2018 Pirelli Grand Prix de FranceFormula 1

Vettel driver of the day :lol:

Leclerc and Lewis would be my picks... not a 4 time champion who wiped out another car and ruined his own race at turn 1

In his defense, he locked up with basically nowhere to go (Bottas had every right to defend against him mind) and then passed 12 drivers seamlessly and took his penalty.

He’s a 4x World Champion, he made an error when he shouldn’t have. No one to blame but himself and he took out another driver. It’s the mistake you’d expect from Romain or Lance, not one of the top 3 drivers on the grid

The top 3 teams are in a league of their own and by the end had a pit stop over the rest of the field. If you think about how Lewis got a puncture from Nico at Spa the damage was so much he couldn’t even finish the race. Imo it’s more impressive that Bottas, with a spin and more energy in the contact that Lewis had was able to finish and only a few places down on Vettel.

But even then, Leclerc being able to finish in the points and have a good race, in a Sauber is more impressive.

I really hate our studio commentator. He really is a product of today's media. Trying to sensationalise everything that happens.

I'll confess she doesn't have much in the way of credentials, but it wouldn't surprise me if Sauber decided to jump at the chance to be first team in 25+ years to run a woman, for half a season at least.
Could see this happening under Monisha, Vasseur is too much of a professional for this

Race wasn’t too bad, shame about Vettel re championship, still his fault.

Grosjean on Ocon? Silly

Shame about first lap between Gasly and Ocon

Clean weekend for Max, ok from Kimi.

Points for Leclerc so it’s ok, made a mistake, but still great job

Mclaren awful

Williams, screw drivers being bad, car being bad, but why keep Stroll out on very old, severely flat spotted tires? He wouldn’t stand a chance of any proper result anyway so why risk?

Stroll needs to be protected against himself, they just showed the onboard from before his blowout. You can see his steering wheel bouncing because of the flat spot, and still he goes flat out into that corner.

Dumbass.

I cant blame Vettel for that crash any more then a racing incident, he was boxed in and even broke before Bottas but the loss of downforce would of doomed him into the corner, like with Ricciardo at Baku.

Sure he finished ahead of Bottas but it wasn't as bad as what happened after Verstappens move in China.

He should know that you have less downforce there, he should have braked earlier. Bottas left enough space on the inside.

It’s why he wiped out Hartley in Canada. On the plus side I guess he’s not costing the team any points

Even still, trying to avoid an incident from a car that is essentially behind you even when you brake earlier is not something that normally occurs, reminds me of Jos Verstappen hitting Montoya at Brazil in 2001.

I am glad that Max has found his non crashing form again. I was afraid he was turning into a what could have been.

They were level. The phrase you used was 'essentially behind'. Vettel screwed up.
His front wheel was level with Bottas wing, he was ahead.

He is still at fault for the collison but it's,not as bad as it looked from Vettels position, he broke early and was still a passenger to the car that would drive around him.

Bottas did nothing wrong but was Victim to the situation.
