Daly got loose off Turn 4 and hooked right into Newgarden. Newgarden's car turned sideways and went right into the SAFER barrier with his head exposed.

Was he able to get out of the car or does he appear seriously hurt? :nervous: (I'm away from home and can't see what's going on)

He got out, but fell to the ground secs later and had to be carried to the ambulance :nervous:

TV crew said he did climb out on his own. He also waved to the crowed as he was loaded into the ambulance.

He got out, started to walk away then just about collapsed and had to be sat down whilst they took his helmet off (conscious thankfully). He kept pointing to his head and shoulder. Holmatro got him on a stretcher and put him into an ambulance. He should be alright I hope, he did give the crowd a thumbs up as he was lifted in.

Hopefully he's alright, but an injuries would sadly not be surprising after the hits he took there. :nervous:

Judging by how Newgarden was holding his shoulder and head, it looks like a broken collarbone to my eye. It can hurt like a 🤬 too, which could explain why he collapsed after gingerly getting out of the car.

Also, nothing but respect from the safety crew for fixing everything up and getting to Daly & Josef ASAP.

Yes another amazingly quick reaction by Holmatro, they hauled 🤬 out of the infield and got there in no time at all. ._.7

Edit: Newgarden is being taken to a local hospital to get his shoulder and wrist checked out, otherwise he is okay. Main reason he is heading to the hospital is because that the hospital belongs to the speedway's medical director (or something like that). Amazing news after that accident.

Holmatro being on top of everything was something I noticed last night. They were all over the track, it looked like they were evaluating the entire circuit at all times.

RADAR EDIT: First, I live in the lower left quarter of that radar picture... Hi... Second, the cells out our way are a small concern, the cell building to the south is the immediate "**** you nature" ordeal.

That's what you have to do when it comes to "Weepers" on an oval.

EDIT: And now it's raining. Great.

Cant race and cant leave the track.

How does this affect Dixon and Bourdais? I thought both were suppose to leave for LeMans right after the race.

Them, Aleshin and Townsend Bell all missed scrutineering that they were suppose to be there for earlier today. No idea what implications there are going to be for that.

The Ford guys have been OK'd to miss it and Aleshin and Bell's cars arent scheduled to go thru until Monday. Bell already left so the only the only guy that could have a issue is Aleshin.

Ok, an odd question, will Newgarden be able to participate in the restart?

And what did Graham Rahal say?
