I like the Hennessy more, but Hellcat has large car manufacturer behind it, so it will probably sell better out of the two.

This is pretty much what I'm thinking. Wonder what Fords going to put putting out.

They basically made a modern version of my old mustang photoshop way back in that photoshop car modding thread.

Couple guys around here are reporting that Ford has been bringing the Ecoboost to local tracks and are running 12.9s out of the box at just a tick over 100mph.

That trap speed seems awful low for the time...

 I love this meme. Sorry Slash.

12.9 is as fast as or faster than GT500 times from a few years ago. If true, that's pretty awesome, but I'll still take it with a [grain] of salt.

Car and driver granny shifts their cars.

The Ford Racing ecoboost car did a 12.55 on drag slicks and with non-street legal exhaust and other mods. Hence stock 12.9 salt.

An Alfa Romeo 4c will run about a 12.8 @ 104mph. But it weighs 2500lbs and has only 250hp, so that makes sense.

Trap speed = HP
ET = Power/Weight

I cannot fathom a 3600lbs Mustang running a 12.9 @ 100mph, unless the driver lifted towards the end, or the car was on full slicks and pulling the front wheels off the ground at launch.

I thought it sounded kinda crazy myself but I saw a picture of one of the cars Ford had brought and it looked totally stock at least to what I could see. No slicks or anything. I'm pretty sure they wouldn't lie about the times and stuff but something's just not sitting right with me. The mph is about right for a 300-310hp car but that time is wicked fast.

A major corporation not lying to its customers. Yeah....
I'm talking about my friends telling me the numbers. Ford was running the car down the track. I had friends spectating as we all race each week though racing season is winding down.

I thought you only had 1/8 mile tracks by you?

*open sunglasses in awe*

Are those only the ecoboost one or is there a GT tucked somewhere in there ?

From what I see the white, yellow, and red one closest to the camera all have a 5.0 badges on them.

1/8th is the closest, about 15 minutes roughly from my place. There's two 1/4 mile tracks within 30 minutes of me north and east.

OK, so here's a GT doing a 12.86 at 107.8 mph. Slash, I think your friends confused the ecoboost and the GT. That, or the ecowoosh is God.

Unless they had both there, the picture I saw was definitely an Ecoboost car. It's very possible both the GT and the Ecoboost were both there though. I wonder what that elevation was in those videos. Were right about 550ft here.

According to this site 525ft, you guys are so lucky with that low elevation and low DA. Our here with summer temps put our DA at over 8000ft.
