Well, it's a good thing the stewards aren't making their decisions based on how much they care for a rider or not. Fact remains that Iannone's starting to become a liability out there.
back of the grid start for Assen.

So instead he'll wipe someone out turn 1 trying to make up places

I hope Iannone gets a race ban. He was far too back to even think about a move. In the words of John Cleland 'the man's an animal'

I thought Rossi's celebrations were a bit over the top really, but nice to see him and marc shake hands.

That's one of the reasons he's so popular, entertaining the crowd on and off the track.
Don't think it was over the top imo.

The handshake and little chat on the podium giving me mixed feelings.I actually don't know how to feel about it.
I'm glad that they can show respect again to each other but the price to pay it (someones life) was high.
I don't think if Luis passed away friday, this would have happened and that they would have continued their (ridilicous) fued.
JL was unlucky today.
Still can't stand that VR lovers chearing when JL or MM crash out.

It was a simple, honest mistake and in no way deserving of a race ban. If they banned Iannone, they would have to ban Viñales, too, since he was constantly making the same mistake and misjudging his brake marker. He did it half a dozen times in a single lap.

Iannone says JL hit the brakes much earlier and claims he (Iannone) started braking at the same place as the lap before. No idea how much of this is true, but it's possible it is a bit of both. The gap was so big, it can't be just Iannone missing his brake marker.

He also argued Jorge was being defensive but had a fair gap there.

Regardless of if it was a mistake there was plenty of time to react and it's something Iannone keeps doing. He's quick by not learning. A race ban and firm talking too did wonders for grosjean. Would be a shame to see him go

It's true Lorenzo was on the defensive. He was plummeting like a lead weight - Iannone passing him was an inevitably.

Sad week-end but good race, Rossi did very well and it was so good hearing the crowd cheer like mad when Rossi overtook Marquez for the first time even if we were in Spain. It just show the level of support and Love Rossi gets wherever he drives.

Very strange of Lorenzo he seems like he got hit by a hammer when Rossi overtook him and couldn't recover after that. Did we know if he had any trouble with his bike ?

Iannone and Kvyat should go find some help together

I wonder why too, but nothing. It was from the start Jorge was struggling and he hasn't given an excuse yet

Can you imagine an AA meeting like that. 'Hi. My name is Danil and everyone says i'm too aggressive, but I disagree'

It was shown in ultra slow motion during the race , Lorenzo front tires was bad, then shortly after, he got nudged by Iannone.

The craziest thing about Salom's crash its the fact it was almost similiar to what happen to Daijiro Kato...

I'm curious if this stat will keep standing after sunday.
Since i'm attending the Dutch GP @ Assen since 2011 there's some kind a patron in victories by the manufacturers.
2011 Spies (Yamaha)
2012 Stoner (Honda)
2013 VR46 (Yamaha)
2014 MM93 (Honda)
2015 VR46 (Yamaha)
2016... (Honda ????????)

I miss Alex Barros on the grid. He was a great rider who rode with passion, was never dirty (from what I saw), always professional and very fast. He had a good career against quality opposition.

Aleix Espargaró has been tipped to join Gresini Aprillia next year - which means both Stefan Bradl and Álvaro Bautista will be out.

Judging by the last 2 years at Assen I expect it to be a close one between Marquez and Rossi, the last corner often produces a good bit of drama especially in Moto3.

Pedrosa really off the pace in Q1 (where he shouldn't even be in the first place). Lots of riders down this session.

Q2 could go either way now. Very tricky conditions from what you can see on the TV.

My commentators just mentioned that Assen's got a new 10-year contract with MotoGP to continue to host races. That's nice, Assen is a place with so much history and it should always be present in the sport.

Edit;
Marquez is off and he "stole" a scooter to get to the pits.
He's got 7 minutes to go.

I think the stewards need to sit down and rewatch that last lap. They were all focusing on the final sector, where all but Fenati and Bagnaia went off. It's not good they went off, however understandable due to the slipstream and it being last lap, and no advantage was really gained.

But they're ignoring the most important track abuse, Bagnia coming out of the final chicane. He got on the gas a lot earlier than Migno, went off the track and took the win.

I do like Bagnaia, I think he's had an incredible season and have been hoping he gets a first win, however if they penalize Migno then surely they need to look at that?

Migno was penalised because he ran on the green tarmac. Getting on the red part is generally acceptable, because I don't think it's tarmac. Whatever gain might be made is offset by the material.

Meanwhile, Taka Nakagami has taken his first win in the Moto2 race.

Hmmm, getting tight at the top of the Moto2 standings.

Great Moto3 race - a bit disappointing Binder didn't drive his advantage home but can't fault him for riding on the ragged edge. Was a breathless last lap and a good result for the Mahindra boys.
