3:34.50 to rank 354th! the most I ever did to learn this circuit, was from the Ferrari event from GT5 some year(s) ago. haven't driven it since. no replay studying, wheel user T500 RS, no aids.
can I do better? probably, if I decide to take courses and learn from pro's on their secrets.

to date, my entire GT experience is just self taught.

congrats on all top leaderboards, best wishes to your real academy!

Fully agree Cargo. The simulation is not realistic whatsoever. I have spent a lot of time when I was working chasing wild buffalo and cattle over rough ground in a Toyota 4X4 and my line of sight always remained constant on the beast ahead regardless of the terrain.
I really think they are showing a view from the view point of the vehicle and that is unrealistic as it is not how we see it as our eyes/view adjusts automatically to remain level and steady.

Yeah this shaking relly has nothing to do with how eyes work in real life, sitting in a car first your body works as a shock absorber, and above that our eyes are filled with liquid so they will remain relatively steady even though your head is shaking...

Seems to me they just added this insane shaking to make it more challenging that's all :boggled: Or maybe it's better in cockpit view...

YAM and Wolf are two different people.

Correct.
Did some fishing, turns out he races with Wolfie.

I think we better both row mate! I was just 7 tenths up on my ghost of 2.28.2. Binned it. I need a break!
We're going in circles then because I broke into the 27's earlier! Finally! Plus, I now know where I can improve. ;) :gtpflag:

Somebody beat Wolfie? I call robot.

I finally hooked up the last sector last night like I had a pair of balls, but it didn't count.
Had that happen a few times yesterday. I did figure out I can be up to two-three tenths behind my current ghost approaching the last two chicanes and still come out ahead if I really push my luck.
Tell me about it mate.. Been on for a couple of 27.5's last night but arnarge kills me usually...
It had been eluding me but I'm starting to get better there. Found out I have to be deliberate with my downshifts or the car will plow wide. That and I need to accelerate from the apex in a way that the fronts will stick in 1st gear.
There's something I've noticed at the end of the Mulsanne straight...

I was 2 tenths up on my ghost (28.4) and braked a little earlier than it, I made the corner perfectly on my PB but I missed the corner completely on this lap. Now, I'm wondering if there is a larger bump that is causing me to catch air and extend my braking zone...
The way I brake there, my approach is consistent enough that going wide is no longer a major concern.
Watching @outlaw4rc lap though made me realise just how wrong that was... I thought I had done really well learning how to get the car into apexes and through corners to the best of the cars ability, but I have no chance of holding the same lines as the wheel users. I'll take my gold and the Nissan LMP1, and be happy with that!
Once I start turning, I tend to forget about the shaking and whatnot. It's the approaches that takes time to learn.

Crappy quality but uhhh.....

it's like the game anticipated you hitting the cone so it DQ'ed you. When reviewed frame by frame you see your litterly 10 feet from hitting it then just miss, maybe you ran over the bottom of it?

I have a picture of it on GT6, I'll upload it in a bit. But you can clearly see on the picture I came no where near to the cone.

Was on for a 3.25.9 then C*ocked up on the last chicane really bad :embarrassed: lost 6 tenths on my best and got a 3.26.5 25 is my goal :)

Thanks for the motivation Bert, I really needed that push today mate. Just managed a 3:26.178 (1st in UK and Europe and 7th overall); you definitely gave me the fear man!

The top 10 world leaderboard is crazy atm, it's changing by the minute. I'm determined to stay in there though and try to fight!

(until the ultra aliens turn up that is :P )

nice one man! great lap time. Hopefully I can string a good lap together tomorrow. Get another UK flag in that top ten :)

Maybe, it's not just those cones, I just had it happen to me twice in a lap. I got a next lap red when I "over cut" one of the chicanes *2/3 of the car still on the track* and then DQ'ed on the set of cones prior to the ones that DQ'ed you.

That'll be the invisible cone forcefield!! Finally managed a gold time of 1:36:1 ish after many many hours with the d-pad. Think that's me done.

maybe the collision zone is set wrong for that cone set.
There's one way to know; drive at it at low speed. It's also possible the replay is off. I recall a time when someone said I drove off track during qualifying. Their replay showed that but mine didn't.
