That's a discussion I'd love to get into, but that's for a different thread and topic.

Texas this Saturday night. I bet it comes down to Dixon/Montoya/Castroneves/RHR for the win. :indiff:

Somebody should make a thread for that.

Don't truly like the 1.5 mile ovals, flat tracks/short tracks like Milwaukee, Phoenix and Iowa are the most fun to watch. Hopefully it's a good race though.

Not a fan of the high banked stuff with Indycar either. They have a track record of being dangerous.

Though, with that being said, I'd rather see them race at Michigan International Speedway instead of Belle Isle.

And @GTPorsche

MIS would be nice too, especially since Fontana got dropped. I'd also like to see a return to Kentucky Speedway. It's a 1 1/2 mile but the banking isn't that bad (14 degrees)

Kentucky would be good. It's been repaved recently so the crazy bumps aren't there any more. Anything at or less than 18 degrees of banking works for Indycar. I stop there because anything more has been NASCAR'd and doesn't work for the Indycars any longer.

I wish someone remade Nazareth, Iowa is the best oval on the calender imo even beats the Indy 500 for me.

Problem with Nazareth is they prepared to demolish it but didn't so they put large dirt mounds on the racing surface. And not too many seem bothered by it.

In my opinion the only time the pits should be closed is if the reason for the caution is near the pits. It takes way too much time doing it like they currently do.

Pits should be open but they shouldn't allocate laps for people to pit, the safety car should be out for as few laps as possible.

I personally like having everybody group up with the pace car and then pitting. put's more emphasis on pit crews to do well because track position on a restart can be decided by inches in the pit lane.

Texas should provide a great show as they usually do. Some people don't say that Texas Motor Speedway is the spiritual home of IndyCar racing for nothing. The high speeds and intense action make this course insane for IndyCar. I'm looking for this race to be as dramatic as just about any other.

And as I mentioned previously, every race from here on out is on the NBC networks. So unless there is a federal mandate that the ESPN/ABC IndyCar commentary crew cover the remaining IndyCar Series races, you're going to be hearing from the likes of Leigh Diffey, Rick Allen, and whomever else call the action.

Good luck to all drivers and teams this weekend at Texas. I hope Mother Nature plays nice and doesn't try to ruin everything.

3 races in 3 weeks??? The season is so short, spread it out already!!!!

We need at least 1 more oval before the Indy 500, and a big oval like Michigan,

I don't really have a problem with condensing the schedule with so many races in so little time. My biggest problem is ending the season so early fearing more people will watch football and postseason baseball over IndyCar Racing. I mean, come on. Let the season go into late October. Maybe early November. I'm still going to watch racing no matter what college football or pro football is on TV.

The Michigan people are interested in a Indycar return but have said they are too busy making money hosting concerts/music festivals that pay them to be there.

^The sign of a circuit in need of new management and ownership....

Not really. They are doing what a lot of race tracks do.
But during racing season and not being truly wanting of another event, Indycar no less, is kinda annoying. :indiff: It just reminds me of COTA that's all.

Well, it is an open venue, in the northern US. When do you want them to host concerts? And with IndyCar not very budging on their scheduling, what choice does Michigan have? They have a business plan that works and if IndyCar does not want to meet them halfway, then don't bend over for them.
