This man's brain isn't making it to Election Night.
Trump asked on Truth Social "For so many years people have been saying that Elvis and I look alike. Now this pic has been going all over the place. What do you think?" Trump included a photo mash-up of his face juxtaposed with the musician.

DJT looking like Elvis is a big insult to Elvis. This is a fan of both Elvis or the generalized concept of DJT. I am a big fan of '50s music, particularly Elvis and as much I like Trump he looks nothing like it. Except for maybe the hair, everyone who has done research into Elvis knows he died his hair blond.

With that said, Trump, and I don't give a **** how many woke votes at this point disagree with me, is the only person I'd vote for. If you hate Trump remember this --- gas under Trump reached the lowest of 1.55 dollars per gallon in states such as Nevada. The lowest since Clinton era. Are you happy paying 5+ dollars for a gallon of gas? If you are happy being milked to ****ing hell and back, vote for Biden and his dumbass cabinet.

You got that backwards there, bud.

DJT
Gas prices were "$1.86 when I left" the White House.
In no U.S. city or state was the average price of gasoline $1.86 per gallon on Jan. 20, 2021," said Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis with GasBuddy.
In general, a president, whether Trump or Biden, has limited control over the weekly and monthly shifts in gasoline prices. On a short-time horizon, gas prices depend mostly on global supply and demand.

I mean, I guess that makes sense if the price of gas is the most important thing to you, and you think that Trump actually had a meaningful effect on those prices instead of them just being a product of the complex national and international oil economy. Weird thing to choose, but I guess we are on a racing game forum so there's always going to be one person out there that thinks of absolutely nothing else but cars.

Seems pretty short-sighted to be voting just based on gas prices without regards to things like "is this guy going to undermine the entire political system for his own gain", but it's a free country.

For now.

Nice cherry pick. You know I'm talking about the price at the pump the consumer pays, not the wholesale price of refiners.

And wokeness has nothing to do with it. Seems you're just out to criticize me for the sake of doing so without contributing anything of substantial worth.

Quite, but the latter defines the former - and retail won't be lower than wholesale. The only time wholesale fuel prices were low enough for retail to be the price you say was during the start of the pandemic, and for that reason.
And wokeness has nothing to do with it.

They'll probably go out the same way.
Trump is far too self-centered for that. The man is so ridiculously narcissistic that he can't even get addicted to drugs or become an alcoholic because then he wouldn't be able to keep being excellent in his mind. You can't win if you're not alive. Dying is for losers.

Imagine gas prices being your single biggest determining factor of a President. What a sheltered, ignorant way of life.

Personally, it costs me $40-$50 to fill up my 2 cars on 89 & 91 respectively, which isn't very different from before Biden.

Edit*
As far as Trump's words & what gas was like before he left, the guy oversaw a country going through a pandemic just beforehand. I would imagine people working from home & the streets being emptied played a heavy hand in how gas companies adjusted their prices to low values.

Federal tax on gasoline in the US has been the same since the early 90's. So it's either world crude oil prices or state tax that can influence the prices at the pumps. Nevada's a red state isn't it?

I am more trusting of my eyes than I am an internet article attempt to "fact check". I know for fact gas reached the lowest of 1.55 dollars per gallon in Nevada. My wallet saw it, as did my eyes.

Your wallet has eyes?

Guess what, I've been pumping my own gas for over three decades now, and I also have a memory. I urge you to look up who was president in any of these examples, if you think one president or party is behind the price of fuel.

Gas was $0.86/gallon in late-1986.
It was $1.10/gallon in 1989
It was $1.30/gallon in 1990
It was $0.95/gallon in 1992
It was $1.37/gallon in 1994
It was $1.20/gallon in 1995
It was $1.10-1.50/gallon up to 2000 or so
It was $1.10/gallon right after 9/11/2001
It was $2.00/gallon in 2004
It was $3.00/gallon in late-2005
It was $4.50/gallon up to late-2008.
It was $1.20-1.50/gallon in early-2009.

It went up and down - like up to nearly $4.00/gallon in 2013, but then settled back down to $2.00-2.50 throughout 2014.

It took a serious dive right around The Pandemic was announced by the WHO, because nobody wanted to fly, nobody was going to work, coupled with Russia and Saudi Arabia dumping a surplus of oil into the worldwide market at one of most inopportune times (after all, even China didn't need it). Then I saw gas as low as $1.20 (it was a pretty wild swing) and went back up to $1.60-2.00 by the end of 2020. Yes, it took a serious rise until late-2021/early-2022. Then that cooled down and we aren't seeing $5.00/gas, but $2.50-$3.00.

It was back and up freaking down ever since then, and has always done so, and has not necessarily followed the stripe of President but the free market. The free market reacts (and overreacts!) to people who hold opinions. Sure, there's a giant invisible hand (which tends to hold a fist full of trillions), but if you alight the masses with nonsense, then the investing public will believe it as truth.

Travel around a bunch, and you'll see there is a red/blue variation in higher fuel prices at the pump. More spread and variation in gas taxes on a state-by-state basis, because the powers that be can't agree on infrastructure bills and road taxes (but will take credit for it anyway) and there's less average mileage driven for the first time since the 1973 oil crisis. There's also the usual suspects owning strategic gas stations which happen to be located near airports, theme parks, very wealthy areas, and spots in the middle of nowhere (Nevada has two of these criteria) and can set insane values for gas but are otherwise one-off outliers.

Since you're a single-issue voter, you can get off the red soapbox. Or continue to listen to the spouting of the ignorant.

What GOP are you looking at? This is the current party rejecting immigrants, student loans, wanting more work in exchange for social safety nets, sunsetting federal programs every 5 years, & even voting against free lunches for kids.

I can see your statements in regards to the Democrats, but the current Republican party has gone more right as much of it allies behind a man supporting authoritarianism.
Yeah I believe that trump is different from Joe Biden and all the democrats but what I mean is that fiscally both parties are less restrained meaning generally more left leaning. Budget deficit hitting close to 130% of GDP for one thing. This is higher than WW2! Trump has even been on record As saying he doesn’t care about the spending deficits and believes it is the problem of a future president. :) One thing I believe about trump is he is more democrat oriented than most people think. He has lived in Manhattan for most of his career and realistically has even registered as a democrat in the past. I think with him people often forget his history and they only look at immigration, etc etc . The border situation is a brand new issue and it wasn’t an issue during previous administrations. It was primarily invented by Republicans as a new issue to market on imo. You could argue if you hate Trump that he doesn’t really follow traditional Republican positions on fiscal restraint at least and this includes with interest rates and trump picking on Jerome Powell in 2018 over rates before covid started. Anyways, the parties now are following new templates it will be interesting if they can work together to save the deficit and the economy.
