A 24 hour race is more than just the 24 hours in the race itself. I don't care if anyone disagrees with me, I don't care if I look like an arse, Porsche won with sheer luck, not with performance, again. Toyota lost with a stupid defect for the 4th time, this is not fair and I will say it as often as I want.

To all "rational" folks out there, this are my thought's exactly. Numbers are just numbers and trophies are worthless publicity stunts when they're won this way.

Bet that just like all other failures of this ilk, the bit of the Toyota that broke is probably worth about £1. That always seems to get brought up eventually...and always makes it sadder.

Well since it was the car that broke down, then Toyota did lose by performance as it couldn't perform the 24 Hours

So you think it is right that they got a stop/go penalty for a ACO supplied lightbulb failure? Half the field ran thru the night w/o RHD lights and leader lights that worked and none of them received a penalty.
The #82 Ferrari got the penalty because they ignored the order from the race director to come into the pits to fix the light. Multiple cars got the same call into the pits through the race and everyone came in to fix the lights.
The rules say that the lights have to work and if they don't you have to come into the pit and fix it. And we can debate now all we want how much sense this rule does make or not.

It is unnecessary when it is 17 mins until the end when its open daylight. But when it is about to embark on into the night then it would be a reasonable penalty to give.

I was beside myself with joy when Porsche returned to le mans in 2014. I was overjoyed when the took the crown from Audi last year. But today is just sad. To watch someone be robbed, not only of a race victory, but to be disqualified as well. Porsches 18th victory at le mans will forever stand as a hollow victory in my book.

How it's not like they sandbagged in pre-LM testing and then their second place competitor runs the risk of of disquali because of a leader light...

It's not like Porsche was far behind, they were still on the lead lap and ahead of the #6. Clearly they were pretty close performance wise.

Now if one of the Audi's had won from 12 laps down I could understand the undeserving winner title.

Well done to Alpine. While the drama explodes on for Toyota (with good reason, what a shocker), and to a lesser extent the #82 Ferrari being penaltied for a tiny light not working in the day time. The Alpine did an amazing job at just pushing along flawlessly to a win in P2. Great drive.

So basically it boils down to you just being annoyed at who has been at the top several times, and this just isn't fair? If you didn't catch it before welcome to Le Mans. If the car failed them it failed them, the only case I see right now as an injustice to the race is if the 82 gets disqualified

What teams did they destroy? P1 is like F1, Toyota has had aero that too has been claimed as a violation and allowed to race, so your argument doesn't hold water. I'm sorry they lost, but we shouldn't argue based on emotional investment.
Of course it pisses me off that one corporation is always the lucky winner.
Yes, Porsche did a good job, but they still didn't deserve it as much.

I don't hate on Porsche, I'm not having any grief with them, but they still got it handed to them in an unbelievable brutal and unfair way. It's not Porsche's fault, but they also didn't win because of their performance.

Very unsportsmanlike comments from you. Not really grown up yourself if you're going to attack anyone upset at Toyota's loss.

I'm not the one trying to take everything away from Porsche and saying nothing is worse than a Porsche fan. (which I an not btw)

Nothing wrong with being upset but acting like a whiny baby doesn't help anything.

While I am convinced that I am Mr. Jinx (everything I rooted for will suffer at last), this year's LM reminded me of the saying that luck was part of the ability.

1. I'm very hung over, and awoke to watch the worst end in the history of any race I've watched, this decade.

2. I'm not really THAT serious bruh

3. I'm not going to sit here and let these silly VAG fans (Nothing worse than a Porsche Fan IMHO), let this go to their head.

4. No one can argue that Porsche didn't WIN this race, Toyota just LOST it.

Haha, and you think this "rebuttal" makes you a badass? As I said I feel bad for Toyota, but to finish first, first you must finish. Just like Audi did in 2010, Porsche deserved this win simply because their car lasted the 24 hours. And guess what? One of the Porsches also finished well down the order. They were pretty much on pace with Toyota throughout the race, trading the lead for the majority of the race.

As far as I'm concerned you're just a kid, who throws up a hissy fit when something doesn't go your way.

People expecting others who have stayed up all night only to see their car lose in the worst way I have ever seen in any motor race ever not to be upset and angry?

What planet are you guys from?

Toyota deserved victory, I absolutely will not under any circumstance congratulate Porsche for winning this. I don't care in the slightest if people think that makes me a bad sport.

So gutted for the Toyota guys, they did everything right only for it to go wrong this close to the end :(. Not that Porsche didn't deserve it any less, but still such a bitter pill to swallow.

Well anyway, massive congrats to Porsche, Alpine, Ford, and Ferrari, and huge respect to Fred Sausset and the Toyota guys.
