Having finally seen the second Detroit race today, I gotta say I was surprised to see the ABC crew acknowledge not only the existence of the Texas race, but also the fact it's on NBC.

But during racing season and not being truly wanting of another event, Indycar no less, is kinda annoying. It just reminds me of COTA that's all.

Look at it this way. Owning a track is a business venture. If you've got event promoters coming to you, telling you that they'l bring ______ to your venue and will pay you $____ to do so, you're going to take those deals.

If you've got a racing series that barely gets attendance outside of Indianapolis and Long Beach, and they aren't willing to pay to play, you're going to not accept their offers.

Also, COTA doesn't happen because Eddie Gossage doesn't want race series that compete at his speedway that sits north of Dallas running other races in Texas because it takes away from his venue.

That's probably why Bristol is hosting football games, their race attendance is falling and they need the money.

How far do you have your camera zoomed on those pics? If that's your view with no zoom than I would say you have good seats, close enough to see the cars but far enough back to see a good chunk of the track.

That said, we've had more rain in the last month than I can ever remember. West of here towns are still partially flooded. It's been a weird 2016.

Based on the way the track is not drying now and the forecast for more rain tomorrow I would guess Thursday.
