I've noticed a couple folks mention using multiple gt6 accounts. Can someone explain the benefits of more than one gt6 account? Thanks!
I suppose the obvious one is that if you have consistent times you are pushing someone else out of the top 10 or 20 or 50 or whatever, however, how that would actually benefit anyone is beyond me. Unless they just enjoy seeing someone a little further down the leader board. But we know people do it and they would only do it for some benefit to themselves.

I got my time down to 3:31.667, and in the first sector I can keep up with the top 20 ranks, but I lose time everywhere after starting at tetre rouge. I'm slowly starting to get the hang of that, and the chicanes, but the majority of my time is lost braking for the turn before indy, and then again at arnage. I've been watching and reading all these guides and some other peoples laps, but I just can't get it. I imagine it's because I mash the throttle trying to come out of those two corners. Any tips to get the most traction?
Need to brake hard enough at Indy so you can get a great launch for the short chute. For Arnage, pretty much keep the car moving in 1st on exit and go to 2nd the moment the car's straight.

Knocked my time further down to a 3:26.219 but just had a horrible moment. On one flier, I went an sliver too wide approaching Mulsanne. Kept going anyways because I had nailed just about everything up to that point.

That was a 3:25.895.

That's not too far from 25's :dopey: what sort of splits are you pushing after Mulsanne? I can occasionally get 57.5's but I figure that's not quite enough for 25's unless the ending is absolutely miraculous... Pffft, really fun track to do hot lapping but damn it's tough :crazy:

The .219 was a 57.53 while I believe the red 25 was a .2 something. That means on my end, I have to up three tenths before reaching Mulsanne. Not going to be easy.

Heh no it isn't... I can just imagine how it's possible to do .3 but so far I have managed only few times .5 so not going to easy is a very good way to put it :D heheh, naah, it's actually first day this summer that it's over 20 decrees outside so I might have to go and take a look what the good ol' sun looks like :D actually looking at my today's splits I would like to look directly to the sun... :lol:

:cheers:

I just did a 600 on the odometer and I am unable to beat my PB at the moment, sitting at 82nd. May any of you guys join me tonight to see what I am doing wrong? I won't get off work until after Midnight EST if anyone wants to help =D

Can I say this car is quite terrible? 15 minutes of attempts and I barely did 3:33 (really much improvable). But it's not the time what bothers me, but the car itself.
- FF car, really inconceivable for a LMP;
- FFB is terrible, I got it 1 for both settings and on my DFGT it gives just smashes without true feeling. And they hit quite hard, wheel looks like about to break;
- Cockpit view is impossible to use, you have absolutely no vision of what happens around the car, lot of times I went out of the track when I though to be inside even with outer tires;
- Probably even a bad tire-wheel lock proportion, usually on rFactor 2 and Assetto Corsa I can turn a lot with low steering, even with base setup. Here? I have to full 180° rotate the wheel to run some tight corners.

Have some movement back in my wrist now and managed to get back on today to knock a tenth of my time to a 26.5, so frustrating because I can see a 25 but can't seem to string anything together. This round is testing me.

31:224 | 1:05.740 | 1:33.840 | 1:57.307 | 2:26.124 | 2:56.024 = 3:25.990

That's it for me. Can I go faster? Yes but doing so would violate the Geneva Convention for torturing my poor aching hands. There's a few more things I learned since I wrote up my lengthy tutorial. I'll jot them down below:

First Chicane - Started to stay in 2nd. Throttle management is everything for the exit. Mashing the gas and causing excess wheelspin on exit is slower even though it may feel faster.

Tertre Rouge - Went back to sticking with 3rd just so I don't have to think about the downshift. The boost is quite annoying because how much I get is never consistent.

Playstation/Michelin Chicane
Be careful with your downshifts. That had been my problem all this time. If you're too aggressive, you'll have less grip for the initial turn-in which screws up everything else. You can do the same for Mulsanne although I've gotten used to my method already.

Arnage - Similar idea to the first chicane but more difficult. The arc needs to be smooth and the application of throttle needs to be a steady rise. Didn't quite get it, though. Braked a fraction too soon and burned up the fronts too much on exit.

Porsche Curves/Maison Blanche - Biggest change of tactics from before. Start backing off gas for the left after the split but don't lift completely and stay in 4th gear. It's a delicate balancing act between keeping up the speed while turning. Anything less than 100% and the Nissan holds the line rather well. The last left is where you can really gain time if you can be gentle with the turn and dip the throttle just right.

After watching Le Mans start last night I got inspired to make a few more laps. Track felt really grippy for some reason, and I knocked off my previous best by 1 second in 3 laps :crazy: I'm now down to 3.28.9xx :D Pretty chuffed with myself since my target was to get into the low 3.29. Now the pressure is off and I can just put in laps for fun ;)

Oh, and top tip: using Wolf's technique of using higher gears really helps a lot. It may feel counterintuitive because you lose engine braking and rotation, but you end up being smoother and less wheelspin on the exit. Give it a try if you've run out of ideas 👍

Also, has anyone does a super slow lap to see how many players there are in total? It's annoying how we can't see this info since I like to compare myself in percentages.

Round 4: 85.419 players.[until now]

3:27,250 with the DS3 👍 I can't go faster..

That is impressive. I haven't been able to go faster than 3:38:812 with the DS3 which is almost 2 seconds from gold. I'm not one of the fast guys but normally I gold seasonals with ease. Here though, I can't understand how it is possible to get gold with a DS3. Going almost 10 seconds below that is completely out of this world.

I got a 3.36.5 a week ago with no aids except ABS and a lot of frustration. Turning off all aids and never using first makes the car faster.

Man, the time you've done is just insane with a pad, and not especially on this round by the way.

I just done a 3.26.3, a bit out of nowhere since this was my 5th stint on this... thing :lol:
I won't go back for a last shot like the previous rounds :lol:

I'm not that insane, and when I see the french leaderboard... uh, where are they gone? :lol:

One last video but it's not a fast lap. Because of how "great" this final round was for everyone, it needed a special tribute:

would have been better if you had someone swearing everytime it happened, we all know we have when i fast 1 was ruined
