 4pm with the Barcelona-Espanyol game live on Sky.

Full time, Spurs 1-2 Southampton, two goals from Davies for the Saints, City v Arsenal on next, massive game....

I saw an interview with Schöne where he said something like ''This season will be a complete failure if we lose the championship'', so I imagine he's having fun right now. Just like Spurs, who are now risking 2nd place to Arsenal due to their 1-2 loss to Southampton.
