Bloody annoying... Just missed out on £500 because of that equaliser.... :grumpy:
When you bet on Spurs at Wembley:

Bump: The Ox is headed for Chelsea for about 35 million. Good riddance I say. Baffling that he played yesterday though.

Seems like Liverpool are going in for Lemar as well, proving that apes are running and managing Arsenal football club at the moment.

Liverpool agree deal with Leipzig for Naby Keita, but there's a catch....in Keita's current contract there will be a £48 million release clause active from next Summer, so that's when Liverpool are getting him, for the 48 rather than the up to £70 mill they have been bidding for him this Summer, he is expected to join on July 1st 2018.

Quite an interesting deal that is.

Inter Milan are close to signing Mustafi from Arsenal where Wenger wants at least the £35 million he paid last summer in order to sell the player. Juventus has jumped in at the last minute, however, so they will likely overpay for him to out-muscle Inter.

Sanchez to Man City looks to be closer, could be money plus Raheem Sterling but negotiations are ongoing.

Kevin Wimmer has joined Stoke from Spurs and Kieran Gibbs has had a medical at West Brom.

Going to be a busy 48 hours or so.

Seems Oxlade Chamberlin to Liverpool is getting closer.

I really don't understand this move at all. He's average at best, has lost nearly 80 games to injury over the last 4 seasons, only has 1 year left on his contract, is unlikely to be a starter in the big games, and looks like costing the best part of £40M.

Madness.

With Coutinho wanting to leave and with Lallana injured it does make sense to bring in cover for Mane and Salah.
I'm surprised that Klopp haven't strengthened the defence though.

Swansea closing in on a loan deal for Bayern's Renato Sanches, not making that up!

That'll all be down to Paul Clement links to the club and Ancelotti.

He wants to play in CMF... that's the reason he turned Chelsea down by all accounts.

Not signing a center back is ridiculous.

Liverpool agree deal with Arsenal for Oxlade-Chamberlain, thought to be around £35 million on a six-year deal.

Player still needs a medical and agree terms.

Spurs also sign Serge Aurier from PSG.

Man City have agreed to sell Bony (£12m) and Mangala (£23m) to Crystal Palace. Looks like the players just need to agree to personal terms with the new team.

Barcelona improve their Dybala bid up to €160m but Juventus says no.

I can imagine Aurier being Sissoko mk2, only with a bit more whinging... and considering the crazy price tags being bandied around, not as much of a waste. Having said that it'll be interesting to see if he does secure a starting berth over Trippier.

Sanches to Swansea though... that's something I wasn't expecting to see a day or two ago, never mind the start of the window. Right out of left field, he's got some rather big boots to fill!

First managerial casualty of 2017-18?

Cobblers (etc).

Chelsea agree deal with Torino for Zappacosta for £23 million.

Arsenal make £92 million bid for Thomas Lemar but say deal is unlikely.

City make £60 million bid for Alexis Sanchez, £55 mil up front with £5 mill add-ons.

Plenty going on!

Arsenal failed to sign Lemar because he was playing for France and couldn't complete a medical which means Alexis stays until January at least. Either Wenger will cash in on him or it will be a free for all next year.
Whatever happens this has been pathetic from Arsenal over the past few days/weeks/months.

Chelsea agreed a deal with Everton for Ross Barkley for £30 million, Ross travels down to Cobham to discuss terms and his medical, terms were agreed and he was halfway through his medical when he suddenly changed his mind and went back to Everton!

If Arsenal had a crap window then so did Chelsea, got turned down by Lukaku, Ox-Chamberlain and now Barkley, its worth remembering that they are the champions of England....but then again its not all bad, Zappacosta is a done deal for them and still waiting on the Drinkwater news.

Wilfried Bony re-joins Swansea from Man City for £12 million, happy with that ad the Sanches loan was confirmed earlier. 👍👍

Wednesday had been having a decent transfer window. No-one major gone (I bite my nails for George Hirst every window), two central defenders in (Frederico Venancio on loan, Joost van Aken for ~£4m) to give us that four-man cover...

Then they cocked it all up at the last minute.

We have six proper strikers - Steven Fletcher, Gary Hooper, Lucas Joao, Atdhe Nuhiu, Jordan Rhodes, and Sam Winnall. Nobody needs six strikers.

We've had 95 shots on goal this season in seven games, and scored 10 of them. That's about a 10% conversion rate. Three were not scored by those six players, so realistically they're worse than 10%. Lucas Joao spent last season away on loan at Blackburn, where he did okay considering, so let's forget him. We currently have the joint 6th best defence and the joint 18th best attack.

Fletcher has scored 2 (4 games). Hooper has scored 2 (6 games). Rhodes has scored 2 (4 games). Winnall has scored 1 (3 games). Nuhiu has scored 0 (3 games).

We bought Rhodes and Winnall in January's transfer window. Nevertheless, both scored. We had the 3rd best defence and the joint 10th best attack. In 2016-17 it looked as follows:

Fletcher scored 10 (36 games). Hooper scored 6 (24 games). Rhodes scored 3 (17 games). Winnall scored 3 (15 games). Nuhiu scored 0 (21 games).

Our strike force over last season and this season so far have the following goal ratios:
Fletcher - 30% (12 goals)
Hooper - 27% (8 goals)
Rhodes - 24% (5 goals)
Winnall - 22% (4 goals)
Nuhiu - 0% (0 goals)

So, our defence is okay, but we buy two defenders. Fine, it needs shoring up. Our strikers aren't really doing it - loads of wasted shots, not many goals, but we've got two proper Championship strikers and two guys who are doing it about once every three games. We've got too many strikers though, and we need to cut wages.

Which striker do we offload? Is it the expensive international we bought from overseas who couldn't hit a fat man with a wet haddock, or is it someone who's actually scoring goals at a reasonable, for Wednesday, rate?

Correct! Winnall loaned out to Derby.

What the actual what?

Chelsea's biggest mistake in my opinion was getting rid of Matic, to a direct rival no less, with no adequate replacement. I know nothing about this Zappacosta other than it sounds like what their fans want to do with a laser gun and Diego.
What the actual what?
If you think that's confusing try explaining Monaco letting their best player go to their only competitors while also agreeing to a loan deal so PSG avoid any financial fair play infringement. Well, try and explain it without using the word corruption.

while also agreeing to a loan deal so PSG avoid any financial fair play infringement.
The best part of that deal is PSG don't have the obligation to buy if they get relegated.

Good link for all transfers fans out there, See how your club or others did from gross expenditure to net expenditure.
Who had the most ins and out, Who were biggest spenders, who were the biggest releases of players?
Only five clubs registered a net profit from transfer dealings, led by Swansea with +£19.5m in the black.

It really is amazing how a very popular sports journalist can miss out on 3 players that Spurs have sold.
