I never realized how much larger the 4.6 V8 was compared to the 302 V8. That's a massive difference.

1 head is almost the size of a 302 block.

Windsor foxes aren't even competitive anymore vs the Mach1s

And the Mach 1 is almost 800 lbs heavier and no where near as aerodynamic. If you put a Cleveland headed 302, Boss or not, in a Fox, it will run circles around a stock EFI 302. As I said prior, the Cobra 4.6L's are a different animal vs the stock 4.6L 2V.

Ok, I'm trying to make the '68 302 but I'm only getting 194 hp and 233 ft-lb. Did they use higher quality parts compared to others?

I'll PM you so this doesn't get dragged off topic.

EDIT:

Told him to advance the timing, he switched to 91 octane and put a milder cam in it. Power shot up from 193/233 to 218/302 lol.

Yep but than you would be out of class rules. Clevors and BOSS302s are apples and oranges to EFI 5.0s. Sadly the PI 2v 4.6 stock vs stock would beat the 94-95 Cobra 5.0. I love Windsors but seeing the big trend in foxes these days is modular or coyote swaps. Heck putting a PI 2v in a Fox would be a fun car that would run circles around even a bolt on 5.0 fox.

Maybe, but the Windsor is still the cheaper one to build.

Bolt on 302 can mean many things though. There's enough aftermarket for one engine to be bolt one and another to be bolt on and one has significantly more power of the other.

Depends on price I can hit the local u pull it wrecking yard and get a complete PI 2v for around $300. $300 worth of parts on a EFI 5.0 will NOT get you 260hp. I looked at a PI 2v mod fox when I was in the process of getting a non running 4cyl fox hatch for free. Sadly that deal fell through.
When latemodel guys talk bolt ons they usually mean Throttle bodies, MAFs, Headers ETC. Once you get into heads and cams its not boltons.

I can walk into my local junkyard and pull a running EFI 302 out an Explorer for $50. Done it with two 351's.

That depends on what you start with. $300 worth of parts on a 225hp EFI 302 better get me closer to 280. Hell, you can do that with a carbed motor.

Bummer man. That would have been a sweet ride.

It's not the same with us guys prior to. Bolt ons is the entire top end. It's only not bolt ons when you get into the block for pistons/rods/crank etc. Likely because I can have an entire top end off it and cam out in a half hour. Not possible with a 4.6L, no matter how much experience you have.

I don't think that's it. Tires aren't wide enough as we saw on the test mules.

Exhausts are directly below the Black parts between the tail lights. It's perfect.

This is the only shot where I like the back...
Edit- tires look at most 265.

I saw a 2015 Mustang in person. Pictures of the car had me believe the car hides its visual mass to look smaller than the outgoing generation while actually being bigger. I was wrong. It is bigger and looks bigger.

Saw the '15 Mustang at the Chicago auto show yesterday. Looks much better in person, but doesn't look any smaller than the current car.
