One of the times where being stubborn is quite beneficial.

Awesome run by Josef Newgarden, best performance I've seen by him 👍

Leading 282 of 300 is impressive, especially given the injuries that certainly aren't healed yet.

Man possessed. Josef Newgarden, ladies and gentlemen! Was this guy bonkers or what today? Once again, I was bummed for Juan Pablo Montoya going out in this race.

No rest for the weary- next round is in Toronto next weekend. Beautiful Toronto with some not-so-beautiful Indy cars ready to rock the streets of Toronto yet again.

This Thursday will be the 20th anniversary of the death of Jeff Krosnoff and course worked Gary Arvin in the Molson Indy Toronto race. Marshall Pruett is running a look back at Jeff's career and it is worth reading. http://marshallpruett.com/jeff-krosnoff-stay-hungry-part-1/

Watching the rerun now and Newgarden took a hard hit today. :scared: Look on his face showed it. :ill: His wrist was shot by the time he wrecked, couldn't hold the wheel right at that turn. Deserves credit for driving with those injuries though.

With 3 and a half races still to play out, I guess now is the appropriate time to start talking silly season and where to expect to see drivers in 2017, here's what I expect,

Team Penske, will most likely remain Pagenaud, Power, Castroneves and Montoya,
Pagenaud has been dynamite this season, Casteoneves has been very good in qualifying but hasn't quite had the car underneath him to a win this year, Power is doing another late season charge, and Montoya is still hungry as ever to perform,

Ganassi Racing,
Scott Dixon will stay for sure, the other 3 drivers are a bit 'iffy'
Tony Kanaan is having a solid season, consistently finishing in the top 10, but either doesn't seem to have the complete package to win races, I think he might get one more season,
Max Chilton has had a "meh" rookie season, though I think he just might get one more season to prove his worth,
Then Charlie Kimball, I dont think we will see him at Ganassi next season, he's not really made any headlines, I think we will most likely see Josef Newgarden in this car,

Andretti Autosport, Ryan Hunter Reay will be retained, I know Marco Andretti will also be retained but only because of his name (haters gonna hate) I also expect Carlos Munoz to stay and see Alexander Rossi remain in the Andretti/ Herta car, both drivers have had a solid 2016,

Rahal, Letterman, Lanigan,
Graham Rahal will keep his seat, they had a solid start to the season,

Ed Carpenter Racing, I would expect Newgarden to stay at ECR if he isn't picked up by Ganassi, I would expect to see Kimball in the seat if he is dropped by Ganassi for Newgarden,
I also expect to see Ed Carpenter do the ovals again, Id like to see ECR pick up Connor Daly for the road courses and get some oval tuition from Ed himself, I dont believe we will see Spencer Pigot back here,

Dale Coyne Racing,
I dont think we will see Connor Daly here next year, he really has had a great season on road courses carrying this car, though his lack of experience on ovals is showing majorly, I dont know who we will see in these cars next year, maybe Spencer Pigot and Jack Hawksworth?

Aj Foyt Racing,
Tacuma Sato will stay, I doubt we will see Jack Hawksworth in this seat next year, again maybe Connor Daly might replace him,

Schmidt Peterson,
James Hinttchcliffe will stay, unsure about Mikail Aleshin, that would totally depend on SMP money I guess, if they choose not to do it again this leaves a good seat vacant,

And Sebastian Bourdais will remain with KVSH,

Have I missed anyone?

With 3 and a half races still to play out
4 1/2 actually, Mid-Ohio, Pocono, 1/2 Texas, Glen, and Sonoma.

I think JPM will be out and go play with his remote control airplanes if he can not hitch a ride with Porsche in the WEC. Helio could be done too with only 2 wins in 3 1/2 yrs in the best team, not good enough.

TK is another guy who is Kimi like and playing the role of #2 driver in a series that has no #2 drivers. 4 wins since 2008 vs and only 1 with TGR when his teammate has 6 wins and a championship. Chilton and Kimball are both bringing sponsors to those cars so they will have a seat until the checks stop clearing.

Guys at Andretti are probably looking for a way out rather than worrying about keeping their seat right now. RHR looks good in yellow and could come to love Penzoil. Marco has no better place to go and will have a seat as long as the car has a sponsor. Munoz needs more backing to keep that seat and Rossi is at the crossroads between being a out of work F1 driver and becoming a new career as a Indycar driver. His only F1 option is likely a move to Haas and that is probably a stretch.

Reportedly Tim Cindric hates Graham Rahal and he already raced for Chip so there is no better place for him to be at the moment. He does need a full time teammate though.

Josef staying at ECR would be good for the series but it will be tough for him to ignore a call from The Capt. or Chip.

Foyt needs to clean house, my crystal ball has a LMP2 seat in the future for Hawksworth and Sato can go back to Japan. Daly can go there but that is nothing more than a lateral move at best.

Coyne TBD and TBD are the favorites for those seats.

SPM seems locked in but either one of those guys could take TK's seat in a heartbeat.

Seb has been described as the worst teammate ever by Katherine Legge and that lone wolf mentality might play at Penske it would not at TGR or Andretti so I doubt he is going anywhere.
