Used Wolf's ghost last night to see where I can make up time - he's an absolute beast in sector 1.

Was only 1.7secs off him approaching the Porsche curves but always manage to get one wheel on the grass... I'm going to give it a rest for a couple of days and give it a proper crack this weekend.

Some awesome times being set now.

I finally hooked up the last sector last night like I had a pair of balls, but it didn't count. I was up in the first part of the lap by 5 tenths, got all tense, made a mistake by running wide and got the old red lap treatment plus went 2 tenths down. I thought sod it, just go savage so I did. Came back and crossed the line on a 27.7. I was chuffed, then immediately miffed off because knowing my luck I'll never drive the final sector like that again! Damn!

Can't believe I got scared  I was 6 tenths up on my ghost on for a low 26 when I got to the final chicane. Psychologically from earlier that last cone got the better of me and I slowed down and lost a few tenths :( 26.5 for now, 1st in UK and 9th overall at least but I want better :P

I will beat that cone!!! It's on! The pressure is immense at the end of a hot lap though; the last chicane is so difficult to get right! It's a 1 in 100 shot.....

EDIT - Now 3:26.472 (1st in UK and 5th Overall)

:gtpflag:

Nice lap man, enjoyed your replay, nice and smooth!

@Ben Bishop doesn't look like it registered dude...

Don't know if anyone else is having this issue...
half of my laps I have to abandon coming into the last chicanes because the track isn't loading. Like it will all be see through and all I see are those dreaded cones haha. Very frustrating and of course it happens when I am like a second up on my ghost. Could have a low 27 a few times if it weren't for this issue :/

There's something I've noticed at the end of the Mulsanne straight...

I was 2 tenths up on my ghost (28.4) and braked a little earlier than it, I made the corner perfectly on my PB but I missed the corner completely on this lap. Now, I'm wondering if there is a larger bump that is causing me to catch air and extend my braking zone...

Just embedded a Lap in the 1st page posts from Japanese Alien Yam.

Take a look, mind blowing skills, mid corner corrections.

A 25.7 and he ain't breaking sweat haha.

Edit: It's not been posted yet so there must be some 'mind-games' going on.

Kamikaze boys FTW.

I was chuffed last night, 3:36.1 and good enough for 420th in the UK on only second "timed" lap. Didn't have very long to sit and beat laps out of the car, but I'm not going to get close anyway. Such a cool car to use though, it drives so different to anything else. I used a DS3 rather than my wheel, which I thought may be an advantage with the bumps around La Sarthe. Watching @outlaw4rc lap though made me realise just how wrong that was... I thought I had done really well learning how to get the car into apexes and through corners to the best of the cars ability, but I have no chance of holding the same lines as the wheel users. I'll take my gold and the Nissan LMP1, and be happy with that!

He might have signed out before doing the laps?

Yeah, Defo mate.

Great times from yourself btw 👍

Good luck.
Yeah most likely if he hasn't been placed on the board. Still not faster than Wolfie though! ;)

Thanks, you too!

I know there's a 27 lurking in there for me, been too many times where I've been a second or faster and then get red-lapped or hit a cone...

3.27.6 im sure there is loads more to come but the wheel and my whole body is taking a real beating! Also had to change my view to roof cam to reduce the horrible bouncing. Good luck all 👍

Also was wondering yesterday when I watched the lap from yam why it was not registered in the rankings... he could sign in after doing that great  lap or not  would have been P2 atm...

Great driving 👍

Maybe he's not going to show how fast he can go until the end of the TT.

But it's weird how he's posted up the vid on youtube though, very strange.

I did a 3:30:772 yesterday, improving by 1.8 secs.

Question to DS3 aliens: What configs do you use with the pad? I use (X) and ([]) to accelerate and brake. But there's a bunch of people using the L2 and R2 buttons.

I did a 37.211 thought it was good enough for gold. Guess I would have to keep moving the TC down to maybe 1 to get that last .211

X and Square here too, but I think if you're able to use L2/R2 (I don't like it), you might be quicker due to better throttle control.

I've noticed that too mate, it's pretty important to modulate the brake pedal a bit there so that you can get the apex speed that you need. Tbh I'd rather lose a tenth there and get the car straight for a good exit where you could gain back the time that you lost.

I completely agree Andrew. And its not only the ffb, but also the on screen bouncing....I too became nauchous after my short stint with it.
Fully agree Cargo. The simulation is not realistic whatsoever. I have spent a lot of time when I was working chasing wild buffalo and cattle over rough ground in a Toyota 4X4 and my line of sight always remained constant on the beast ahead regardless of the terrain.
I really think they are showing a view from the view point of the vehicle and that is unrealistic as it is not how we see it as our eyes/view adjusts automatically to remain level and steady.
But that's not the only thing wrong in my opinion, what is it with the change from 1st to 2nd to 3rd? Why the lag? What car really does that? You get to redline in first and change up but the revs then fall so far behind it's absurd.
Is that how real race cars work? It's certainly not how race cars in GT6 work as far as I can remember.
