Consistently running .7 up on my best at the third split but just keep messing up into Mulsanne or Indianapolis. :irked:

ODB
Hahahhaha, oh god made the messiest lap yet and got my first lap on 26's with 26.886 I pretty much nail it all the way before playstation chicane but of course I loose plenty of time there, all is well after mulsanne I hink the split was 57.6xx but then I clip the god damn grass coming in to arnage  I don't know how I kept the car on the track  and then I mess the entry on porsche corners also but apparently I made it all up in the ford chicane or something for I was able to improve :D oh man this event is somehow really insane, maybe there really is some god fairy sprinkling more grip on the track during the night   or even during the laps who knows

That's funny! Almost exact same as me. My time is 3:26.769 and my 4sector split was also 1:57.6. I'm fed up now though

Heh yeah, if you look at my replay you'll see easily what a mess it is, first sector is really good but after that it looks like I totally mess up on every other corner lol, and that entry on Arnage is a great example how I made that lap almost by accident :D naah, I have to see how it looks like tomorrow, according today I should be able for a bit better lap only by keeping it bit more steady and clean, easier said than done though

Had a session on Sunday and couldn't get within .5 of my pb (3.29.7) It was so frustrating, I just couldn't get in the right frame of mind. Today I jump on and everything just clicked. I eventually ended on a 3.28.8 for 56 in the UK. So close to my target of top 50. On Sunday I couldn't see the time either but even on my 28.8 lap I lost 1.5 tenths to my ghost in sector one and a few in sector 3. I also went a bit wide through the Porsche curves. I'd estimate if I absolutely nail a lap I've potentially got a really low 28. Or do I dare dream about 27s!!!

I could swear I noticed last night on some restarts there would be almost no grip to be found anywhere hitting the same speeds, brake points, and lines as my previous run. Restart again and it was back to normal.

On another note, if they manage to drive this thing for 24hrs without it spinning out at least once it will be amazing. I can't even imagine what it might be like in the rain if you hit a puddle with a rear tire :scared:
At this point, I'm in the belief that the grip level is not a constant for this round, just like in all the other rounds. Other can disagree with me all they want but there's been too many complaints about the same issue now that more people are finding the limits. The only advice I can give is not to think about it. Just focus on the driving.

If I must be honest, I'll be shocked if any of the Nissans are still running at the end and not an embarrassing number of laps down.

Id be quite shocked to even see any of them at the end! Regardless of how many laps down.

I reckon 2 will start after 1 cant get out of the garage. 1 will go after 2 or 3 hours and the other one will die during the night.

I've been hitting the wall of improvement during the last days but thanks to @Tidgney's guide and @outlaw4rc's tips I managed to improve. 1:27.4xx. The good thing is that I found a faster pace and a new approach mostly because of @Tidgney's suggested brake marks in the corners where I struggled the most.

Also I would like to thank the support and useful advices from my friend @ODB. I owe you some beers.

Had a good run this evening - 3.33.6. For some reason everything just clicked. It did feel suspiciously like the grip fairy had been sprinkling grip dust as I could brake later and carry more speed through the corners??? Either that or just bring more confident and carrying more speed means more downforce and therefore grip??

I'm 379 in UK but 7.9 secs behind 1st place!!! Can't believe there is such a spread of time towards the top of the leader board?

I'm hoping to get back to this after 5 days of not lapping and I see that I've luckily timed it well to coincide with @Tidgney 's lap guide.

Thanks for all the tips, 1st class guides throughout the competition. 👍

Enjoy Le Mans.

Good advice. I have done this in the past, but over analyzing things just makes me more nervous when it comes to the actual driving. Nowadays I set a lap as best as possible without any outside help. Then I start watching other people's replays and use the data logger to see where I lose time. I just take the broad points (which corners are important to maximise exits, which braking points I'm losing most time, etc) instead of micro details (e.g. I need to exit this corner at exactly xxx speed). How I link those broad points are up to me. I find it works a lot better on my nerves.

Tidgney's guide is pretty much the icing on the cake for me. I use it to confirm brake markers for corners that I'm still inconsistent on, and just general tips and tricks to smooth out my lap. But as you said, everyone has their own style and I find it works better to stick with it and improve it instead of trying to copy someone else's style to the minutiae 👍

Glad it's helping guys, I realise brake markers won't necessarily be the quickest lap but as you say Legend it brings consistency so you can always be 1 tenth down on wolf for example rather than sometimes 2 or equal but then the corners where we struggle we can nail but knowing we are consistent somewhere else means we improve :D! It's a sneaky way of improving, but it's improving :D!!

