I jinxed them.

 I just now noticed you guys' argument. I've been watching the stream this whole time.

Here's what I think: Risi Dominated GT2 for years, Corvette dominated GT1 for years, and then moved their talents to GT2. Two dominant teams equals epic battles between the two in GT2, which means they're both at equal talent (as far as I'm concerned.)

Is anyone still watching the Audi TV stream? I'm finding it even more amazing than I already did that they can go so fast when by the looks of things you literally can't see anything but the road markings

+1
Amazing. Can wait to try that in GT5 (when and if...)

Yeah, looks insane when they go through the Porsche curves, couple of laps back the nr7 was overtaking a LMP2 car there and I was certain judging by the footage that it was not making the corner, but it kept the car perfectly on track. Scary impressive

I'll be watching the Audi stream alot more now that the camera crews around the circuit are done for the night. So now all speed will be able to show is pit area and front straight and on boards.

No Grenade, the manufacturers decided to delay the new GT2 rules till at least 2012, they said there's no point as there are already so many people that have just built/ or have competitive cars.

That makes sense I guess 👍

I dig this SPEED commentary crew, good bunch of guys :)

Matech are still doing impressively, and I'm digging the SPEED guys' discussion on the Ford GT40s :D

EDIT: Just dove into the Audi onboard view, the sound is pretty industrial, but the view is amazing! All I can say is...it's mental. The drivers aren't seeing their way, they're visualising it. Unbelievable skill from these guys.

EDIT 2: Did anybody just see on the Audi feed the #7 Audi just bump the Aston? What was that about?! The SPEED guys have picked up on it just now.

Portuguese commentators just had Lamy on the phone again. I'll try to feed his inside info on the Peugeot team whenever we get it.

For now he confirms #1 problems were electrical, specifically with the alternator.

He also says #4 is now being "looked" upon as almost a member of the team at least when it comes to assessing the best racing pace and tires for the night.

#2 loosing some time and Menassien complaints about handling were probably due to harder tires not working as good now at night because of the lower temperatures.

Did anyone just see the #7 Audi rear end the Aston on the Audi feed?

Yeah! Wow .
Eurosport still haven't caught that yet. Maybe it would be an idea for Eurosport to provide the commentary box with a feed for the audi stream? 💡

I also saw the spin at the start line chicances before Eurosport.

It looked like the Audi misjudged the braking zone completely, as he aborted his attempt to overtake and moved behind the Aston again at the exact wrong moment.

Odd. The SPEED guys were suggesting Mcnish was annoyed that the Aston braked a little earlier...if that's the case, then that's pretty arrogant from McNish, but I can't believe a sensible guy like him would start barging other guys on the track like that.

Well it all happened very fast, but I think the Audi was in the wrong for moving back behind the Aston so fast and so late before the corner and into the braking zone.
It could be that the Aston started braking earlier because it saw the Audi coming down the inside at that point.

It was all too much too late basically, but more the Audi's fault seeing as the Aston had limited chance to react to that.

Presumably Ulrich didn't see it that way, and is storming off down the pits to the AMR garage as we speak? :P

I'm verry dissapointed about the dutch commentairy on eurosport.
The guy hasn't said anything yet about the audi running into the back of the aston.

*Grabs remote, Switches to English audio*

Although the Dutch guy (I think he's Flemish actually) isn't all that bad, the English commentary is better. Still, they havnt mentioned the little rub either.

Right, I'm going to try and do some revision tonight - I kinda have to, an exam on Tuesday and I'm woefully underprepared. Wish me luck guys, I'm gathering media and english notes in front of me to keep me going through the night.

Sit. rep. on the race, from my view:

LMP1 - Peugeot's looking okay-ish, worries about reliability, the Audis are relentless and a little bullish in their pursuit. Aston Martins flying the flag for petrol power nicely, considering their lack of testing and pace compared to the factory diesel teams as David Richards outlined, very impressive :)

LMP2 - Looks pretty comfortable, Strakka and Highcroft on a lap together.

GT1 - Matech out on their own, just about staying ahead of the GT2 competition.

GT2 - Corvettes looking strong, but I'm not discounting those Porsche teams just yet.

Well, I'm not claiming to know best but to me it looked a bit dodgy to me that so soon after the Audi moved back behind the Aston that it was braking. I mean, the Aston driver obviously wouldn't have wanted to cause that shunt on purpose!

I think at this point my favourites to win each class are:
LMP1: Panis - Oreca 908 (would be awesome for some rain and a 1996 Monaco style win for Panis :D)
LMP2: RML Lola
GT1: Labre Saleen
GT2: AF Corse F430 Alesi/Fisichella/Viliander would be awesome.

Yeah, Alesi, Fisichella and Panis would be an awesome F1 themed podium :D.

I might have a new Porsche team to sheer for; the Prospeed Competition car. It's a Belgian team, and I share the same surname with one of their drivers. (Their current driver, Louis Machiels)

Tommi, who's going to give another try for a shout-out, you or me?

Audi laptimes are now under the leading Peugeot times..

Cooler temperatures are more of a benefit for the Audi's?

But Gene is setting laps close to Pug qualy pace...and rapidly catching the Audis.
The Pugs at the front are keeping it steady for now.

Edit: Gene on a 3'19!!!

Only 1 more GT1 car ahead of a GT2 leaders. I'm going to guess by daylight GT2 will be ahead of GT1.

-it's inevitabre.

- It's what?
- Inevita... Inevitabre.

- One more time.
- Inevitabre!

Things are inevitabry
going to change.

They are assessing tire wear to see if they can take 4 stints, and if it will be faster and safe to do so.
