Barcelona are interested in Arsenal's Aubameyang, now it was revealed today that Barca' debt is currently 1.1 billion Euros they can't really afford him outright, so they are willing to offer Coutinho in return.

Apparently, 103% of Barça's income, goes to salaries.

I don't see how they will recover from their debt in the next 5 to 10 years. Maybe they should stop buying expensive players (with huge wages), and rely on the youngsters from La Masia. I mean, they always come up with the supposed new Messi or new Iniesta, maybe atleast one of them will somewhat live up to the expectations.

Their wage structure is worse than Man Uniteds, and I thought ours was bad. But You see the numbers being paid to Greizmann, Pjanic and Coutinho and it's really eye opening. Those 3 players alone cost over £1.25m per week. Messi was on £1m per week on his own.

Without Messi, their 10 highest paid players cost almost £2.7m per week with an average weekly salary of £268k. That's amlomst an entire first team earning over £250k per week.

Most big teams have a standout star or two who earn more than £200k per week, Barcelona have 7 players on over £200k per week. For context, United have 3, and I think we pay a lot of our players too much.

That's a lot of money. I get the main star of the team being paid more, after all, even when the team plays bad, that player still brings people to the stadium. Also that star player usually sells the most shirts. I mean, when you have Messi or Ronaldo on the team, who's buying a shirt from any other random player? Atleast with them you can somewhat get your money back, just from the sales alone, let alone sponsorships, etc.

I think it's a common problem in football, and probably in sports, in general, people getting overpayed for no absolute reason.

Also transfer fees nowadays are absurd. Remember when Ronaldo's transfer from MU to RM was €94m (which granted a ton of trophies), and now you pay €100m+ for some random player who may or may not have a good season and then becomes average.

Interestingly, I think the President said with Messi the player wages would have been 113% of income, so we can quite easily calculate that if £1m is 10%, the entire player wage bill is £11.3m a week.

So my post about Barcelona maybe signing Auba has sparked a bit of debate, but now it turns out that they are not interested in him after all!

Well it still doesn't change the fact that Barcelona are out of money and the salaries of their players are just too high.

What are they doing in the La Liga? I thought Barca were still deluded into thinking they're going to play in the ESL with Real and Juve. Only.

Odegaard to Arsenal almost done, permanent deal around £30 million.

Seem like a good bit of business this considering Maddison would have cost around £70 million, plus they Willock to Newcastle for £25 million and they get Odegaard for just £5 million net spend.

This one? I mean, it pretty much looks like a normal shirt/training kit, but as professional football goes, it looks "unprofessional". Not ugly, just looks like a normal shirt you could wear outside the pitch.

Puma have done similar shirts for Marseille, Moenchengladbach, AC Milan, Fenebahce and Zenit this season as well.

I see. They just strike me as ordinary t-shirts. Which, to be fair, might be good for sales, since they can be used as a normal shirt.

Personally, my favorite kit that I can remember, was Real Madrid's 2014/15 black kit (I think it was the 3rd kit). It just looks classy and like you mean business.

Speaking of favorites, my favorite ball, probably ever, is the Nike T90 either white and red or white and blue from 2005 (the one with full rings). Remember it from those Ronaldinho videos. Just nostalgic.

That Puma 3rd kit this year is terrible. Can't really blame the individual clubs as it looks like Puma designed it for all of them.

Lewandowski announced he wants a new challenge and would like to leave Bayern. Doesn't sound like the club want to let him go for less than a Grealish or three Tammy Abrahams.

Man City 5-0 Norwich
Palace 0-0 Brentford
Villa 2-0 Newcastle
Brighton 2-0 Watford

Not a huge amount of news from today really, Grealish scored his first City goal, Danny Ings scored a great goal for Villa, Burnley's shirt numbers in todays game were 1-11 and that's the first time that's happened in the PL since Charlton did it back in the 98-99 season. Good start for Brighton two wins from two.

Man City didn't sell out their stadium earlier and baring in mind it was their first home game in front of fans in nearly 18 months, there is now talk of them actually reducing the stadiums capacity.

Holy ****.

My eyes!!!!!! 😳 Not even Ronaldo can pull that one off. ;)

Liverpool currently have their worst home kit ever, imho. Red and Orange! 😳🙄 Looks like a knock off Roma kit. Nike just do not have a clue with design. The Chel$ki Nike kits are seemingly where the Nike design team do their maddest out there ****.

Liverpool haven't even revealed their 3rd kit yet, which isn't a good sign. 😳 It will take something to beat that Juve 3rd kit though.