I'll definitely enjoy Le Mans now I have a 25!! The game didn't half troll me tonight to get it... I redlined a 25.5xx.... basically slightly wide at first chicane, carried on for practice and got that lap! Then a red lined 25.7xx again same thing at first chicane and then, unbelievably (I swore after the 4th) I got 4 valid 26.0xx's... So I wasn't going to bed tonight until I got a 25.xxx and then a 3:25.854 appeared, not my best chicane, and my first porsche curve was shocking but I got there in the end. I did have a watch of wolfs lap before going on and noticed the 3rd gear for the chicane which did help on other laps not so much this one!

Will upload my lap tomorrow before I head off!

...and as expected, you zoom right past me.

haha :P!

Definitely hasn't been one of my favourites this especially with Tertre Rouge! My theoretical is easily a 24 from my splits (Matched or beaten wolf on every split at some point, of course he can probably go alot faster to!) but not a chance I'd get it without finding consistency at that one corner, kills me every lap! I'm really interested to see how this ends up, maybe even a Japan 1,2,3?? I was thinking that as soon as Japan was allowed to enter but certainly will be interesting!

I hate that corner. Only saving grace is that it is in the first sector, so if I blow the turn I am not wasting too much time on restarts.

So I hit my personal goal time that I set for my self. Wish everyone who makes the cut good luck!!

I know I can click off 25.3/4 but why waste my time when I'm locked in already :)

Was the track slippery today? May have been my driving but anytime i dipped bellow 3:32:00 I was sliding off in corners. Was sure I was using the normal lines. Can anyone help me with a tutorial on the data logger?

Well done sir. Where does that put you in the world? Also when you go to race camp could you do a Canadian a favor? Ask them why they didn't let Canada in? Would be great to know why. I am just about to crack the 26s but due to new baby the chances of me getting into the 25s in like finding a unicorn. Still number one in Canada though.

I'm currently 31 in the world, will ask just for you ;p

It's due to the different laws between all of us and Quebec. They legal hassles are just too much. You will have bragging rights and that's about it but you will also know it's a huge accomplishment.

Half the time, I clip the grass on the left just before I turn in. I don't even get a chance to hit the cone. :grumpy:

Completely wasted my time today. Couldn't even get a 26. You rest even a little and you forget how to drive. :dunce:

Why last year though. I agree with Quebec messing things up. You would think they just would have had to implement what they did last year. I think it's because there are not enough Canadians playing I'm top times.

Have managed to discard a few seconds over the last couple of days and am currently 3:32.127.
Never expected to get anywhere near this time and was wrapped to slip below 10 secs behind the leader.
All I have to do now is make up another second on each corner and I'm there.

Heh, after you told to stay under clear sky in that Spa thread I've followed your advice and already at Spa I was able to be more consistent than before when I was altering between cloudy/clear sky. Also on the last day of Spa I ran under cloudy sky and I was about to brake my record I had made under a clear sky... But after that stint I went for clear sky and really seemed like this transition messed up my driving somehow, car felt stiff or something and it really took me a while to get back to speed...

But yeah, "not to think about it and keep driving" is a great advice!!

Also what @Tidgney says on hes video something about not trying to be too agressive but just trying to keep steady pace around track works really well, seems like the less I "try" faster I go... Lol, keeping calm while under an adrenaline rush just is really freaking hard, also feels like on a really good lap that adrenaline makes me blind as a bat coming to ford chicanes making ping sounds trying to locate those cones

Heh nice to hear I've been able to help :dopey: 👍 Driving is "easy" fighting trough frustration is the hard part so really good to hear you got pass the wall

Heh, and as you're currently bit far a way to buy me those beers I think I'll treat myself with few after tonights stint so don't worry about them :D

Best of luck for everyone still pushing your boundaries

Here's my lap :)!

Still mistakes of course but I made my target at least! (Was those ranks at the time I had it, but Spurgy, someone from Japan and another person who I couldn't find jumped me in 15 minutes of getting it O.O! Crazy people!)

Good luck for the rest of the week guys!

Great lap buddie. What steering sensitivity and torque do you use? Do find benefits on different settings or did you just stick to what your used to?
