The more I think about the new format and how I think everything will all play out, I've gone from "I disapprove of these changes" to "I don't know what to think of this." Granted I was never a NASCAR fanatic, I at least fancied the NASCAR when I was first learning of racing back in 1999. This new style make it as if you have to dominate a season to be a champion- like (dare I say...) Formula 1. Almost as if NASCAR is doing everything possible to prevent the happenings of the 2003 NASCAR Cup season from ever happening again to determine a champion. And in regards to having these stages, I think the series would probably be better off having individual races like in the British Touring Car Championship or the Supercars Australia championship.

I don't know everything about this, and the first races under this new format have yet to be run; but I am already thinking NASCAR (at least the Top 3 Touring Series) is only a slip of a banana peel of slipping and sliding into its own grave. I will still watch as many races as I can because I'm a motorsports fan and a motorsports enthusiast. So bring on the 2017 season!

One thing I miss from days past, the Shootout qualifying draw as a fan event. Remember when they'd bring drivers or crew chiefs out to talk about the off season, the upcoming season, and pick the prop with their starting position on it? They weren't the greatest things ever, and usually had enough corny jokes to fill a cornfield, but they were enjoyable to watch and seemed like it was enjoyable for the drivers.

I watched it at work. Not too exciting as single car runs. None of the Toyotas went out there. Looking forward to the 2nd practice. They'll be drafting then.

That is not good at all. I remember when the 500 used to have 50+ entries. I hope that we don't see fields of less than 40 cars this year...
I bet we will. I'll put the over/under at 5 races. Beyond the charter teams, unless they can make a legit showing I don't see why many non-charter teams would burn the money.

It's been awhile since there has been more than a couple extra entries. It's just not as easy as it used to be to find sponsorship for motorsports.

There were a few last season and nobody seemed to notice. I'm guessing it will pretty much be the same this year.

Sponsorship is extremely hard to find if you don't have one of those charters. Sponsors aren't going to simply burn their money on a car that may not even make the field.

This format could almost work if the shorter segments were last instead of first. :dopey:

That panoramic camera is a bit trippy.

Bowyer is doing Tony proud ATM, and apparently happy as a clam himself. Reed Sorenson...not as much, someone f-ed up.

Also, the more I see it used, the more I'm feeling the updated NASCAR logo.

Remember people, if you're a NASCAR fan, always remember that its always going to 🤬 rain at Daytona every 🤬 time.

Jesus Florida get your 🤬 weather fixed man.

Just out of curiosity how many of you collect nascar things?
I only ask is that I got a few that I kinda want to get rid of.
If anyone of you all maybe want some I can maybe list what I have when I get the chance too?
