Porsche and Aston get some BOP help but will it matter at this point? http://sportscar365.com/lemans/wec/...-breaks-no-change-to-ford-for-6h-nurburgring/
Well the Ferrari 488 GT3 can be turned into a GTE with a kit from Ferrari that's purchasable by 488 GT3 owners, meaning you could run the 24 Hours of Le Mans then the 24 Hours of Spa with the same car basically.
The Porsche is the same deal this year apparently, but its extremely uncompetitive in both categories most of the time,
Hmm...reminds me of (could be completely off the wall, I mean the hatches are a much needed safety thing, and the Audi apparently was put through LMP1 crash tests) that weird thing Scott Pruett said during the Fox broadcast of the LM24 about how GTE and GT3 were going to become very similar or near identical by 2018 or something.Have a look at the new R8 and Huracán GT3 as well. They have roof hatches in the top
BMW build a car conforming to ACO regs? Be a first...
That car didn't conform to aco regs.
But they do touch on that in the article. The Z4 was meant as a stop gap, the M6 was not, but became one after the GT merger talks broke down.
That car didn't conform to aco regs.
Pretty sure it must've to have raced in the 24 Hours itself.
Why do you think the aco told them to bugger off and then not allow it back or the Z4 GTE to enter?Pretty sure it must've to have raced in the 24 Hours itself.

I know the mirrors on the 458 are just there for decoration but it would be good if the car that is being lapped had a clue what was going on.
There is no doubt that it was a aggressive move but that is the race leader with P2 .5 sec back and that Ferrari was under no threat from any other GTE car, loosen up the wheel and run a wider exit instead of ignoring blue flags and chopping the leader.
I have no doubt Freitas made the wrong call, he has a hard time telling sunshine from rain most of the time.
Unless you are passing a 458 then take the escape road or runoff area because that guy will likely change his mind mid corner. As per the rules, the slower car must hold its racing line, it's down to the car behind to make sure it is safe to overtake and complete the over take safely.
No that's not in the sporting regulations.Unless you are passing a 458 then take the escape road or runoff area because that guy will likely change his mind mid corner.

Lol it wasn't supposed to race it at Le Mans?! BMW tried to enter it in Le Mans and where told where to go by the ACOBMW weren't gonna enter the Z4 anyway, it was a "Stop gap" anyhow so it was already decided it wasn't racing at le mans.

Also the Z4 was just like the M6 a GT3 car
At least with the Z4 GTE they tried to make it different with the aero and different wing. The M6 is literally the GT3 but with a different tire setup and no canards.
And its then that I remind myself the 488 GTE and GT3 are also very similar, as well as the Porsche 911's.That's because with the Z4, they modified a car that wasn't compliant with ALMS GT rules anyway so they had to make it different. As mentioned in the Article, the M6 was made with the GT convergence in mind while it was still in talks before those broke down, hence why there barely is much difference between the M6 GT3 amd M6 GTLM.
