That is what is wrong with it, it's more of a sports car then a Muscle/Pony car.

They should have called it a Probe.

Ho-ho-hold it there. Let's not get too irrational, now!

Ford needs to get the ball rolling with this thing in Europe. Even if they love the idea of the Mustang, the simple fact is that cars like a "traditional" Mustang aren't a good business case. Overall, it's a "best of both worlds" attempt, letting Europe have their fancy engines and suspensions, while still giving Americans their pony car that they've loved for the last 50 years.

I absolutely believe that if Ford would offer this thing as a badgeless coupe with the 2.3T, they'd sell a ton of them. It would definitely solve the issue with the, "why would you buy a Mustang without a V8" question... And put a reasonable distance between folks who want the turbo four coupe and the traditionalists who only want a V8 GT. Yeah, it's the same car, but it looks different enough to be different... Not unlike what they did with the SVO compared to the LX/GT back in the '80s.

I absolutely love this car, my quibbles are minor, and I'm fairly positive that someone in the aftermarket will do what I want.

There just something off about it, I don't like that it but I don't hate it. There something just odd about the look of it, it doesn't scream Mustang.

The three final design prototypes of the '15 Mustang..........

Looking at that, I actually prefer the B prototype to the final model.

The final car has the B prototype headlights and grille, with the A prototype rear end.

Minus the in-grille foglights, of course.

There's a current model Mustang that's always parked outside my building. While I like the look tons better than the slab-sided and rather awkward retro-mobile that came before it, compared to this, it looks... compromised...

Compare... the old car still looks rather slab-sided, with that annoyingly retro cut that simulates the fake side scoop that isn't there anymore and that tiny rear porthole accentuating the girth of the hips in an unflattering manner. The cut of the rear bumper has always struck me as having too much plain vertical surface. Also, the jutting front bumper under the cut-away makes for lousy aero while serving no purpose than to look like it's jutting, even when it's not, not really.

Could go on, but the gist is... the old design looks old because it's still more retro than anything else. The new one, just like the Camaro, manages to reference old Mustang cues without slavishly copying them. Which is a good thing.

Wow seeing them side by side really tells you how great the new car looks. I'm rather excited. The new car has a sense of purpose and agility (look at those hips! tight, muscular, and lean!) on a level I don't think the Mustang has ever had before. The 64.5-68 cars, I think, were the last cars to have a lean form.

Me gusta.

Needs "Hertz" in there somewhere...

Can you imagine another Hertz re-issue? What would they call it? The GT230H? :D

I could make a Hertz version easily. It would actully be pretty cool. Hell I could make a bus out of it

to be honest with me I really think Ford tried to keep USA in mind and what a mustang is in mind. the only thing to be determined is the price and options?

Didn't do thaat much actually, since the car does look pretty good from the rear. I extended and modified the diffuser, added the dual pipes, badges and rear gas filler, custom made the rear wing, side and front ground FX and front fascia, the things in the hood, and well, the paint and wheels, duh. I was REALLY tempted to add a rear-quarter-window side scoop but refrained from.

Well, since the ragtop was also featured posting the chop I made of it has no sense at all. However, I'll leave my Shelby here (:

Maestro

The Mustang just keeps getting better, and better, and better... just like good wine :)

The split spoiler is fine but the center section should be done to echo the license plate cutout below it. That means the two inside angles of the spoiler should be radiused to match the plate cutout and the two outside angles should be cut sharply instead of curve into the raised part of the spoiler. Right now it's backwards and it's noticably inconsistent with the plate cutout.

Is the V6 supposed to have the same power output as the 2.3L?

I haven't heard anything on the confirmed numbers of the V6. The 2.3L is rated 305hp.

It's kind of pointless to have a V6 then.

EDIT:

Ooo, it has wheel shift paddles.

Any word on if a double clutch is available or not?

Not right now anyways. The current 6 speeds are going to be carried over, though paddle shifters have been introduced.

That actually surprised me. Everyone was expecting 7 and 8 speeds transmissions.

They said they'd rather kill off the Camaro than make it an economy car.

I'm interested in seeing what the actual output of the 2.3L is, since they claim it's "more" than 305.

Its just like 1974 all over again. GM is not wanting to change with the times and adapt the Camaro. You would think they would learn there lesson since it is one they keep making.
