It's not the first time we have had sponsor as a team name.
Copersucar
Benetton
Footwork
Leyton House
Virgin
Haas

...Red Bull

The names Stake F1 Team (Kick Sauber) and whatever Toro Rosso is becoming aren't a unique thing that's never happened in the sport.

But hot dang is Visa Cash App RB awful as a name. VCARB as the "designated acronym" isn't a good alternative, may as well be "Very CRAP".

Disaster

At least with Haas and Benetton, they were/are named after the owners at the time.

The name is bad enough, but they have to add a communication strategy aimed at 11 year olds on top of it.

These are from their official channels/site:

The teams cannot police themselves. We need rules about turbostroking sponsorship names.

The old name, the founder, the location.
It's a Toro Rosso, a Minardi or a Faenza.

I wish them double DNFs every race as punishment.

The only way they can redeem, is by giving us a banging livery, but it's 100% going to be all blue with white logos and that's it. Bet it won't even have a chip and pin thing for rear wing end plates.

They're finally entering their MasterCard Lola arc.
MasterCard

1997: Title sponsor cripples team
1998: Airbox sponsor with Jordan

So... expect Toro Rosso to go bust and Visa to be on the Aston Martin next year.

These names are going to sound so weird when Crofty & Brundle refer to them.

"Verstappen slip streams past Norris, Hamilton behind... WAIT, the Visa RB is off at Turn 3!"

F1 will probably instead go full nascar and let teams have different liveries and sponsors for each car. More Money!!!

If only BAR ran the Zonta 555. It's the most gorgeous car never raced.
kinda, but kinda not - Colin McRae gamestation video game generation HYPE. yes it's good, but would there be better non-raced liveries? Do testing liveries count?

1997 mclarent test car looked super cool, 2000 bmw test livery oh yeah

McLaren orange has always been horrible and I'm not sorry for telling the truth. The BMW's great but the the Zonta 555 really is that damn gorgeous.

Are you referring to heritage orange used from the historic cars and the "never unraced" or the modern variations?

I will disagree wholeheartedly that the heritage orange is horrible, and specifically the livery with blacked logos on the "never raced" looks mega awesome and gets 10 / 10 for me.

The Zonta 555 looks good but it's a bit a Blue car with a little stripe and big yellow 555 writing - In my opinion similar to the Prost team cars (I know the did get raced) and they looked great and the Zonta isn't as unique looking to cars that did race (at the time).

So for me the Zonta 555 is awesome and 8 / 10 or 9 / 10 design but it is 100% NOT the most gorgeous car never race in my opinion :)

Currently not in front of my computer to post the corresponding tweets, but apparently there's strong rumors suggesting that Lewis Hamilton will be joining Ferrari in 2025.

Reading that too. Madness. I mean that's another multiple world champion that Ferrari won't be able to give a title to.

Those rumours have swirled for years. I'd be surprised if anything came of them.

Frederic Vasseur had set the goal of completing the renewals of his drivers by the start of the season, although starting negotiations later than the original plans. The agreement with Charles Leclerc has recently been made official, while the one with Carlos Sainz has undergone some slowdowns. Behind this delay is the sensational idea of Frederic Vasseur and John Elkann to bring Lewis Hamilton to Marnaello, albeit fresh from his renewal with Mercedes but with only one season with an option. The management of the Red team is determined to focus on the Englishman, thus bringing a multiple world champion back to Maranello after the farewell of Sebastian Vettel.

Wonder if this is really just a hardball tactic with Sainz. I don't see Lewis sharing the same sentiment at this point in his career & I assume Mercedes has a cushy role for him post-F1.

If that happens, we'll know that Lewis isn't lying when he says that his tyres are gone.

Autosport and the BBC have reported it and Will Buxton is dropping not so subtle hints. I think this one's real chaps.

I'll believe it when I see it, it's been talked about so much, 'reported' so regularly, I honestly cannot see it happening. If it does I'll be very excited to see what he can do in the red, Leclerc is a formidable team mate. Would then be itneresting to see if Sainz went the other way or if Mercedes went their own way with an academy product.

Hamilton will dominate Leclerc. And Sainz back to Red Bull. You heard it here first.
