A high risk move and probably unnecessary but probably not what I'd call boneheaded. I bet he is regretting binning it at Aragon now though...

He fundamentally misjudged the position of the guy that he had literally just passed. I don't know what he was expecting, cutting in that early. Like I said, Antonelli couldn't back out, because they were racing in a pack.

I watched the qualifying on motogp.com and I really like how you can
mute the commentators and keep only the ambient sounds of the engines and
track surroundings. It's a whole other viewing experience when you can
form your own opinions, plus mgp's commentators can be a bit annoying
at times.

Did you see Marquez elbow save in QP2? That was a good one.

And I haven't seen equal qualifying times since Heinz-Harald Frentzen
and somebody else had equal times in Jerez in '97 I think it was.

Awesome race, amazing last lap from MM. I hate to say it, but Rossi just doesn't have that extra 1% of pace when he needs it - getting such behind Pedrosa at Aragon and Iannone here is probably going to cost him. He needs to really put it out of reach at Sepang and i think to do that, he needs rain.

Incredible race. Iannone was on fire, where was Dovi, his team mate? (13th :dunce:)

Still hope Rossi can grab his 10th World Title but it is a long way from done. Only have to wait till next week for the next race.
Rain is certainly a possibility in Sepang.

Well it's Sepang.. ;)

He did win his last title at Sepang so I can live in hope!

I think even if you are no Rossi fan (not sure if that is possible) you'd like to see him take the championship, for the 10th time :D My feelings say it is the last possible time for Rossi..

For such a competitive championship it is rarely this close approaching the last couple of races, I hope Rossi wins it in the last corner at Valencia.

That was the most incredible race I've seen for a long time, it was like Moto 3! Hopefully it will be like that every race when everyone is using the same electronics haha :)
I counted 8 overtakes on the last lap, not bad.

What's that coming over the hill is it a monster is it a monsterrr?!

Got some spare time and watched the last two WSBK races at Qatar. Absolutely stunning, what a season too. Can't wait for next year. Let's see if Michael van der Mark can score his first win :D Or in his own words, first season is to learn, second season is to get the championship

I'm really looking forward to next year as well, Davies outscored Rea in the latter part of the season so it will be a close one. With the Yamaha coming back and Hayden on the Honda it should be more fun, hopefully someone can find a bike for Josh Brookes, he wiped the floor with everyone in probably the most competitive national championship around.

Looks like Josh will WSBK next year possibly partnering Karbel Abarham in the SMR (Shaun Muir) team. Manufacture wise looks like staying with Yamaha with Milwaukee backing.

Back to MotoGP and I'm sure some of yous may have seen the conspiracy theories flying round since Philip Island. According to Itailian media MM was assisting JL. I'm not sure but when you think about it MM was towing VR up to the back of JL midway through. The gap was about 1.6-1.8 and and they got to under a second behind. Then MM looked over his shoulder and backed the pace down and the gap to JL raised to over 1.5 sec again. The theory is MM was protecting JL from VR keeping the gap and also that brought IAN into the battle. MM clearly had the pace to win this race a lot easier than what he made, just look at how easy he could pull JL in especially on the last lap! The incidents between MM and VR at Argentina and Assen are the supposed motive. I like a good conspiracy lol!

Anyways it's going to an exciting end to the season! FORZA VALE!

EDIT: It all kicked of at today's press conference! Rossi accused Marcquez of helping JL! Obviously MM denied this! Rossi also brought the lap times chart from the race at Philip Island when speaking to the media outside of the official conference! Going to be a tasty Spegang GP!

Great qualifying in Sepang. Very quick lap for Dani. Incredible recovery once again by Marquez in turn 12.

And Rossi in front of Lorenzo in qualifying.👍

Some interesting moves between Marquez and Rossi in FP4.

That came out of nowhere for Pedrosa, 4 tenths faster than Marquez and 7 tenths faster than the pole record set last year by Marc!

EDIT I have to say, it was a bit funny when Lorenzo thought he qualified 3rd but when he went to the parc ferme they told him he was 4th and he stalled the bike so they had to push him to the garage!

MM towing Lorenzo around in the first part of qualifying - the grub. 👎

Hopefully both Honda riders clear off into the distance and its VR vs JL 👍

Hopefully that's the case. I think this time Dani has very good race pace so MM will have to go with him which in turn should leave VR v JL to battle it out as I don't think the Yamaha boys will be able to run with the Hondas. I think VR has the dry pace to run with and beat JL! Forza Vale!!

Gripping stuff in the race, but I'm worried Marquez will Marquez into Rossi. He's clearly trying to support Lorenzo's title bid, but he's likely to take Rossi out.

Disgraceful from Rossi.
Disgraceful from Marquez. Some of those moves that he was making were bloody stupid - how many times did they touch? Half a dozen? And how many times did he cut Rossi off and fotce him to back out of an accident? It was an accident waiting to happen, and not the kind that just sees a rider going down in a low-side - the kind that Marco Simoncelli had. It might have been dirty of Rossi, but something had to give, and Marquez ought to know that if you're not racing for the title, you don't do anything that endangers the race of a title contender. And I suspect that that is argument Rossi will make. That, and he only moved to slow Marquez down and send him a message; Marquez fell on his own. Rossi just hastened the inevitable, but did it at a safe speed.
