Seriously, it would be on paper a good match. Roush has had problems getting funding, while Ware can't put together a competitive product. Unfortunately, it's more likely to be Roush lack-of-funding plus Ware's lack of performance.
Funnier even, since Keselowski came to the team, they've been picking up sponsorships here and there. Either the Fenways decided to divest and actually care about the team, or Keselowski's the best wingman to have at the negotiating table.

Now that NASCAR has North Wilkesboro back for novelty/nostalgia purposes, they really don't need to do an expensive one-off like that anymore. I imagine most of the current crop of drivers have little to no dirt track experience anyway, so you can't even use the "going back to their roots" excuse either.

I'm fine with Bristol Dirt disappearing. It was fine as a one off, even though the dust made the broadcast absolutely abysmal.

Dale Jr. racing in tonight’s Xfinity race. It’s fun to root for my favorite driver in a race again!

He ran really good. Led a bunch of laps, and was in contention for the win until a vehicle fire forced him out of the race. But man that was fun to watch!

Daniel Hemric has the 31 for next season. No word on sponsorship (currently Kaulig's LeafFilter) or the 16 situation.

Maybe Dale Jr. had a fire button, he did say he was trying to figure out what each button did. I remember way back when Richard Petty would get tired and wore out so he would push the smoke button so he could hit pit road and get some rest!

Spire has purchased the Live Fast charter, rumored to be leasing it to Trackhouse for Zane Smith.

I wonder what Jeff Gordon is up to. I read online that he was only married twice. Durn, he's 52. I thought he was in his mid-40's. Wow, I haven't been paying attention to the Nascar news.

Currently he is Vice Chairman of Hendrick and is seemingly being set up to take over once Rick leaves.

Oh, that's cool. We used to go to Rick Hendrick's a lot to have our cars serviced/worked on, they have fine quality customer service. We also bought some used cars there as well.

You know you've had quite the career at a team when you've gone from having multiple championships to being put in a high position to possibly replace your former boss.

Alright, so someone try and fill the gaps for me here. Spire gets the charter and leases it to Trackhouse. Does spire pick the number, or does Trackhouse pick it?

My understanding is it will be a third Spire car and Trackhouse is loaning Smith to them, similar to when Buescher was with JTG. No clue how the funding works but considering they have a partnership I'd imagine some Trackhouse sponsors will be on the car.

The wording and announcement's all FUBAR, though. It's weird seeing Trackhouse announce Zane smith is driving for them, when he'll essentially be in a spire car.

Logano gets race ending damage at the start of stage 3. The defending champion is now at extreme risk of getting knocked out of the first round of the playoffs.

Joey Logano, Kevin Harvick, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. and Michael McDowell are eliminated from the playoffs after Hamlin dominates the final stage at Bristol.

I know who Logano is, he's a motorsport driver. He drives the No. 22 Ford Mustang.

This a huge, massive L for NASCAR.

At first glance, yes it is very much a massive L, but after thinking about it there could be something cool in the works with an IndyCar + Xfinity weekend at Milwaukee. IndyCar is heavily rumored to be returning next year and since they likely don't have a rich uncle willing to hire top level singers to get butts in seats (ala Iowa) a stacked weekend with IndyCar, Xfinity and either trucks or Silver Crown would be a great way to signal the track is back on the main stage while at the same time consolidating NBC staff. It would also keep all the broadcasting stuff in that area for the IMSA round at Road America since that would be either the week before or after, which I'm guessing is the reason the Xfinity race this year was the weekend before.

Edit: Sherry Pollex has passed. :(
