How cool would it be to have a Porsche powered Oreca 05 with a Porsche 911 nose and tail?

This makes me moist!

Not gonna lie, I sorta got thrown off by the number on hood so I instantly thought it was returning.

I'm going to miss the Z4 GTLM, its such a great looking car, I prefer it over its GT3 counterpart,
Yeah the Z4 GTLM was a fantastic looking car, a refined version of the GT3 car. I too am going to miss it qnd it's fantastic NA V8. :(

Though will we see an M6 in Pennzoil colours in GTLM?
I hope to God that P&M revive the 2009 GT1 livery or something. I miss that livery, it'd make the C7.R look twice as good. I'm Corvette fan, but I find the solid yellow livery kinda boring. If that Pennzoil livery did happen on the M6 GTLM's, they'd defiantly need to make the change.

When are we going to see the Panzer GTLM...:sly:...I mean M6 GTLM anyway? :P

Shank and HPD getting the upgrades ready. http://www.racer.com/imsa/item/123334-imsa-shank-preparing-to-test-honda-dp-engine

ESM plans to be at the Roar and 24hr and might race at Sebring but the schedule is tight with the WEC test and Paul Ricard according to Scott Sharp. There was no mention of what cars they plan to race,or which HPD engine they plan to use.

And Walker has nothing going on at the moment. http://www.racer.com/imsa/weatherte...5-imsa-walker-continues-search-for-gt-program Maybe Morand can hire these guys to crew the Morgan Judd NAEC program if they dont find a customer's car to crew.

Best part:

With the added displacement, more than 600 hp should be on tap, and thanks to Honda Performance Development's efforts to pare weight from the engine, the 3.5L unit is expected to have a favorable impact on the Ligier's handling

Between this and the added power for the Judd engine, its about damn time P2 cars got horsepower back to the 2007 range. I always found the ACO's production based rule dumb considering Judd makes no engines for road cars.

It has had a nose job. Pertamina is the Indonesian state oil company btw.

Edit: After reading the story that car belongs to Lamborghini.:embarrassed:

Can someone bring me up to speed with the whole DPi idea, is it just 2017 LMP2 renamed with DP officially dead or is it a more expansive version of 2017 LMP2?

It's LMP2 cars with GT3-esc crate engines (essentially) and a nose and tail from the manufacturer that is providing the power. DP will be buried, but they wanted a ridiculously awful name so they just added a letter to the end of the old class' name. I don't believe it's required for the manufacturer to make bodywork, but it's an option. Engines allowed are everything up to a V10, the biggest the V10 can be is 5.2 liters (that's not suspicious or anything).

To sum it up, think of it like: Oreca 05 Cadillac ATS-V, Ligier JS-P2 Honda NSX, Dallara (LMP2) Porsche 911, Riley (LMP2) Audi R8.

That actually seems quite interesting, feels like LMP2 and DP actually merged using DP ideas into LMP2.

Better than DP vs. LMP2, it has been so broken throughout the run of USC in favour of DP.
