Seems the A1 Ring may be getting modifications to follow the old layout.
Obviously it's unclear at this stage just how much they are re-adding, or if it would be used for F1.
The "successor to the 911" and not the new 911.
Red Bull Ring to host wec? Motorsport-total has an interview with Red Bull and they want to use the old Osterreichring for the layout instead of the current layout F1 uses.
The current track is being expanded to follow the old layout. Here's some pictures from a while back.
WEC at the RBR. Sounds good to me . With the new expansion of the track, it should be a really good fit. The cars will look spectacular on that track.
This would be as cool as rebuilding the old Hockenheim just for endurance races (that track was simply perfect to host WEC and ELMS).
Hopefully not. I would much rather see WEC at Sebring if there was to be another US location.WEC at Indy? Racer.com has a write up on that subject.
I think they be good for the racing and they are highly unlikely because of what would be crap attendance numbers. Why would they be good? Nobody went to them as F1 races, what makes you think WEC would get people there?
If it Asia then Sepang would be more likely. As for a second race in the US, I'd go for Road America every single time.
So do I. The WEC season starts too late. It needs a race in March. Why not Sebring?
Honestly, I miss the 12 hours of Sebring as the intro of the WEC season.
The Viper team have rented a P2 for the race. http://sportscar365.com/lemans/lemans24/murphy-prototypes-unloads-with-gas-monkey-colors/With Le Mans coming up, have any teams pulled out??
Or better yet, have enough teams pulled out to get the Viper in?

IMSA is not gonna give up Sebring, Its historically speaking their most important race of the calendar. Why not Sebring?

I think that is Carolina Motorsports ParkIs that..Virginia International Raceway they are at?
Am drivers that can do 3:37's at LM. Meanwhile the lmp3 am's can't keep pace with GTE. Truth hurts, I know.Ssssh no one tell him that LMP2 is for AM drivers.
Well with that argument it would be like comparing the bykolles to a motorised wheel chair.....Every time I click "Show Ignored Content", I'm reminded as to why I ignored that content in the first place.
Alas, curiosity kills the cat every now and then.
Keeping on topic: Comparing fastest laps is quite possibly some of the most useless, most anecdotal evidence one could possibly assemble. Especially when the classes in question also feature Pro drivers, which, since you didnt specify, we'll safely assume were behind the wheel to set those laps.
Average lap times would be much more useful, especially when the average exclusively comes from the Am drivers. And if more than one LMP3 falls into a range below GTE, then trustjabs point is more than justified.
