How is he to going to fit in the team when they already have the likes of Lacazette, Fekir, Cornet, Valbuena and even Ghezzal who all have been excellent this season.
That's Lyon's and Depay's problem to solve. I'm sure they'll rotate a bit.

And what a belter it was too. Stoke defended very well but United should have done better with their 25 or so shots.

Arsenal 1-0 up v Burnley, Mustafi's first goal for the club, they had Xhaka sent off a bit after that.

Costa straight back into the Chelsea eleven for the Hull game, who have a couple of their new signings starting.

Edit: Penalty for Burnley in stoppage time, GRAY SCORES!! 1-1!!!

Edit Arsenal penalty now, all kicking off here! Sanchez to take, and he scores!, 2-1!! Wenger sent to the stands too...

I don't understand why people, in this instance Arsene Wenger, still deny things that obviously happened and would have been captured on camera. "The feed cut to you as you seemingly pushed the 4th official" "no no no". The camera shows him push him 2 or 3 times. It's silly for him to deny that when there was always going to be a camera on him to see his reaction to getting sent to the stands.

Ryan Mason suffered a fractured skull after a clash of heads with Gary Cahill in the Chelsea 2-0 Hull game, he had to have an operation to stop a bleeding in the brain but is now in a stable condition, wishing him a speedy recovery 👍

Yeah that was quite a nasty clash, hopefully he's fit and well again soon.

Yaya Toure has said that Raheem Sterling should have dived to win a penalty in the Spurs game. Lovely.
It's easy to see where he's coming from. Marriner's poor decision most certainly cost City the game.
Stonewall penalty and a straight red for Walker. Instead Spurs go straight up the other end and equalize.

Sterling's "honesty" cost City the three points. Walker and Spurs got rewarded for cheating.

Poor officiating like this will only encourage more simulation.

That was utterly fantastic @daan , he also did the impossible and got us a home Scottish Cup tie.

Never thought I'd see the day.

Arsene Wenger charged with misconduct after appearing to shove fourth official Anthony Taylor as he was sent to the stands yesterday, he did apologise for his actions afterwards.

West Ham reject a third bid for Payet from Marseille, who say they will now pursue other targets.

Genuinely quite saddened by this - Wenger has always struck me as a gentleman and one of the sport's good guys, so for him to be charged for something like this is really bad... it is good that he has apologised, but I would expect the FA will come down on him like a tonne of bricks, and rightly so. I hate to say it, but Arsenal have stuck by Wenger through thick and thin, but this type of thing could hasten the end of the Wenger era - there are those who think that Wenger should be moving on anyway, and this will just add to the pressure on him already... shame.

Very good news about Ryan Mason, he is now conscious and talking and was visited by some of his Hull team-mates and by three Chelsea players 👍

Maybe his reputation for diving when not being fouled is what swayed the referee to dismiss that one. Sterling's no saint when it comes to diving, he's on the floor far too easily. The only oddity is that he didn't go down dramatically when he was fouled. Spurs didn't cheat though, they played to the whistle, the referee decides to stop play or not, not the Spurs players.

Sterling is far from alone when it comes to going down far too easily, but I think players that have a reputation are more likely to not get a free kick/penalty when they actually are fouled.

cheat
tʃiːt/
verb
gerund or present participle: cheating
1
.
act dishonestly or unfairly in order to gain an advantage.

From my analysis of the situation that's a perfect description of what Walker did.

In the end though it's the referee who has to make the call and in this case he got it wrong, IMO.

What the hell's going on at Middlesborough? Karanka's odds to be the next Premier League manager to lose his job have plunged to 1/2! For comparison, Moyes is his nearest challenger at 5/1.

I think too many teams get promoted thinking they'll just walk into the top half. When that doesn't happen thought number one is "sack the manager" even though they were the ones to get them to the PL in the first place.

Big game in the Championship tonight, its the postponed match between Brighton and Cardiff and if Brighton win they go top, Fulham v Reading also on, League cup semi final second legs is this week too.

Ok fair enough, I should have phrased that better. I mean that anyone would have played to the whistle the same way. A foul isn't a foul unless the referee blows his whistle really since there's no reaction against it, even though it is a foul, if you know what I mean. Unless it's dangerous and wasn't seen at all by the referee of course, then retrospective punishment applies.

Did Sterling cheat by being offside in the buildup?

Clearly offside.

Even the commentator emphasised that it was onside.

Alexander Isak dubbed as the future Ibrahimovic has joined Dortmund. Ousmane Dembele has excelled this season in replacement of Mkhitaryan plus Emre Mor and Pulisic being a regular in the squad with Reus being hampered with injuries and now Isak to join them up top, it's going to be a bright future for Dortmund.

Deulofeu has joined AC Milan on loan, this could provide some competition for Suso who has been on top form so far.

Dortmund have one hell of a youth team/scouting network. Whever they lose a big player oir two you think, this time they'll be in trouble, but no, in comes someone you've probably never heard of before who fits in really well and the team still stays close to the top of the league.
