It really is amazing how a very popular sports journalist can miss out on 3 players that Spurs have sold.

Which is an updated link to my original post/time of "Link was by Adam Smith Last Updated: 01/09/17 8:14am" about the link?
So maybe it might get a final update when all little snippets come in/or put together?

EDIT: Plus lets not forget some clubs could possibly improve there figures since some European markets are still open for buying from British clubs?

I just entered a competition where you type in a code and get a football score prediction for the weekend - if the actual result of the game matches your prediction, you can win Premier League tickets. Unfortunately my prediction is Manchester City 3-6 Liverpool

How much did/or you betting on it, If its not too much I,ll give you the money the myself. (As long has its not Silly amount of hundreds of pounds?)

And to be quite honest since you came up with the idea might just have a trip to bookies and stick a fiver on that. :D

UEFA have opened investigations into PSG transfers regarding FFP. Not really surprising news is it?!

Wayne Rooney has been charged with drink-driving after being stopped by Police in the early hours of this morning.

No wonder Rooney turned down an England call up. Imagine the negative publicity with that on top of it.

I am delighted to announce that the top 92 in England did not dispense with the services of any manager in the month of August! Conference and Scotland, not so much but they're not part of my reporting scope.

Spanish transfer window shut tonight, not a lot happened really, quite a few PL players went out on loan to La Liga teams including Remy to Las Palmas, Costa to Atletico never got going and there was some news about Di Maria to Barca for 40 mil euros but it went quiet after that.

A few things

Wayne Rooney is a stupid ****ing idiot, lots of speculation in the Sunday press today about the drink driving thing and the Woman that was in the car with him, which has apparently now led to his marriage being in trouble yet again, his wife Coleen is currently pregnant with their fourth child, Everton have also spoken to him about this and told him if he does something like that again then he will be transfer listed, he only joined in the Summer.

Ross Barkley has taken to Twitter to deny the rumours that he didn't pull out of the Chelsea move on deadline day during the medical there, he said there was a deal on the cards but he turned it down due to his injury and will look again at a move in January. there was no medical, he is currently out for a few months with a groin injury.

Frank De Boer reportedly must win the next game v Burnley otherwise he'll get the sack as Palace boss, if they do lose it then it will be four defeats from four opening games, I personally think he should be given more time as he is trying to implement a more passing game there, which isn't what they have been used to in the past.

De Boer had the same struggles in his Inter Milan Job. We know he's a good manager, and Palace are not used to his change in system yet. They must be patient with him otherwise what's the use of hiring a new manager who obviously has a different approach from all who have come before. For once, an English team must be patient.

Palace have also failed to score a goal yet this season in games against Huddersfield, Liverpool and Swansea. That has to be taken into account too.

Let's be fair, they were very unlucky not to score against Huddersfield and Liverpool (didn't watch a whole lot of the Swansea game). But in the end goals are goals and the table doesn't show any near their name.

However, their attacking players are getting in the right places and creating many dangerous chances. The problem is that the personnel at hand ATM doesn't suit De Boer's style of play. They need time and he may not get it unfortunately.

Former Sutton United goalkeeper Wayne Sutton has been fined £375 and suspended for two months for breaching betting rules after eating a pie pitch-side during the Sutton-Arsenal FA Cup tie last season. The fine doesn't sound like much but he is a former non-league player so he wont be made of money.

Its now been 10,000 days since Liverpool last won the League.

Normal PL and Championship stuff resumes this weekend, some big PL matches...

In the meantime, FIFA rejected Leicester's application to register Adrien Silva because they missed the transfer period's deadline by 14 seconds. :irked:

We know [de Boer] is a good manager

Do we? I think it reflects more that he has been found out at Crystal Palace and Inter Milan. Outside the comfort zone of managing Ajax, which can be on par with managing Celtic these days, he has had very little success. To go from managing Inter Milan, one of the most prestigious clubs in Italy and Europe, to managing Crystal Palace, a lower half top flight English club with not quite as much past success, is telling.

There are other factors at play of course, like the recent takeover of Inter Milan and the fact that they are on their 9th manager in 8 years, but I wouldn't even be sold on de Boer being a good manager just yet. Proving yourself outside of the Netherlands is like proving yourself outside of Ukraine these days. Sadly.

You make valid and fair points. However, don't forget that his stint with Inter Milan was a failure mostly because of factors that were out of his hand to say the least.

He was appointed on the 9th of August, that's 11 days before the Serie A season started. Mancini was surprisingly sacked after the PSG friendly game. De Boer was given a team where it was hard for him to implement his system, but he adapted after his first loss where he switched from his favorable 3412 to a 4231 which suited Inter's personnel at the time. This shows his eagerness to adapt. After a miserable Europa League campaign and 14 matches in total, which is never enough time given the circumstances, he was sacked. There was only one transfer that was done while he was in charge and he didn't have a say in it (Joao Mario)

It's not like Inter Milan has gone out of their slump the last 6 years. Prestigious yes, but not successful at the moment. The media plays a big part in this. They see a manager who was sacked, whatever the circumstances were, and they play him down. Crystal Palace and the Premier League as a whole is 2 steps ahead of the Serie A in terms of money and ambition and those are some of the factors for managers when choosing a club.

Palace wants to be the new Southampton. They don't want to bring managers who could save them from relegation every season. They want an identity and stick with it. Maybe they saw their new identity with De Boer, and if that's the case they should stick with him.

I'm not saying he unequivocally is a bad manager but I am saying that we haven't seen him prove himself elsewhere yet. There's still time to turn Palace's season around but it's got to be quick; it would be highly ignominious to leave Palace so early into the season and into his new job.

Edit: The English transfer window will close before the first game of the season starting in 2018/19.

What is going to stop clubs from other leagues, whose windows are still open, from bidding for English league players? They will be unable to replace them.

Without other leagues doing the same it leaves clubs in the English league in a very vulnerable position. What a stupid ruling to do.

Does not matter, the clubs just won't sell the player/s unless they want rid and the players and more importantly the agents will know this, so either they move early, when they can still be replaced, or not at all.

There also has to be a good chance that the other nations will also now close their window before their season starts as there isn't much point to it being opened much longer when they can't fleece the average premier league teams for big money late in the window for their average players.

So John Terry (or Chelsea) gets no investigation never mind action, for actions which were basically a deliberate "spot fix" of a supposedly competitive match, where he even coerced the opposite team to go along with it, which in my view is not that far from a match fix, especially when this action could have left Chelsea a man light had they needed to make other subs due to injuries. Yet a non-league staff member/emergency player gets sacked, banned and fined for eating a pasty to teach a betting company a lesson after they basically took the 🤬 out of him, on the grounds that he intentionally affected a betting market, when to me scoring and many other things can also be classified this way if you feel like it or go intentionally looking for proof that this was the case.

Just another complete farce from the FA.:irked:

Maybe if you couldn't bet on such nonsense in the first place though these kind of things wouldn't happen. 💡

As you guys have been touched on, the vote for the early closing of the transfer window was not unanimous, 14 clubs voted in favour and 5 against with one abstaining, next years Summer transfer window will now close on August 9th, two days before next season starts, EFL window remains unaffected as does the January window.

I wonder who abstained and why would you abstain, ridiculous, you either agree with the proposal or don't and therefor are against it by default, there is no middle ground here. To me the club abstaining should also lose their right to vote in the future if they don't care enough to vote.

Well I don't know about the club that abstained but I think I can narrow it down as Sky Sports News are reporting that the five clubs that voted against are: Man United, Man City, Swansea, Palace and Watford.

I'm not surprised we voted for it. The VVD saga was cringeworthy.
