People expecting others who have stayed up all night only to see their car lose in the worst way I have ever seen in any motor race ever not to be upset and angry?

What planet are you guys from?

Toyota deserved victory, I absolutely will not under any circumstance congratulate Porsche for winning this. I don't care in the slightest if people think that makes me a bad sport.

It's ok to be angry, but be angry with Toyota for not making their car last the full distance, not Porsche.

Haha, and you think this "rebuttal" makes you a badass? As I said I feel bad for Toyota, but to finish first, first you must finish. Just like Audi did in 2010, Porsche deserved this win simply because their car lasted the 24 hours. And guess what? One of the Porsches also finished well down the order. They were pretty much on pace with Toyota throughout the race, trading the lead for the majority of the race.

As far as I'm concerned you're just a kid, who throws up a hissy fit when something doesn't go your way.

Careful. Logic isn't allowed in this thread now it seems.

Of course it pisses me off that one corporation is always the lucky winner.
Yes, Porsche did a good job, but they still didn't deserve it as much.

Good we agree on the bold part

I don't hate on Porsche, I'm not having any grief with them, but they still got it handed to them in an unbelievable brutal and unfair way. It's not Porsche's fault, but they also didn't win because of their performance.

So shall we spend the rest of the day going through history of Le Mans and pointing out who got "handed victories" who is the one that does this I'm curious? No one handed anything to anyone Porsche were in the shadow all game long, and were there to pounce if something were to happen, and that's endurance racing. IF you haven't figured it out by now, let me be blunt...it's not for you.

:gtpflag:

My bruh!

It's funny how it's all boiling down to rationality/emotion, so we'll never agree here. We can keep calling each other silly names but, at the end of the day, that's the truth.

And I clearly pick emotion.

It is unnecessary when it is 17 mins until the end when its open daylight. But when it is about to embark on into the night then it would be a reasonable penalty to give.
Again: if the rules say the lights have to work all the time, they have to work all the time. It might be complete nonsense, but those are the rules and every team knows them and agreed to follow them with entering the race.

Well, they did because they had managed to push it right until the end and win.
I am not saying Porsche didn't deserve it, I say Toyota deserved it more.
It wouldn't have hurt the Porsche guys much if they didn't win this one, but the whole Toyota crew is devastated now.

Toyota winning, Porsche second = Everyone happy
What we have now = Porsche and Audi happy with luck, Toyota guys hurt deeply

Again, massive congratulations to Frédéric Sausset for finishing the race!!
Yes we should not forget, that they competed well, ran well and executed well. Sausset is a hero to all. A quadruple amputee finished Le Mans successfully and drove like a champ. Well done sir, be proud at your accomplishment, you have just finished the 24 Hours of Le Mans. :gtpflag:  Hopefully we see him race more, he definitely showed that it's possible.

This is completely irrational.

And yet, perfectly valid.

(And if you must ask why something irrational can be valid, take a Philosophy 101 course and don't waste my time).

Anybody who wins Le Mans deserves it, I'm sorry that the Toyota retired as they all are nice guys and deserved to win. At the end of the day though the same could happen with the cars switched. You have to finish the race to win.

I just hope Toyota see encouragement from this and come back to try again next year. Everybody who entered the races deserves congratulations whether finished or not, or if they won, were on the podium or last in their class.

I hope that Toyota will not cancel their LMP1 program like Nissan did because of this ****** last 5 minutes.

I agree, it would be silly for them to give up. I can't possibly imagine they can get a more heart wrenching result next year, so the only way to go is up... In a way.

Obviously, you have NEVER raced in anything, or probably ever done anything other than "Virtual Racing", meanwhile I have an entire Trophy Room at my $1.2 Home I built with earnings from my 22 years of Racing Competitively...

It doesn't matter, every team with that stature has come here to win. You don't expect the time and money invested to come in second place but strive to getting first.

So Porsche won. No denying that. It's a 24 hour race, and Toyota couldn't manage the last 5 minutes. I wouldn't say Toyota got unlucky, as things don't just break out of the blue. Whether it be a wire that broke loose, a piece of metal that broke or something else, either the driver pushed too hard or Toyota didn't make the car of a high enough quality.

However, I still feel bad for them. Being the leader for most of the race and then failing with 5 minutes to go. That must be heartbreaking. I'd hate to be one of the drivers.

I haven't cried in years but seeing Kazuki pulling over and being passed for the lead on the final lap was just too much. It was even more difficult as I was on TGRFans duty for the final 3.5h.

I had 2 graphics done to celebrate but they are in the Recycle Bin now.

Yes and Porsche did it already 17 times before, so why not "grant" it Toyota at least once?

That's a pretty awful excuse to act like a child.
