Once it's been seen, it cannot be unseen...

Peugeot 908 HDI (I forget which year this is)

2016 Michael Shank Racing Ligier/Honda

Between COTA and this week, I thought I was having flashbacks.

I hate the front nose section these days. It's like they don't know how to make it look stylish AND aerodynamic so **** it just leave giant openings that look awful as long as it works. Ugh

Eh, not really seeing the similarities. Yes they're both blue, but they're not the same shade of blue. Moreover there isn't any orange coloration on the Peugeot. Plus, the Ligier appears to be shorter, and has a completely different looking front end.

EDIT: Of course the fact that I noticed all of these differences probably implies that I desperately need to get a life.

I know they're very different, but the livery is playing with my brain a little bit. From watching the broadcasts, when the Shank car enters or exits the shot very quickly, there's a split second where my brain goes "That's a Peugeot 9...oh, wait a minute. That was 5 years ago..." :dopey:

Fair enough.

Friendly reminder: The race starts today at 11:10 A.M. Eastern with coverage on Fox Sports 1 starting at 11:00 A.M. Eastern. You can also get flag to flag coverage on the Fox Sports App.

So it looks like the race will also be available on IMSA's website with IMSA TV and IMSA Radio. If I remember correctly, some people complained a while back that it's region blocked, so those in the USA couldn't watch it.
If that's the case again, try this free Chrome extension: Browsec VPN
It encrypts your traffic and fools website into thinking your connecting from somewhere else. It has a feature that will let you choose other countries.
Last time I used it was I think Daytona and it worked then, so it should work now. After the race you can simply uninstall it from Chrome.

Woah check out those speeds.

Obviously an error, but still.

Fox Sports Go is helping me a ton with watching this. I do have to admit that it feels weird listening to the normal Fox crew since I've gotten used to listening to RLM with their radio streams.

I'm using my phone to chromecast to the TV from the Fox Sports Go app. I don't know how to use Chrome extensions on my phone. This stream is mostly low quality though, it's constantly loading and chugs here and there.

Any better way to watch?

I prefer my racing cars to err... "resemble cars"..., cars that I could drive or have fantasized about owning. If everything started to look like a DeltaWing it would ruin racing as a spectator sport "for me". Maybe if I was a bike guy, it would have had more appeal. This is most likely why I liked the Corvette DP's so much, with GTLM being my favorite class.

Then why watch any prototype, formula series? I mean at least the Corvette DPs look closer to a corvette than a Mercedes F1 car to any Mercedes. And at least the deltawing had a road going concept... So I'm confused how these don't resemble cars? In that same idea, F1 and P2/P1, Super formula, Dakar even...

So for the unknown time. imsa.com says FS2 should carry the racing, but its soccer. I really guess they don't care.

I had to switch the FS Go app off of a college football game earlier to get back on the race. Not that big of a deal since I know that college football rules the fall (apart from the NFL). Streaming from a laptop and it's running smoothly.

It sounds like a ton of teams are facing electrical issues right now.

This would make sense if the car operated that way, but in fact never did nor has, so your lack of understanding the engineering behind the car is the issue. Not the car. I don't like it, cause I think it's dorky but that doesn't make it any less of a car.

So you were one of those people.

NEEEERRRDDDD!!!

:P

Hey, it's just an opinion on the aesthetics, that isn't a knock on the engineering. If my favorite color is red and yours is blue, who's right?

First the first time a women Christina Nielsen has won her category for the title. Way to go!!!! Taken too long, but nice to see this happening.

Asked how she feels. I feel like s**t. LOL

LMAO

Matt Yocum: "Has it sunk in for you yet?"

Christina Nielsen: "I feel like 🤬"

I think we just found the female Mika Hakkinen
