Fixed for you. Seriously I remember the talk at the drags/car shows when the SN95 1st came out, they were considered heavy pigs compared to the 5.0 LX and the SN95 GTS option package wasn't enough.

Well I'm sure they've been asking since then but I don't remember all the way back then cause I was 4 and being taught to call fox bodies trash and the then current gen even bigger trash driven by ladies. So to be honest I wouldn't know without looking, but you know your stuff so I believe you on that. I went off of recent memory because the current gens biggest complaint beside handling was the weight.

GT Premium in Deep Impact Blue and the 19" Premium Paint wheels with spoiler delete.

The configurator is missing somethings though including no Saddle option (or whatever the new name is) for the interior.

This is NOT photoshopped.

I see nothing in the pack that screams I need that on my DD mustang.
LSD and springs will be easy to upgrade using aftermarket parts a year or two down the line.
Exactly. If I do get a Ecoboost I will get it without the PP since it will be a DD.

I wonder if there any truth to that early flat-plane crank V8 powered GT500. One of those disguised prototypes sounded a little like a 180 degree V8.

I highly doubt it. It would take MAJOR reengineering of the engine to go flat plane crank.

The car is getting a major overhaul to begin with. It's not the first time they went out of their way to try something new.

Mod motors anyone? That was a big step.

True but Its one thing to introduce a new corporate engine family and its another to re-engineer an existing engine to be flat plane crank for just one model.

Flat plane rumored for the performance model below the GT500. GT500 will carry over the 662hp monster. And it should, considering it's only been on the market for 2 model years.

While it's not exactly simple, converting a 90* V8 to a 180* is not an enormous undertaking. Here is a converted SBC done by aftermarket tuner Ligenfelter.

There are unique parts, but the engine retains the same architecture. This saves massively on engineering cost because a lot of the really really difficult problems (coolant flow, oil flow, block integrity, etc) have already been solved and carry over unchanged.

As far as I can tell, the only differences would be the crank/rod/piston assembly, cams and mechanical timing system on the inside, as well as new intakes, exhausts and computer tuning on the outside. For the most part the block and heads will remain the same, though they'd probably take a look at modifying their structure for reliability and efficiency purposes.

So yeah, now that I'm done listing what I thought were simple problems, they'd basically be designing a new engine. This is a car manufacturer we're talking about, not a tuner like Lingenfelter, so they're going to be extremely particular when it comes to the engine's architecture for maximum reliability and efficiency.

It does look a lot better but I feel like somethings missing. A small Cobra badge or something would be nice.
