Hmmm... it would only be frustrating IF I actually saw it past the first 500 metres. ;) With you being a full 2 seconds faster than me in this round alone, the dust from your car would have time to settle down, get married and have dust bunnies before I crossed the finish line.

But I do thank you for the offer!!!

Cheers
Lol that's how I started with my top Canadian friend. Took a year of playing min 200+ km every day.

Can you guys give me feedback on my lap?

Definitely need to slow down sooner for corners. Also try and smooth out your steering inputs. You will get there just study top replays and practice practice practice. Nothing in life that is worth while comes easy.

Thanks for that tip! Ill let younknow tomorrow how I do with your advice!

Really like this round,
Managed a gold time by 0.2 after about 4 laps, before watching the guide
after that shaved off 2 seconds immediately,

My brain just doesn't comprehend using compression lockup techniques to back the car into the corner to be anywhere near as fast as the Aliens.
Dipped into a mid 1:24 on an invalid lap but am consistent with consistent low 1:25, driving the car "properly" so I'm happy with that.

Hi all, new to forum and GTA - great to read all posts, gives me inspiration. Especially Tidgney's track guides.. Thanks mate, legend! I'm running consistently low 23's but struggling to break the 22's. I'm losing abouth 6tenths each corner at Surtees and Westfield. To any of the guys in the low 22's or 21's: on entry and mid corner in this car - are you focusing on putting power down just before the apex in order to have the car rotate and end up sliding to the outside of the exit? Or is it purely down to car control when abruptly putting the power down on exit?? Hope that makes sense. Thanks

managed to get a clean 1:22.811 but I still saw some more time, had a 22.5-22.6 in the hand but ruined it mid lap... I need more practice but unfortunately I don't have enough time

Its the worst when you are on the lap. And as soon as you see how fast you're going you f it up haha

Great question. I want to have those answered as well.

My first attempt at the GT Academy. Got the game about 2 moths ago. The wheel 3 weeks ago and my time is 1:22,752 - 184th in the world, 4th in my country.

The first corner is very important to start a good lap. Also try to watch the fastest drivers replay a few times and watch when he brakes etc. Throttle control is kinda important.

Thanks a lot for the advise Alex. I tried to analyze what I was doing wrong...
Think the problem is not only in my first corner (obviously) but in my consistency. I always try to lap as quick as possible, whereas yesterday I just went for the consistency and wasn't aiming for a "fast" lap. I quickly saw that being consistent for lap after lap...my times improved aswell... but then again..that's an obvious fact...

Have a lot of work to do this week, so next stint will be for the weekend...I feel confident about making it to the 24's...but still after that a lot of work needs to be done

thought to post a small video of my 22.811 lap, now that I saw it I really had a terrible first half of the track... anyway enjoy

Im going to cry! my best lap is 1:23.4 and in my efforts to drive calm and smooth, I reached the sector 1 time check just before turn 3 and was already .400 seconds faster than my best time!!!!!!! I lost it in turn 4 due to my sudden bewilderment haha but I know what to do now!

Put in another 2hour stint last night for a total of 6-7 hours on this combo and I reached my goal on with the next combo already lol

Currently down to a 1:21.981

Work on getting third, fourth and second last corners. Once you figure those out you will hit 22s for sure. Keep at it man your almost there. I know it's hard but don't worry about what's behind you until you are on final run to the line. Just that mili second you look away is enough to completely mess up your train of thought.

How did you do it. I am stuck at a 1:22.239. I know I can get it if I get a clean lap. Always seem to leave some tenths on random corners on random laps.

You simply have to keep pushing like all of us you need to run the car ballz to the wall :P to make long story short I've made the cut for nationals 2013 and 2014 and come up short 2-4 spots each year to make race camp so this year I've been putting in a lot time on the game and it's been paying off

@GREASY SAM id say work on mastering turn by turn at a time untill your able to master all turns and then link them together if I nail a perfect lap with all my pb sector times I could see a 1:21.7/8 if I keep trying

Yah I only put in 200km a night. Don't have to grind like you. Worked all year to get myself up to speed to be a top Canadian. I know there is one eligible Canadian that is ridiculous fast lloydzelite. Now that Canada got bounced from competition I feel like I am the lone wolf Canadian playing. Lol plus I have a four year old and a baby due any day now. Wish you all the luck to make your dream come true.

We have exactly the same time .

I'll try to improve but as you said, a perfect, clean lap is needed. Some days I seem to make a perfect first part while on other days I seem to nail the second.

I need to find time to make a last long stint.

7 hour stint? Wow. I think the longest I've run is 3, no more than 10-15 total for this round.

When you're multiple seconds off the pace, it easier to figure where you're losing time, usually because of a flawed approach. When you whittle it down to where you and I are, it's more about going pushing the limit without going over. I have my one fast lap among a bevy of circuits where I spun, went wide, hit cones, or just couldn't get the right amount of rotation. Knowing what to do is one thing - execution is a whole different ballpark.

@Tidgney thanks for the guide mate really helped.

On my best lap 1.22.9 I am for sure 1.5 to 2tenths up on you on the run up to surtess. By the Time we are leaving Westfield we are level.

Then on the run to Stirling your slightly ahead by 2 3 tenths maybe but your blue line crashes to the right barrier. I finish the last 2 corners well and end up a second down. Do u see my blue line in ure laps? Where do I lose out?
Thanks

It's just me I can do every corner right some all the time and others I just seem to forget how to drive :dunce:. Would be nice just to lace one real good lap. Would love to be able to crack into the 21s
