If it would do something other than loop that Damn Coke commercial, I might could tell you.

What they did was a start. The ultimate goal should be no admittance into lower series at all.

I don't even know who this guy is but I'm pretty sure I heard somewhere and it might have been here too, that Carl was considering running for the senate?
He didn't rule it out.

Post is largely FAKE NEWS! but the Gibbs stuff about selling the team to Carlos Slim is pretty interesting

I've decided that despite what I said a couple weeks earlier, I'm going to give the new NASCAR format a chance through the first few races of the season.

I wonder when there will be a Daytona 500 entry list?

1. Dodge Forever
2. Honda should already be here to play off Toyota.
3. Hyundai is OK, not spectacular. Just like their cars.
4. Audi and the Audi-in-NASCAR fetish morons can GTFO. Especially since NASCAR will be commercially dead in two years anyway at this rate.

So here's another reason why attendance at races has been going down, and it's one I don't think most people have thought of: hotel price gouging on race days. Seriously, $500+ a night on Daytona 500 weekend for a decent hotel?

I know NASCAR isn't the only event that spikes hotel prices, but given how tight people have been with their money the last few years, I can understand why they wouldn't want to pay three, four, five times the cost of a ticket just to avoid sleeping at the Bedbug Inn off the turnpike.

That's actually the reason why I only go to one race a year. Between the race tickets, hotel/campsites, and travel, it's just too expensive.

Don't know what our hotel cost for Daytona weekend as my dad booked the room, but I'm pretty sure it is anywhere near $500 a night.

We stay in either Jacksonville or St Augustine though.
