Too retro in my opinion, and I can already tell the A pillars aren't going to be integrated into the body lines -__-

Not the worst looking thing, but damn sure not the best

Nope, rumor has it that its a hat.

Maybe Ford is offering the NAPA hat option from the factory:

It looks retro and boring at the same time. Its going to make a lovely, overpriced rental car I suppose

**Actually looking at it again it looks like something Mazda would make and I don't think that's a good thing.

New start of a partnership between Ford and Mazda?

The all new Mazda 6 coupe?

"It's just some car" -Top Gear talking about M3

Pretty much. It's like they tried to keep it retro to satisfy the fat, bald, old dudes wanting to relive their past but at the same time they tried to "update" it.

They should just make it look modern and quit trying to live in the past. That's going to be the Mustang's biggest downfall I think.

I'm just going to hold out hopes these rendering are severely wrong.

Completely seems like a not so good render. I honestly hope that's not final.

LOL I like the new look but you are right its a bit boring. I was hoping for more when Ford was talking about going away from the retro look. I still might get a a new one with the turbo I4 if that is really a option.

on the flip side of the coin the last time Ford went away from the Retro look we got the Fox body which was a good car but tons of people hated the looks damned if you go retro damned if you go modern.

I really hope the turbo 4 is a good engine and I hope they cram it into the Focus ST to make the car with the worlds most aggressive torque steer.

It was the 80's. The 80's sucked for designs all the way around. BOX ALL THE THINGS!!

People disliked the Fox but now it's hailed as one of the holy grail of Mustangs. Going away from retro is going to be hard because of how many people actually like the current design. I can't tell you how many times I've heard people say "what??? OMG they are changing it? That's stupid!!! They should leave it because it looks awesome just like the old ones!!"

I bet the S550 turbo 4 will be the Focus ST motor with bigger turbo/more boost.

I take it you are NOT a child of the '80s? I love the box stuff for the most part including RWD Volvos LOL

It's pretty much a guarantee. There's no reason to develop another engine.

You're probably right, guys are already getting 400-450hp out of the ST's 2.0T so I'm sure Ford could get 300hp and still maintain reliability.

A 2.0T with a 6-speed DCT would make for a fun car barring the Mustang doesn't weigh as much as a small moon.

That is the thing I am worried about especially with the IRS coming. That versions with IRS were heavy and the prototype S197 IRS added a lot of weight.

For the Mustang to be competitive against other cars in its class though it needs to have IRS. It'll increase the weight, but it's needed.

It would make the supposed weight reduction counterproductive then. It seems to be doing decently with the solid rear axle in it right now.

Decently well isn't an option. Ford will use this platform for what 7-10 years? They need to plan for the future as much as they do for right now.

Very true regardless of how well it actually handles or rides. People will have a automatic bias against it if it continues to have a live rear end. At least it will have a weight advantage vs the Camaro and Challenger no matter what Ford does with it.
