2016 Formula 1 Grand Premio de MexicoFormula 1

Errr is the race in 18 minutes? Cuz that's what F1.com says but NBC isn't showing the race until 3(1 hr 18 min)
The clocks went back in the UK last night, so we're now on GMT/UTC. It may be that formula1.com is still displaying BST.

It is currently 5.55pm GMT. The race starts at 7pm GMT.

Ok so are we going to take bets on what stops the Mercedes from directly racing on track yet again?

4/6 a bad start for one of them sends them down the pack
5/1 a collision sends one of them down the pack or out
6/1 a mechanical issue for one of them
10/1 they stay together on track but they just never get close to each other after T1

Or maybe, just maybe.....

100/1 they stay close together and have a thrilling on track battle, with multiple overtakes back and forth.

What about both of them getting bad starts? Both of them colliding? Both of them having a failure?

It's such a long run to turn 1 here I think it's a given that they won't be first and second by turn 1. As for who leads by then it's anyone's guess.

I'm really getting sick of the Channel 4 highlight reel being churned out every five seconds, having to hear Ben Edwards screaming after the Mercs hit each other in Spain and Hamilton crying no no after his engine blew in Malaysia. They have full coverage this weekend and there is basically nothing to talk about besides who will be the first finisher behind Mercedes, Red Bull and Ferrari.

Why was Lewis standing up front with the dignitaries (and Bernie Ecclestone) at the anthem ceremony?

The anthem ceremony was a bit of a shambles - the horn section sounded like something straight from Frank Zappa's 200 Motels, the kids were out of tune, the planes flying over head were out of line with each other and the giant flag in the crowd was knotted... still, an entertaining start to proceedings - let's just hope that is not the highlight of the day!

I've got high hopes for the race today, the WEC race earlier this year was pretty good so I'm hoping we get a bit more excitement than last year. Run to the first corner will be very interesting.

If it's half as good as last night's Super Formula race it should be good

Unless he's an ambassador probably because he's defending champion.

Yeah, a cringeworthy fanfare followed by five seconds of orchestra and then the actual anthem sung acapella didn't really work.

I'll take bad start by Hamilton for 100, please.

You can still see the WEC sign on the tarmac still in the Stadium, and the Formula E chicane on Peraltada
