Arsenal players pay the ultimate tribute to Wenger by scoring four goals in a match, they just beat West Ham 4-1, all goals came in the second half.

Stoke and Burnley drew 1-1.

Chance of Manchester City having a championship hangover? A let down? Taking the day off? Nope, Man City 5 Swansea 0.

City break the record for most possession in a PL game with 83% and the most passes attempted was over 1,000 which has never been done since they started recording it back in the 03/04 season.

As a Swans fan I fully expected a hammering but it was still bewildering to watch!

McDons sack manager Dan Micciche after a run that's seen them lose five in a row, conceding 15 (scoring four) and drop to second bottom, six points from safety with only nine left to play for.

Enough said.

I'd also like to congratulate Sunderland on getting out of the Championship at the first attempt.

Salah has won the PFA Player of the Year award, hate to admit but he deserves it. It looked like it would be De Bruyne up to the mid way point, but although he's played well all season, the 2nd half of the season hasn't been nearly as good as the 1st. Salah has really impressed this season... Except against United :).

Anyone else rather pleased at Wimbledon finishing above MK Dons? They're currently three points above the drop zone with 9 points left. I really hope they can get the results they need to stay up.

22nd April - Dan Micciche (Milton Keynes Dons, sacked) League One

Sacked: 38
Resigned: 2
Demoted: 2
Approaches: 4

Total: 46

Yeah that combined with De Brunye's laser strike it was something to see.

If Lionel Messi did this, there wouldn't be a commentator in the world who could get rid of the taste of his marble pouch for a fortnight. But it was Fernando Forestieri, so aside from winning EFL goal of the week, it'll go unnoticed...

He's scored four since he came back, which makes him our fifth highest scorer this year...

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to miss the rest of the season and the World Cup because of a knee ligament injury he picked up last night for playing for Liverpool v Roma.

Damn, he was one of the few English midfielders who was actually getting in form that might actually play well in an England team.

Not like Sterling or Alli for example.

Sterling is annoying really. He's had a fantastic season, totally deserves to be in the starting line up, but he really doesn't suit the England team and is usually a waste of a player on the pitch. Yes used to class like De Bruyne or Sane giving him the ball on the plate, but the team plays better trying to get the ball to Kane or Vardy. Sterling doesn't fit in a team he should be in.

Toronto lost a great game last night in penalties of the 2nd leg CONCACAF Champion's League final. They would have been the first MLS team to win the tournament.

The following news really has come out of the Blue.

Fulham owner Shahid Khan has submitted a bid to the FA to buy Wembley stadium for a reported £800 million, the FA and Khan are reportedly in talks, Khan also owns NFL Franchise Jacksonville Jaguars and it most likely would mean that they would play their home games there.

If that's the case then England would have to play autumn home games elsewhere, but the NFL season is only 17 weeks long and the Jaguars would only have 8 'home' games at Wembley.

FA would want assurances that they could still host other England games plus the FA Cup final at Wembley.

Very interesting news this.

I can't believe they are even considering selling, especially for such a low amount. To build that stadium now would definitely cost more than that, heck it almost did when it was built.

No doubt some dodgy business will take place and the deal will go ahead anyway, the FA are not fit for purpose and this sale will prove it once and for all.

The Jaguars made it within one game of going to the Super Bowl last year. Before this year they had to put tarps over most of the upper deck at their stadium to make it look better on tv because they couldn't sell enough tickets. Now that they are good again the tarps came off, ticket sales are back up, the city is supporting the team again, and now he's possibly going to move the team?? That would make the Colts escape from Baltimore in 1984 look tame.

I saw the headline over here but didn't click on it to see who it was. I actually thought it said NFL ownerS looking to buy Wembley and I thought it might be used as a central location to host all of the games the NFL plays over there now.

Why would an NFL team want to do all its games in the UK? It's an American sport with an American fanbase. An exhibition match is fine, but really?

I'd be really annoyed if Liverpool started playing home games at the Yankee Stadium. This seems silly.

Apparently the FA was advised to sell Wembley four years ago, and invest the money into grass roots football.

Which it wouldn't even need to do if it instituted my 25% rule - the clubs would do it for them.

Here's the games for this weekend.

Saturday
Burnley v Brighton
Crystal Palace v Leicester
Huddersfield v Everton
Liverpool v Stoke (12.30 Sky)
Newcastle v West Brom
Southampton v Bournemouth
Swansea v Chelsea (5.30 BT)

Sunday
Man United v Arsenal (4.30 Sky)
West Ham v Man City (2.15 Sky)

Monday Night
Tottenham v Watford (8pm Sky)

Amazingly, Sunderland only went and did it again. They took the lead against Fulham, but lost 2-1. That's something near 30 points lost from a winning position this season for them, and guarantees them 24th spot - the first team since Wolves in 1985 to finish bottom in the top two divisions in successive seasons.

Full times

Liverpool 0-0 Stoke
Crystal Palace 5-0 Leicester
Huddersfield 0-2 Everton
Newcastle 0-1 West Brom
Southampton 2-1 Bournemouth
Burnley 0-0 Brighton

Other results have put Swansea under a bit of pressure....and we are 0-1 down to Chelsea. :indiff:

Huddersfield are in as much trouble as Swansea now, maybe more so as their remaining games are much tougher. Still a chance West Ham could go down too and that would be great but I bet they don't.

Liverpool are going to find themselves having to win this season's Champion's League in order to get into next season's Champion's League if they don't get themselves together in the next two games. Giving points away to the bottom teams isn't going to get it done.

Typical Liverpool. Always do it in Europe (and other top 6) and can be inconsistent against the lesser teams.

I will be gobsmacked if West Brom survive this. Crazy how things are falling for them. 4 points from Man Utd and Liverpool. I'm surprised they weren't relegated by either of them two.

I never understood this appointment, but I don't understand the point of this sacking either. I suppose after criticising the club's leadership last week, it was inevitable, but this spell in charge was dumb on all fronts.

Sunderland sack Coleman...

Edit: Okay, this gets more bizarre as the day rolls on...

Sunderland sack Coleman.
Sunderland owner Ellis Short sells club to Eastleigh owner Stewart Donald.
Ellis Short writes off Sunderland's debt.

Why sack a manager like Coleman 10 minutes before selling to a new owner?

Wait so the now old Owner wrote off the debts? Surely he's made a huge loss on all of this then?

Celtic Beat Rangers 5-0, poor finishing and a good goalie display stopped double digits.

Hopefully the rumors are true and Stevie G gets the Rangers job. It would effectively secure next year's title more than normal.

Respect to him, even from a Manchester United supporter, for taking the job if so. Nice to see someone cutting their teeth in a lower league job rather than just expecting a big team on name alone.
