Ok after banging my head against the wall 8 hours already before I got home from work I though this isn't going to be the best stint ever... After first hour seemed like I could not get a lap done and best I did was over half a second behind my record... At that point I went to smoke a cigarette and had a banana, that didn't work too well so I opened up a beer (kids stay away from alcohol it's poison!) for a while it seemed like that didn't work either (how is that even possible :D) but after another hour kicking around cones in that first chicane I somehow started to relax and even concentrate a bit lol and manged to shave couple of tenths :dopey: after that I saw what @Tidgney suggested for FFB settings and I though I'd give a go, I was not surprised that it felt much better than mine (3/2) at that point I restarted the event just in case (such paranoia lol) and it didn't take long and I manged a pretty stunning lap (on my standards :D) of 26.465 lap was much "prettier" than my yesterdays "trying to approach Arnage from the grass" type of lap so I'm quite happy with that :P 👍

Not saying restarting the event made much of a difference and though those wheel setups felt bit more convenient I doubt they made me much faster, but I'd say they are definitely worth giving a shot, at least on T300 they seemed to work really nice, thanks for the tips, always appreciated :) 👍

Some time left in practice today. Live timing here http://live.fiawec.com/
The Nissan is about 20 seconds off the pace.
Oh, look. The Porsche, Audi and Toyota are running faster than all of us.

But, hey! Points for building a unique car! Next year, how about a car powered by steam?

I'm cutting it back to 3/2 as well. 8 is quite accurate and more consistent but exhausting.

3/2 wasn't bad at all, have been using it for half a year or something, 3/1 really just felt bit more comfortable, getting bit tired to that wheel shake already

 5/5 for being bizarre that is for sure... I just wonder what it would have been driving a proper MR LMP in this event :irked: not saying I would have been any faster, but it sure would have been fun burning rear tires instead of those fronts

Why last year though. I agree with Quebec messing things up. You would think they just would have had to implement what they did last year. I think it's because there are not enough Canadians playing I'm top times.

If I recall we had our own listing on the leaderboard but I don't think A Canadian went to the GT Academy for the real cars. I know my memory is not what it was being 57.5 now but to my recollection we have never been able to move on. I was first one year and the bragging rights were cool and I was blown away how many knew about it. As you get older the hand and eye coordination goes as do the reflexes. I think there are more than enough players to justify including us but the laws governing that stuff here are just a a pain in the you know what to work around from what I heard. Congrats on Canadian #1. I hope it sticks till the end but there always used to be a guy that came in last day and blew everyone away. Don't know if he still does it as I don't follow it like I used too.

The thing is that I usually run something around 3/2. Works well with road cars. Race cars coupled with my Pro's small diameter wheel and I get sloppy with the faster corners. Going to change it anyways because I've gotten PB's with looser wheels.

After a good 1000 miles today my best was a 31.9 putting me 234 UK , going to have my foot cut open tomorrow , to replace the metal screws and plate ..
good luck all you speed demons !!!!!

Ps. Just had another go 170th UK ...just when u think u can't get any more lol

Looks like Gaetan has unfortunately dropped it at Mulsanne corner in qualifying causing a red flag. Hopefully it's not too bad!

Turismo Lester aka thanks eh. His name is Mark he lives in Edmonton and so do I. He made it all the way to final three in Silverstone last year. Definitely a Canadian.

Really, wow. I thought I played last year but maybe I didn't. I was injured last year and taking a lot of morphine so I guess I can't rely on my memory for that period. Well if they did it last year I see no reason not to include us every year. Mind you how many of the winners are making a living driving? I'll play as long as I can but my racing days are a long way behind me. Did you get out to see PT at the Champ Car races In Edmonton?

Yah went to all the Indy car races that came here. I actually raced Alex tagliani at the speeders prokarts place here. The group of us he raced absolutely murderd him. He came in seventh out of eight. Lol. In the beginning he wasn't really trying but by the third race his competitive side came out. He was not impressed to finish so low.

I don't know if Alex was a Karter. PT was a big time Karter you should have got him out there. You learned something that day I bet. There are a lot of fast drivers that can smoke some of the pro's but for what ever reason (money) never got the chance. I would bet though that Alex wasn't really pushing. Win or lose he was in a no win situation. He win's and of course he does he's a pro. He let's others have their day and he's a bum.

All comes down to money for me. Building a ls3 swapped s13. That is costing me enough already. Not to mention new house wife and two kids. It will be awhile till it's done but it will be sick when it's done. Officially called it project Grease missile.

It always comes down to money. You know what they say about racing. The fastest way to become an millionaire is to go into racing as a billionaire. So many with incredible talent just can't get the money. So many with money get their rich parents to foot the bill even though their talent may be not so high. Always a balancing act but some take their shot and make it and many lose it all. PT's telemetry in Long Beach got him his job with Penske. He was on it sooner than others and one of the last to brake. AJ Allmendinger made it on talent and work ethic and man could he whip a Champ Car around a track. Someday someone like you will make a living driving but through sims rather than the real track. I hope I live to see it.

So true. It puts a different spin on it when you are actually in the vehicle and chucking yourself around with the chance of getting hurt. Most pain you get in virtual world is a numb ass. Lol

Changed wheel settings, changed session and I'm only getting worse. Why are the Mulsanne chicanes so damn difficult now? It's now understeering so bad there.

I won't even run laps until the weekend. Too frustrated right now and to think I'm not even going to Finals. I just want to beat my PB.

The Nissan is about 20 seconds off the pace.
Note that they disabled the KERS system due to issues, so they are basically running a FF 500-600bhp race car. It should be putting ~1000bhp to the rear wheels out of corners via KERS but isn't this year.

The one in GT6 has KERS functioning, and it's not impossible that a 3:25 time would be about right with it active.

After watching your example laps I've been trying to figure how to drive trough those chicanes on 2nd gear but just can't pull it off, well at least not so consistently as I can if I drop to first gear after first apex...

Same, If I get the first one bang on with braking point and turn in I can carry 2nd (makes me up to .3 faster to the split just after), but the second chicane I end up having to use 1st in order to not be too tight entering the right hander of the chicane.

Oh c'mon but that down mate, I burned mine long time a go, might be that I burned the last bit of my sanity at the same time, but who the heck needs sanity when PD provides us this magnificent FWD LMP that they can't even get to work IRL :D I think we should rename this car something like "Nissan vision GT-R LM NISMO '15" hehehe, I mean who wouldn't love to drive for Nissan in this on coming Le Mans? Can't think of nothing more fun than participating in a race with car that misses something like 50% of its power output  "FF car with 600 BHP" freaking funniest thing I herd in a while

Yo @Growling didn't you say you were going to Le Mans to watch the race? Do me a favor, every time you see one of those Nissan visions go by, point and laugh at them, might get bit boring after awhile but I think they deserve it :D

Am I the only one all the way down to 1/1 on the FFB just to get away from the damn shaking in this car?

I may bump it back up to 3/1 or 3/2 just to see if it helps or not but I think I'm pretty close to done since the weather here has finally gotten a little more June like and I'd rather be outside 💡

My annual goal is usually to be in the top 5% regionally and last I checked I was in 341st with about 10,000 entries. So even if I don't improve I'm still ahead of my 446th last year which I consider an achievement considering the difficulty of this years combo.

Haha I'm going to invite everyone to my camp where I've got my g27 set up and invite them to feel first hand how this car feels like it has a 100-0 weight distribution

I'm still in FFB 1/1. Still killing my wrists! Also the fan in my T500 is on permanently!
