Courtney currently in the 2016 Sandown winning car

Yeah, I saw that on the Supercars site. Still wonder why they haven't bothered building a new chassis for him.

Anyway I hope whoever wins the auction pays the bit extra to have to it put back to VF spec with the HRT livery. That's what I would do.

(If you'll excuse me I'm off to buy some lottery tickets....)

It's funny, "pull them back" to us.
I remember teams used to say, "we have to do better", "we have to catch up"...

Didn’t they build a new car for Tander that turned out to be a dud & lead to the sacking of Engineers?

Yes, a VF. A real Commodore not of the hunchback variety.

Definitely the VF version 👍. I wonder how much extra it would be?

Apologies for the double post but, I’ve just seen a Shell Mustang mock up using a REAL Mustang & it looks so much better than the Supercar.
I don't doubt that at all .

Not listened to the podcast yet but think Ryan Walkinshaw's comments on the Mustang and the proposed wind tunnel test are pretty spot on.

That might have been when Adrian Burgess was given the flick after they had that really poor weekend at Barbagallo. Not sure.

The Terminator has got my respect.

It was registered & being driven in the suburb of Doveton (of all places).

I don't think it had a genuine Supercar rear wing because it didn't have the picnic table that extends from the hatch on the race cars. It certainly was Supercar size though. Had all the relevant team livery & nice silver mags too.

I can't be sure either but Walkinshaw was looking for heads to chop off when he really should've looked at the one in the mirror.

Having said that, he does make sense about the wind tunnel.

Supercars need to learn from the past, especially this year & start using a full-scale wind tunnel with a rolling road so that they can truly & scientifically sign off on all future Supercar bodywork, knowing they've got it right.
If they can produce the wind tunnel numbers & show a truly balanced field, the whingers from any direction will be shot down before they can take a breath. That will only answer the straight-line questions though. There needs to be a well thought out process for testing the wings when cornering forces are applied & I find no coincidence at all that DJRTP used Phillip Island to evaluate their work following the brief hit-out at Willowbank.

Michael Caruso made an interesting point about DJRTP, aero and Phillip Island. He mentioned how the Nissan always goes well there, and had done so for as long as he was there, and that it definitely doesn't have any aero advantage. They also talked a lot with Ryan Walkinshaw about testing in wind tunnels, and he made a lot of sense about most things to do with parity.

 Thanks for the reminder, it was another great episode 👍.

This weekend's round at PI will be Game of Thrones themed.

While I'm a GoT fan. This does feel like a late April Fools day joke. Cross promotion at it's worst.

I just realised that Phillip Island isn’t a 500km weekend any more, it’s now just a normal super sprint event.

Pretty annoyed at that, don’t really know why that changed it to a far shorter schedule.

If they didn't put the big block around the actual 7-11 logo that would look quite nice, decent colour combo for a race car.

Didn't notice that they had changed the format until your post. Guessing it might have to do with the short turn around from Tassie?
