Penalise them both and let Ricciardo and the Williams battle it out!!!!
I'm not convinced it was intentional by Vettel. If you look at the on-board, he doesn't correct the steering and then turn into Hamilton, and his attention is clearly on the Mercedes. I think he's misjudged it, that he's so angry with Hamilton that he hasn't realised the angle he's at.Hamilton's "brake test" was in a dangerous place and Vettel bashing into Hamilton was very dangerous.
This is not the first time Lewis has driven dangerously under safety car though, not to excuse Vettels behaviour but that was arguably worth a punishment. If Hamilton gets a penalty, Vettel should be hit twice as hard. Completely unacceptable reaction from Sebastian.
I dont really think lewis brake checked vettel.
Vettel thought lewis would take off from turn 16 like last time, but lewis changed is strategy on the restart.
I'm completely of the opinion that Vettel should be penalized for such a childish act. That said, I absolutely love this Vettel. He's come undone and is just volatile at every opportunity.
He told Whiting to 🤬 off for cripes sake!
Why couldn't he telegraph the move by slowing down into the corner? He was clearly concerned about the distance to the safety car on the restart, so slowing earlier was in his interests.Hamilton just didn't accelerate after the turn.
I think it's great. Something that this series needs. Passion and emotion. No more coporate "yes" man, a bit of emotion and passion is needed here and Vettel just displayed that.
Imagine the stories if Stroll wins the race.
I don't think it was an intentional brake test either but it was a silly place for Hamilton to almost stop his car; at the exit of an acute corner. He could have caused the whole field to grind to a halt and block the track.
Dangerous driving under the safety car.
Can someone explain to me wtf is this race?
Everyone needs to get over this dangerous driving/brake test. Safety car was coming in, Lewis was allowed to dictate the pace and allow the safety car to get away, he didn't slow, he didn't brake, he just didn't accelerate off the corner right away. After the previous restart, Vettel didn't want to get caught out again and was sticking right with him. He accelerated without realising Lewis didn't.
It's plain to see and what all the pundits (and in time I'm sure the stewards) are saying.
Enough armchair experts and driver bias.
