Firstly 1-0 vs Brighton, at home, by a hugely deflected lucky shot is dreadful to put it politely. No offence to Brighton or their fans but they're the sort of teams a title contender should be putting 3/4 goals past.

Secondly, I had no idea there were even games on this weekend so thank you @MUSC4EVER for letting me know.

Tricky game away to Watford tomorrow, they are doing well in Silva.

I'm not sure anything happened that was interesting, unusual or out of the ordinary.

Except Sunderland won. So there's that.

Also, Allardyce is reportedly back in the Everton picture. For some reason.

There wasn't anything unusual no...

Messi signed a new deal at Barca to take him to 2021, buyout clause is 700m Euros!

Do they do these mid week games occasionally to try and make up for the international breaks so the schedule finishes on time in May?

I think so yeah, I also think that's the reason why there's so many games over Christmas and new year.

Good thing I bought the NBC Sports Premier League Pass so I can go back and watch a game or two after I get home from work because they air live over here in the US during the middle of the day.

A few sources on Twitter saying Sam Allardyce as new Everton boss is a done deal, heard they talked to Shakthar boss Paolo Fonseca today as well.

United are winning games off absolute crackers from Ashley Young and Jesse Lingard. This club is so weird sometimes.

Quite a bit happened tonight.

Brighton 0-0 Palace
West Brom 2-2 Newcastle
Leicester 2-1 Tottenham
Watford 2-4 Man United

Tight game between Brighton and Palace, Newcastle came from 2-0 to draw.

Tottenham's title hopes are surely dead and buried now. Vardy and Mahrez for Leicester with Kane getting what turned out to be the consolation, no wins in three in the League for them.

And on to Vicarage Road! Young with two, one a great free kick, Martial with the third to make it 0-3 at HT, we let them in with a Deeney pen and a Doucoure strike, but an amazing solo goal from Lingard from inside his own half taking on the Watford defence before a neat finish beyond Gomes to seal the win, great game, great goals, feeling very relieved!

And Allardyce to Everton should be done by either tonight or tomorrow, Unsworth to take charge again tonight but will then move back to his old role with the U23's.

Police are investigating incidents at the AMEX Stadium last night that occurred before the Brighton-Palace game, people without tickets tried to get in to the ground and there were confrontations between supporters and police, masked 'fans' also tried to get in with knives, pyrotechnics and knuckledusters. The man in charge of the investigation have said that its the worst Football related incident he has dealt with and that it sends Football back to the dark ages, six people arrested with three charged so far. Three Policeman were injured. 👎

Full times from tonight.

Arsenal 5-0 Huddersfield
Bournemouth 1-2 Burnley
Chelsea 1-0 Swansea
Everton 4-0 West Ham
Man City 2-1 Southampton
Stoke 0-3 Liverpool

Some big wins there, big question is though......Where did that come from at Everton?!?!

They were playing against West Ham, managed by David Moyes...

What a whacking by Arsenal against Huddersfield. That's a big victory for them, damn. Also, Manchester United just getting up against Southampton. I thought they would get clobbered by a decent margin.

Sam Allardyce signs 18 month deal to become new Everton boss.

How does he keep getting jobs? He's been implicated in bribery and corruption for over a decade, and literally had to quit as England manager after one game after being exposed in a corruption sting.

Everton fans must be so bummed out right now. They started the season with more than £100m spent on the squad and Ronald Koeman as manager, and now they've got one of the dodgiest managers alive...

Mind you, Crystal Palace have Hodgson, West Brom have Pardew, West Ham have Moyes... They must all feel like they're going down this year (if there's space alongside Swansea).

Its gets worse, he's on 6.5 million a year, making him one of the highest paid managers in the World.

By comparison, Zinedine Zidane -who won the Champions League twice in a row with Real Madrid- is on 4.5 million.

Once his first wage comes in. :)

That's actually mental to comprehend.

Brighton 1-5 Liverpool
Watford 1-1 Tottenham
Everton 2-0 Huddersfield
Leicester 1-0 Burnley

Swansea were 0-1 up! :banghead:

Arsenal v Man United to come.

Interesting start to the match...

Arsenal 0 - 2 United.

11 minutes in. :P

****

Edit:

Far from a pretty victory, but an important one nonetheless.

Pogba's stupid ankle breaker tackle on Bellerin just made things alot harder, in an already very hard match...

Definitely some unfortunate luck for Arsenal, but also some slack in the final third when it comes to the killer finishes. So many shots, so many misses and saves.

But an extremely entertaining match! :D:cheers:

Arsenal 1-3 United, some brilliant counter-attacking and 14 De Gea saves gives us the win, some great defending too. 👍

Shame about Pogba tough, will miss the derby next Sunday. :indiff:

I was at the Emirates and can confirm that game really was as good as it looked. And that, as they say, is why we watch.

De Gea put in the finest performance I've ever seen from him. Lingard was magnificent. Defence was by and large impeccable. Matic superb. Pogba great too, but that red is the only sour note. We'll have to come up with something to beat City... Even without Pogba, I'm sure there's a way in there somewhere.

Man U vs. Arsenal was a very entertaining game to watch. David De Gea made some incredible saves. Just goes to show you that sometimes in sports, dominating the stat sheet doesn't mean you win the game.
