The '14 GT is good for a 12.7 stock IIRC. This one the best I've seen is a 13 flat which is depressing
a Few tenths isn't too bad. New models should be faster but I would not mind a few tenths to make it a all around better car. This does remind me of when the '99 Cobra were coming out. Everyone was waiting for numbers and MM&FF got a hold of a pre-production car and the 1/4 numbers were a few tenths slower vs the '98s.

Very marginal.

From the trap speeds, seems like there is little difference in acceleration itself. Might be an issue with the launch.

Marginally worse at one thing, drastically better at a bunch of others.

Yep, I'd gladly make that trade too.
Me three.

It seems that the new Mustang is looking more like a track monster, just like I hoped. :D
Oh how I hope the new Shelby GT350 becomes even more awesome on the race track and Ford & Shelby don't put too much power in it this time.

Whats with the hood?

Just be happy the Mustang exists. No matter if it's a fraction slower or heavier or costs this or that. The Falcon is gone. And yes, we will see the Mustang but, Ford are still keeping the Mustang around. I'll take that at its core above any performance numbers.

The Falcon still lives.... however it looks like a Mondeo.

I would love it if the Australians could make an homage to the third gen Falcon with their new models, namely the XA GT model.

The Mustang will never go away. Ford said that themselves on camera.

And they also said as long as there is a Mustang there will be a stick shift offered.

To be brutally, depressingly honest, I think there will come a day where there won't be a manual offered on a Mustang. Because there won't be manuals offered on any cars. It's sad, but it's going to happen someday. So long as there's a Ford, though, there'll be a Mustang.

Not according to what a Ford executive said.

I can agree that most cars won't have them. But they flat out said as long as there is a mustang there will be a manual for it.

I saw that earlier. Pretty neat.

Also Beeble look up Jay Lenos video on the 2015 car. That's where I heard it from.

The board of these companies aren't immortal & there are always things that can force their hand like the near extinction of the Big 3 just years ago. If Chevrolet ran into issues with keeping the Mustang's biggest rival alive after 4 generations, Ford could certainly face the same issues.

Just because they said it doesn't mean it won't happen.

These things aren't written in stone you know...

So what Henry Ford said many things I don't see them living or perpetuating his era and doing the things he claimed would always be around forever. Also to try and say that something will stay true for as long as it exists is a bit of dumb optimism execs die off and get replaced, and people move on and times change, it's easy to say a ton of things about the mustang to ensure sales for this and the next couple gens from the hardcore fans like you that at some point can buy one...but forever, don't make me laugh.

Well hopefully I'll be dead before it happens then :P

Why? Seems like a silly reason to stop liking a car and I mean the entire keep the manuals movement in general seems a bit silly to me. Especially those who are proponents of furthering technology but wanting to keep a system that is quite outdated.

I think it's more so "for driver enjoyment" more than anything. No doubt aftermarket will fix that though.

I wouldn't really count on it. As far as technology is concerned, we're in an age where doing something of that magnitude requires more time, money, & effort than it's worth because the car simply isn't designed to have it.

Not for long. 2016 will be here soon enough.
Remember this?

Should have been the Falcon replacement. Ford retro at its best missed opportunity.

or this?

Pretty much became the Taurus.
Ford's passenger car game, will change with the wind.

Ford are going to hold onto the Mustang, as long as Chevrolet holds onto the Corvette.
