Already on my objetive: top1 DS3 in Portugal... but still a lot of space to improve. The thing is, with a DS3 and with this car, I have to make a lot of perfect decisions on braking, turning and accelaration points to be able to put an entire lap together.

Without the control and the precision of a steering wheel it's very hard to make it until the end of the lap without making a mistake.

Quite a challenge.

Don't worry it is also quite a challenge with wheel

Is it just me or does this car sort of, uh, "lock up" upon high speed braking? It seems to just go somewhat straight rather than actually turn towards turn 1 (or 2) of Sarthe when I brake...

I know what you're talking about, and the only quick fix for that one is to turn up the ABS higher to give you more turning ability under braking. Other than that you just have to refrain from trail braking as much

Gave it a go last night. After 30 minutes of failing to complete a single lap (must have breathed too hard on a cone when I drove by it more than a few times) I got a 3:31.026, good for 63rd in the USA. (71st now, but where is everyone?) Since I am not elegible to compete, that's good enough for me.

After I accepted the car as a prize, I tweaked the suspension some and went for a few laps around Fuji. 👍

Down to 28.4 with the pad, and made a huge mistake at Mulsanne Corner, thought the lap was over but carried on anyway - definitely a 27 possible! Kicking myself for that mistake, probably lost .4 in that corner alone :(

P2 worldwide with a pad now... Alien territory.

I just fell out the top 10 in the UK. 👍

I'm like top 200 in the world though.

I'm just surprised to be 4 seconds off and still in the top 100 in the US. Either people are really struggling with this, or the amount of people that are really serious about the competition dropped off after round 3.

Number of people is really low. Lowest I ever remember it to be. Really lost a lot of its hype recently.

I believe I got lucky being a first year finalist for the US, at the current participation numbers I wouldn't have made it. I think the something like 53,000 people competed that year.

I'm not eligible but if I was I reckon I'd have a decent shot at getting that last place. :P

But then again, aliens.

Heh yeah I'm still annoyed I didn't take that one seriously enough. Ended right on the wrong side of the cut off for UK Nationals, didn't put enough time in at all.

This year feels a lot easier though, and seems like a lot of the guys at the top have been to a National (so not eligible) before - I think this is easier to qualify than that year, in terms of eligibility alone.

Give it time. It's only been a day.

Checked my replay this morning. I'm certain I can run a 26 if I can get a few things right:

1. Avoid the bump at the first chicane. With a perfect line, it's not a problem. Otherwise, throws me wide on entry.

2. Tiptoe through Indy-Arnage. Cannot red the fronts at Indy or the car loses front bite. Time to be gained exiting Arnage if the braking into it is done early. Need to upshift to 3rd earlier approaching Arnage.

3. Stop screwing up entry into Porsche curves. Briefly using 3rd but I'll try staying in 4th.

Hah, I really like this regional ranking system, made 3.28.125 and I was quite surprised ending up third :D bit embarrassing for I drive those last two chicanes like a total pussy but otherwise it was really nice lap I think... Car is really nice after you get used to it, cones are something that man just can't get used to so nothing to do there :yuck:

As of yesterday, I was three hundred, sixty something. Think I had a 3:41 or something. Just wanna get gold on this one, so I can gold all of GT Academy this year.

Pretty fun challenge, definatly takes some getting used to and some of the wonkier things is this one, but I've always enjoyed Le Mans and the prototype cars. Car doesn't drive the greatest, but it atill really cool with it's layout; interested to see how it does in the 24.

Best of luck to everyone! Send me a postcard from Abu Dahbi! :dopey:

Still using the pad, really want a 28, feels like @jontikis' 28.633 is a hell of a lap on a pad. 👍

Had a quick go this morning, improved to a 29.086 - in theory can get to a 28.5 but not sure when/if that will happen :P
If you watch my replay, you will see that my lap is not perfect. I would find 2-3 more tenths if I had better entry/exit from the Porsche Curves and the final chicanes ;)

there are no shift key on my Romanian computer.

i'm not looking for the GTac IRL,

but i just got STUCK with these sectors FOR 3 HOURS,

the GTA afer all.

Tree'd slightly...

Interestingly, in Free Practice Session 1 at Le Mans the real #23 car set a best lap time of 3:43.383 and in Free Practice Session 2, the #22 got a 3:50.713. The real cars got bronze!

There's another free practice scheduled for Wednesday, Jun 10, then qualifying begins with a 2 hour session later on the same day and continues with two more 2 hour sessions on Thursday.

So we'll see if the real cars are capable of getting gold in this event next week. :)

Actually, Nissan is using the "over-1000 hp" version, so it's more more difficult to handle that amount of torque through the turns in a FF, especially when they exit the slow chicanes.

Improved slightly to a 3:28.8. Still not happy. I was up .694 exiting Mulsanne and then ran too far onto the kerbing at Indianapolis, red lapping it. Have frequently been .5+ up exiting Mulsanne but keep stuffing it up between there and the last chicanes. :grumpy: And I messed up the Porsche Curves on that 28.8. So easily a mid 27 in there.

I managed to knock 2 tenths off my time but before that I either hit or cone or red-lapped multiple faster laps, two specifically being a second faster after the second Mulsanne chicane...

So, a potential mid-27 there. :)
