Will someone explain to me how Indycar rain rules work? I know Nascar will end a race if it rains out past the halfway mark, does Indycar do the same?

7.2.10. Red – Signifies a Red Condition.

7.2.10.1. Unless otherwise declared by INDYCAR, a Race stopped by the declaration of a Red Condition will be considered incomplete unless more than 50% of the scheduled number of laps or declared time limit has been completed by the Race leader. If INDYCAR schedules the continuation of the Race on a subsequent date or a later time, the Race will be restarted beginning with the unfinished portion of the Race.

7.2.10.2. If a Race is stopped by the declaration of a Red Condition and more than 50% of the scheduled number of laps or declared time limit have been completed by the Race leader, INDYCAR may declare the Race complete and final standings will be determined by ranking all Cars in order by total laps completed and sequence of completion through the last official Race lap.

7.2.10.3. Officials will make reasonable efforts to restart a Race stopped by the declaration of a Red Condition if the conditions warrant.

7.2.10.4. INDYCAR’s decision to restart or not to restart a Race stopped by the declaration of a Red Condition may not be reviewed and/or appealed

Thanks for the aeroscreen update IforceV8. I've also updated the schedule on the first post of the thread with the makeup race at Texas Motor Speedway.

Brad Keselowski is going to have a crack at driving Pagenaud's car at the Road America test.

A little old but the mouse network yielded good ratings for the Detroit doubleheader:

"The second race of IndyCar’s annual Detroit doubleheader had a 0.9 final rating and 1.4 million viewers on ABC last Sunday afternoon, up a tick in ratings and 20% in viewership from last year (0.8, 1.2M) and up 50% and 57%, respectively, from 2014 (0.6, 891K). The previous day’s race had a 0.7 and 1.0 million — up a tick in ratings and 20% in viewership from last year (0.6, 845K) and down a tick and 17%, respectively, from 2014 (0.8, 1.2M)."

I can't wait for this race! Lot's of long flat out sections to showcase these car's speed! :D

And that's just an out-lap to get the tires warmed up.

Judging by video length and that he started from the pits, it looks like that out-lap could match what NASCAR was doing on the short course.

Umm yeah. :odd:

I was thinking the next round of the championship was this past weekend, but it is this weekend. So are you ready for high-quality racing action on a 4+ mile road course [that I still think is an F1-quality course (at least by layout)]? I'll be looking forward to seeing how this race plays out.

Good luck to all IndyCar drivers and teams this weekend at Road America.

There's exactly 11 cars from each manufacturer (at least for this race), though, so there's not really THAT many Chevy's around...
