Neymar had a training ground bust-up with Nelson Semedo earlier, was caught on camera, been on the news everywhere...

Been reading on Twitter that apparently Liverpool have ended their interest in Naby Keita.

New EFL season starts next week, two weeks for the Premier League season!

Poor Sunderland are getting absolutely rocked in their home ground by Celtic right now. 4-0 55 mins in.

5-0.

They got humped 3-0 by Livingston earlier in the month, so it's not a shock.

What's this I hear about a potential Fellaini sale? :dunce:

In my opinion, if United can sell him now for a decent price with only 1 year left of his contract and being 29 years old, they should go for it.

Oh yeah, Galatasaray is the club.

Matic coming in as Fellaini replacement, £45-£50 million move.

I welcome both the Fellaini sale and Matic coming in...

Fellaini is a bit unfortuante because not only was involved an a drawn out transfer saga, which a player of his "talent" shouldn't, but he's also found most of his game time being restricted to playing in a deep lying role. Fellaini up front in an attacking position can give you another option, he can score goals, but he gives away loads of fouls. I always wince when I see him brought on to see a 1-0 lead out, but when he's brought on to help get a late goal he can make a difference.

He's in no way a United standard player, but he hasn't been played right IMO by Moyes, Van Gaal or Mourinho. I won't miss him at all, but he could have been considered less of a flop had he not given away so many penalties and dangerous free kicks thanks to being played defensively. Matic I hope will allow Pogba to get forward and move around the pitch freeley, I think we'll see a better Pogba and a better Mhikitaryan this sesason.

On another note, we just beat Valerenga 3-0, Fellaini, Lukaku and McTomminen the scorers. Valerenga didn't get much of a chance, based on the way we played we'll win the leage by a gazillion points (assuming the rest of the leage play like Valerenga), just give us the title now lads ;).

That match was nothing more than a run out for fitness, but that McTomminen looks half decent, maybe he can step into the first team a bit this year.

Its Scott McTominay, not McTomminen...

Mourinho effectively ruled out the Fellaini sale afterwards.

Moneymar still not gone?

How true is that given that it's an unsubstantiated Twitter account and not the club themselves?

---

A video I've watched recently has really tickled me; it's from 2007/08 when the Ireland job was vacant and Terry Venables was rumoured for the job.

Eamon Dunphy doesn't hold back with his thoughts on Terry Venables.

Supposedly...We'lll see how it unfolds.

If you are not only a starter but an absolute superstar at Barça and you opt to go to PSG, that's on him. He should go on and live with his mistake.

Man United have announced the signing of Nemanja Matic from Chelsea for £40 million, three year deal, will wear number 31, Its a lot of money for someone who is approaching 29 years of age but he is the sort of player we need now, not two or three years in the future, and having him bossing the midfield will hopefully free up Pogba and/or Herrera to cause havoc, I really think this is a good move. 👍:)

The bad news from United today is that Phil Jones and Daley Blind are complete pillocks!. ...

Pleased that United signed Matic.

He should be a good player to have to balance and clean up the midfield and give the others more room to operate.

I've stuck a language warning in there. i think there were a few F-bombs, but I'm not entirely sure as I could only understand every other word.

Apologies. It slipped my mind. 👍

Anyone thinking about their predictions for the coming season?

I've been thinking about mine for a while, finding the top six difficult....

Further to the difficult to believe ridiculousness...

Meanwhile Fifa Street sensation is on the move again. There's an awful lot going on in this sentence

Freddy Adu, that name brings back some late night football manager memories.

I find it funny that Javier Hernandez said when leaving Manchester United that he is leaving the league because he doesn't want to play against them. Yet here we nearly are at game 1 of the season and his first game for West Ham is away at Old Trafford vs Manchester United.

I honestly wouldn't have minded seeing him back, but I doubt he'd wanna go back to the bench/late sub role again.

Barcelona has confirmed that Neymar wants to go.

To pay his 222 million buy-out clause, Qatar 2022 hires Neymar for 300 million, so that Neymar can pay for his release himself.

....

Yes, because the whole thing was not corrupt enough already...

Much as I love football, I would quite like to see what happens when all this spending comes crashing down on the game. If it even does...

The Leagues that seem to be doing better then England already with much lower budgets will just take off even more.

But most teams are significantly more Conservative then they have been in the past, sure the transfers are high but they are nothing compared to the percentages that where being pulled 10-20 years ago, if there is any collapse it will come from the lower end of the premiership and higher championship teams fighting for the EPL TV Pie, I do think though that long term it will start to shrink the differences of teams that will get promoted and relegated till the championship is just filled with rich clubs going vegas mode to get into the top flight.

Either way the money in England atleast will keep increasing, England has the advantage of the being the only top English speaking League in europe, so all of the Asian and North american growth will feed into the country they are more likely to know the language of already, it's the main reason it's the biggest now.

Outside of Europe and South America if your talking soccer/football your talking about the English Premier league, the end.

To replace Neymar, Barcelona is looking at Griezmann, and Atletico wants 190 million.

Incredible that in a country with an unemployment rate of 18%, money can be thrown around like that.

Should buy Espanyol with the money they get for Neymar and turn them into a local Catalan restaurant.

Dybala

Not a single player in history is worth these amounts of money. Not even close either. :irked:
