Yeah, Brown looks like a good fit for the series, as he's spread across Erebus, HMO and his S2 program. Not knocking Hazelwood at all. We see what he can do. Brown almost seems like a cross between Reynolds and Anton.

There is only one problem at MSR - $$$ They can't nail down a title sponsor with enough budget.

That's not a problem that is exclusive to that team, look at how many names have been wrapped on Percat's car.

What I like about Hazelwood & MSR is what they've been able to achieve on so little funding.

I'm really liking how open Kelly Racing have been with the videos they're doing 👍. Some other teams should have a good long look at this instead of going the secret squirrel route.
They've got nothing to lose. I mean, most teams use the Commodore. So, it's probably not a secret how they achieve their speed.

No doubt, it would be lovely if many teams took the time to make similar videos. Cool stuff.

Makes me wonder if this is why Todd is holding onto the Altima

“Over time, you will see more passenger cars from us,” he said. “You don’t really need to guess any further than what the most dominant segments are – in terms of where we would look and what we would try and push for. That’s absolutely where we’ll go to.”
Mr Lester would not be drawn on timing for Nissan Australia’s return to selling mainstream combustion-engined passenger cars, which may have to wait until the next generation of models become available. The company is now only trading with the ageing 370Z and GT-R sportscars.
Alternatively, Nissan Australia may look at introducing the K14 Micra light car. While it is built in France, it is manufactured in right-hand drive for the UK, which makes its prospects strong, particularly in a relatively buoyant class.
The L34 Altima mid-size sedan and A36 Maxima large sedan are also possibilities, despite being ruled out last year. That said, both models are manufactured in the US and China exclusively, which may weaken any business case, alongside the fact that they compete in shrinking segments.

I don't know how I feel about this. I'm sure they're great drivers but Supercars is not kind to newcomers. Being thrown into a touring car after competing in open wheelers would be an enormous shock to the system. At least Jack Perkins and Warren Luff have been around racing Supercars for a few years; they know what to expect. I really fear that these two will stuff up any chance Walkinshaw may have at a podium.

There were Mika Salo and Wil Power, that have raced V8SC at Bathurst and the GC, respectively. I was skeptical of Earl Bamber as an unknown, but a good driver, no matter the discipline, will get their head around these cars. It'll mainly depend on how good the WAU cars are. Ekstrom really showed how good he was in a T8 Commodore. That's a big difference to running in a Tekno or, back then, LDM machine. We'll see.

Hinchcliffe has driven a Supercar before (albeit the previous generation). Rossi is an absolute gun driver but I'm not sure how much experience he's had outside of single seaters. Think the biggest issue for the both of them is going to be the track itself. Especially with only two or three days of testing under their belts before the race.

Yeah, as much as I'd love to see Simona in a better car, Tickford have missed the mark with Lebrocq and Jacobson. Don't let this kid wait another year.

Good job by Randle, in Practrice 2.
I'm waiting until after qualifying when everyone has had a serious go on decent tyres before passing judgement.

Until next year's new tyre rules come into play, Practice times are muddied by who's running what & what their objective target is.

While I share your thoughts on not passing judgement just yet, at events like this one practise two is much more important as it gives that direct route to Q2 and saves the use of a set of greens, so pretty much everyone has a crack at the top ten times. P1 and P3 are more when the times are muddied.

Thanks for clearing up some of the mud, I didn't know that was the format for this round.

It will be interesting to see where everyone stacks up after a night of debriefing. Both Penrite Racing cars, a T8 customer car, three BJR cars, two Nissans and a rookie, all being faster than the factory Holden squad screams ''we haven't got our heads around the single spring yet'' to me.

At this stage(whole year really) I'd just like to see good racing. Good scraps, side by side, corner to corner racing. That's what V8s always been known for. This is how I've felt lately:

Nice day out here in Tailem Bend. The clouds look a little menacing though. :scared:

Update: received a text message informing us that our GA tickets have been upgraded to one if the grandstands!?

I wouldn't mind if VASC reverted to TCM. Make Group N just under that. Just keep TCR, S5000, Radicals, F3 and all the other stuff.

Look at that. RX-2s, Bluebirds, Toranas, Mustangs, Minis.
